Activate is open daily and hours change depending on the day. Since Activate is located in a plaza, there is plenty of parking throughout. It is also accessible by the Eglinton LRT as well. I stopped by Activate for the first time recently with a party of 4 to enjoy some fun at the facility. We decided to go in the morning around 10am on a Saturday. It does get busier later in the day which can increase the time you'll need to wait for games as more people are in more rooms. Upon entering the facility, you pay for how many minutes of play you desire and collect your wristbands (one is a player wristband, the other is a locker wristband). If it is your first time there, there are stations where you can create a player ID and account. Before entering the play area, to the side there are some tables for you to rest. There is also a locker room with a bench as well as separate washrooms for females and males. There are water stations as well. It is best to wear comfortable shoes or running shoes as some rooms/games require you to move around quite a lot, which can work up a sweat. Games wise, the games are fast, which last only a few minutes, best played with a small group of players (2-5 people where 5 people is the maximum number of players). Each room also only allows one party to play at a time. Each room also has about 4-5 different games with different levels of difficulty. Before entering a room, a specific game is selected where everyone in the party scans their wristband by the door. This way, you can earn points or keep track of your high score for a certain game (getting a certain amount of points can allow you to redeem points). Once in the room, you can keep replaying the game as long as there is no other party waiting to play outside (if there is you'll have to exit the room as soon as possible). The games, all time-based, range from shooting hoops, dodging lasers, finding items, shooting targets, throwing balls, stepping on specific colours on a grid, the list can go on! The levels of difficulty within each game also vary making it more difficult to pass a certain level. There is definitely a game for everyone to enjoy. Within the games area, there is also a photo booth area where you can take photos with your party. Your photos are then digitally sent to your email as well. Overall, an interactive and immersive gaming facility where arcade-style games test your physical and mental skills! Activate is for all ages and is a fun activity to do in a small group. Definitely go in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds!

The party rooms are upstairs; gets VERY hot on warm days. Staff is abundant, lots around and helpful when you need them, easy to spot them as well. Claw machines if you use own coins too, didn't try as I didn't want to waste money on them. They also have a photobooth by the front but only very plain and basic passport-like prints available. Otherwise this place is pretty fun, the jungle gym is good enough. The price for a party was very expensive according to my friend but my kids and I enjoyed the time here at Happy Kingdom.

A Yelp experience in June introduced me to Pixel Pulse. I enjoyed my time playing games. I forgot to ask about rates back then. I was in the area and dropped by to ask. There was lots of parking. I backed into a spot and walked into the building. Staff are helpful. I had to sign a waiver using a tablet. This touchscreen always chose the option below what I had selected. July for my birth month? I got August three times. The worst was specifying today's date on the waiver. It does not let you manually select the month. Rather, you're supposed to know that there's a Today button off to the right. I am a good tester for usability. Generally, if I don't get it, others won't. I give this waiver on a tablet a failing grade. Other than this tablet issue, I had a fun time. A male staffer was kind to put a bracelet around my left wrist. He then led me to a game and let me know how to use the bracelet. When you find a game that interests you, you tap the Enter button on the touchscreen and then scan your bracelet on the GoToTags scanner. I played these games: - Basket: I chose the game where you shoot at the green backlit basket. If you shoot at the red one, you lose a life. I enjoyed this game a ton. - BallToss: You have inflated balls that you toss through green-lit rectangles. If you throw them through red rectangles, you lose a life. I didn't like this game because I lost two lives right off the bat and I didn't even throw balls through red rectangles. I didn't get it! - C-Target: You use a laser gun to hit circular marks. I liked that there were chairs if you needed to sit down to play this game or just take a breather. I did fine shooting at targets, but I wasn't sure how I was doing until I ran out of ammunition. It was okay. - Seashells: You run around the room listening to sounds that each seashell was producing. You have to weed out the sound that doesn't belong. I loved this game so much. It was fun and a bit tricky as I moved up each level. - Pizza Delivery: You have to take a pizza box with a specific pizza order and place it in front of a door. I didn't get this game. The buttons were confusing and there needed to be more instructions at the pizza box station. - Hexa Quest: I chose the game where you get two targets and you have to hit them with small red balls. You need to hit each pair of targets before time runs out. I played this game twice. It was awesome. I successfully got through all five rounds twice. My favourite games in the order in which I played them: - Basket - Seashells - Hexa Quest I read the experiences from a few Yelpers who said that this place is for kids and that the games are boring for adults. I respectfully disagree. The minimum age is seven years old according to PIxel Pulse's site. If I were my seven-year-old self, I'd have a difficult time shooting baskets, as the hoops were high up. I was a tall kid, so my saying that I wouldn't do well speaks volumes. Maybe if a parent lifted me up, I'd fare better as a kid. Folks who felt that these games were boring likely didn't find games that matched their skillset. I do well at throwing games, which explains why I liked shooting balls in basketball hoops and tossing red balls at targets. I also have decent hearing skills. It's why I ended up having three favourite games that I played more than once. I found the washrooms towards the back to the gaming area. There are two single stalls. The one that I used was exceptionally clean. You lock the door with the red button when you're inside the stall, and use the square button to unlock and open the door. I let the male staffer know that the games were super fun. He took off my bracelet. I wished him a great day. He reciprocated. The check-in process was quick & efficient. We simply gave them our names and they verified that we were on the list and that we signed the waiver. The place is spacious!!! We went to the one at Oshawa Centre in the old Sears space. Lots of room to skate around without others getting in the way or not having enough space to get around other people. The music is amazing! Lots of 90s music which brought back a lot of fun memories. The interior was well-done! Lots of neon lights, disco balls and just tons of photo-ops. I'm already looking forward to finding another date to go back again.

It was a cold and rainy night, so indoor roller skating seemed like the perfect thing to do! Admission was only $15 per person for 2 hours (which is a total steal in my opinion). We also liked that you had the option to bring your own roller skates and/or rollerblades to this rink. The price for renting skates was pretty expensive. $20 for the first hour, an additional $8 for the second hour and additional $5 for protective gear. Which is another $33 ON TOP of the admission fee... so you're probably better off bringing your own or buying a new pair. The interior was nicely decorated with neon lights, disco balls, and 2 walks of vinyl records. Totally Instagram worthy! The rink is quite small (an old H&M store), which is great for beginners, but gets a bit boring after a few rounds. They also provide "walkers" for absolute beginners. So don't be afraid to give it a try!

Having been to other claw places such as claw and kitty and KoiClaw, the staffs are much more helpful there. The price is not easy to win, in fact you need to play like 3-4 times in order to win as the claw will just open and drop the toy randomly. This is very annoying as you are basically just having to drop like 12 coins (4 coins per play) in order to get one toy. Therefore you don't end up with many points to exchange for gifts. It just seems like there is zero strategy involved as regardless of what you do the claw will just open before it gets to the prize drop box section until you play it many times. I notice by the 4th try I had done a very bad grab but the claw held tight enough for me to win the prize. Anyways, probably won't be back again as it was not worth it. On top of all of this it was not an easy location to get to. Giving a two star is being generous IMO
