Ok this place was so much fun!!!…read more This is like a life sized, Mario party mini games recreation (in my mind anyways). Before you arrive, you need to sign a waiver since it involves a lot of physical activity. Then when you sign in you are giving a wristband to play the games and a wristband for a locker if needed. The building is a bunch of separate rooms and each room has a different set up which holds a few different types of games that are possible to be played. You check into a room by tapping your wristband at the front of it. And then get to select which game you'd like to play on a screen outside the room. The people playing inside will be notified to leave the room once their current level is completed (whether successfully or not). The set up is quite well done and you never feel like you're waiting a long time for a room or getting kicked out often of the rooms you're playing in. I felt like a kid again, running around playing all kinds of fun, cooperative games. And as I looked around I noticed people of all ages were there. Good ol' family fun. I will be back again!

You can play games competing as individuals with your own scores and ranks or you can compete as a team in each of the activities. We did a little bit of both and I could see how either approach would work just fine.

Very slick, clean and organized place, great selection of games and the staff are wonderfully helpful. If you need help getting used to the equipment, they're there. If you just want to log in and do your thing, they give you space but will pop in on mic once in a while to make sure you're comfortable. The price is a little steep for me so I can't go as often as I"d like, but the two times I've been thus far have been a blast. I really think it's a great place to give VR a try if you've never played it before! One thing I wanted to stress is cleanliness. When you walk in, the smell reminded me of a hospital - which to me was great because that assures me that they keep the equipment clean and sanitized and I had no qualms about using it - I was completely at ease. They also have a pretty good referral and monthly membership program that gives you all sorts of discounts - I used mine to bring my sisters and everyone got 15% off which REALLY helped convince them to try it out, lol. All in all, a great place, come try it out!

Note - before entering the space you'll need to take off your shoes so you will be shoeless throughout the entire facility (including the communal washroom - which was an interesting experience lol but not the end of the world) The staff were really friendly and great at getting us all set up and explaining how the games work. They have a large selection of games to choose from. I definitely recommend going for at least an hour or more, especially if it's your first time, because we found that getting used to the mechanics and learning the games takes some time. Once we got into it we had a blast playing the games! Overall it was a really fun experience and we definitely want to come back again to try more games!

I'm super excited that vivid will be expanding soon with a larger space and bar. We found Vivid VR…read moreafter I saw an Instagram ad for the rec room. The rec room locations in Canada had really terrible reviews and we decided to look local. Vivid's website was pretty easy to use and book our appointments, we went with the $30 pp premium for an hour (all the standard games + some others). I suggest coming earlier to get used to the controls, it's a little different. We had so much fun, highly recommended. I do love the free classic arcade games in the front that we can play as we wait. Thoughtful touch. Wish it was located more downtown near all the bars and nightlife, this place would be an even bigger hit. Looking forward to the new developments. I'd def come back again.

I forgot the name of the games that I played, but definitely try the one where you shoot the robots. It was so exciting and a bit scary as the game went on. You had the ability to move around and shoot them. Another game that I played was fighting off the demons. Had a blast killing them!! But the one down side of it was that, we weren't able to move around. Just station at one spot, but it was still fun. I'm probably the worst gamer...not coordinated at all and have a high chance that I will die first. But it was pretty easy to pick up, so I can imagine that anyone like me can have fun too. Before it was our turn, we were waiting on a group of 3 kids. Anyone could see their excitement in playing the game. It's perfect for all ages, and another way for parents to bond with the children. The customer service was great! I believe his name was Ken... Could be wrong. But he was super helpful for us beginners.

The employees were very helpful and the equipment (HTC Vive) was sufficient. The experience could've been much better for a company event if it displayed our actual names instead of randomized names, and if some people had a bit more time to get used to VR.
