They got order wrong we sat another 20 minutes and waited for guest to ear her food was hot. They then said their would be no charge for guest their was, lol they took off the order we did not order they got wrong in first place (did they think we should have been charged for an order that was not placed and was not eaten lol. Usually have a very good experience but not at this one. We but the cups usually have several but don't want to be reminded of this experience. Busiest brunch place on campus! Really good breakfast food, pretty good variety, and ok customer service. I had a pretty bad experience last time I was there. I went with 2 other friends and we all got omelette dishes assuming eggs don't take that long to cook. We were in a rush between classes and allotted 2 hours to spend here. It took almost 45 minutes for our food to come out (after putting in our order) and our food was only luke-warm borderline cold. Our waitress failed to check in on us or reassure us when our food was coming, so we were pretty upset. All was redeemed at the end of our meal, our waitress explained everything and gave us free coupons for beignets. All is good in the world :) I've tried the eggs Benedict, variety of omelette and chilaquiles. Everything was delicious, especially with a mimosa on the side. Broken egg is more on the pricey side, but the quality of food is better than other places. TLDR: Expect a long wait, especially Sunday mornings. Great breakfast for a little extra $$. read more

Have come here years before and have to say that the quality of food and service has declined since then. Ordered a black coffee and asked for non dairy milk and was given coconut cream.... um how does a restaurant in this age still not carry non dairy milk? Just source it from a grocery store it's like a 5 minute drive. We ordered no eggs and just sausage for a side and was given eggs with bacon ... I don't understand if these waitresses can't hear or what but coconut cream is not milk and no eggs does not mean eggs. Anyways, the portions are ridiculously ginormous so better not eat for some time prior to coming unless you wanna waste half a meal. read more

I think this place enjoys its crowd and appeal because of all the visitors from out of town to campus at Purdue for college visits. This is an excellent choice for breakfast if you're on Purdue's campus. This location is relatively new and is located next to Stacked Pickle. Parking is available, but it's not very clear, even if you're a Purdue native. To find parking, go behind the restaurant. There's an entrance to the lot near the Northwestern McDonald's. There isn't much seating, so be prepared for a wait if you go at busy times. (11:30-12:30ish) Service is friendly, but is not always the fastest. It's a very chic design inside, however, and it's a nice aesthetic. It's warm and inviting. The food is very good. I usually get one of the omelettes. If you are more on the lunch side of brunch, I suggest one of the burgers. I particularly like the Lakeshore omelette. Overall, for a post-morning exam meal or for a nice sit down breakfast near campus, this is an excellent choice. read more

My spouse and I always had breakfast dates in the before times and Another Broken Egg was always one of our go-to's. After two years of no restaurants, we finally felt comfortable enough to get back out there and this is where we picked. Everything is still wonderful, the crabcake bennies are still the best, and Kyleigh G. was fantastic as she took care of us on our maiden foray back into public... told us how the restaurant has been doing, and convinced me to try the cold brew (yum). Went here on the first day of the new decade (2020) for brunch! It was fabulous. My daughter enjoyed her dish, and the Eggs Benedict was the beat I e had. Service was very quick even with a 20 minute wait, and EVERYONE was super friendly. I tried a couple Mamosa's and a house favorite Bloody Mary. I was on a trip to Salt Lake City when I was struck by a sudden craving for crabcake eggs benedict. Fun fact: There's not a single restaurant in SLC that had the dish. Or, perhaps, some SLC friends just need to update Yelp! Either way, I resolved to find a place in Lafayette when I got back home. I made my way to Another Broken Egg Cafe on a Sunday morning, and was not disappointed. Not only was my crabcake eggs benedict delicious, but I could get a side of pancake without having to order a separate pancake meal. Blueberry lemon goat cheese. Be still, my beating, goatcheese-loving heart. So yes, I put that all in my face as quickly as possible. In terms of wait times, I greatly appreciated the ability to get in line digitally ahead of time, although I ended up at the bar since I was alone and there were seats open. I also greatly appreciated the electric car charging spot outside; my little Nissan Leaf also got to have breakfast. I'll definitely be back. I imagine next time I'll bring my spouse. read more

We were all recovering from a late night wedding reception but before some of our out of town guests started home I wanted to take them to our favorite brunch spot, Another Broken Egg. We needed an extra large table and the hostess was so very accommodating. Some of our party were on a time constraint to get back and our waitress again happily accommodated them by getting their orders quickly. My daughter and I came in for brunch today, an occasion that rarely happens. I decided to take a chance on a dish that sounded pricy for what it was, but when it arrived at the table, (Carne Asada Brunch Tots) it was clearly devoid of meat ( to me, my daughter, my fantastic server Brad and the kitchen staff who delivered the meal). The "Key Holder/Manager" Chelsey, told me that she generally has the server deal with customer issues and only came to the table AFTER she had dumped the food in the trash, to argue how I was wrong and there was an abundance of meat in the dish...which everyone who saw it but her, clearly saw was not the case. Our server Brad, was professional and apologetic, as was an employee named Brad Price, who offered to comp my bill. I wish I could give more than two stars for this experience, but leaving without a meal, and being argued with about said meal, barely allowed me to post . My advice to this franchise? Relieve Chelsey of responsibilities beyond greeter and sweeping the floor, which is actually an insult to the awesome girls working in the front of the house. This is a prime example of, just because you went to school for restaurant and hotel management, it does not mean you have any business in customer service. read more

I am bound determined to become the Indianapolis area evaluator of huevos rancheros...noticed this place offered it on their menu, and since I've never been here before, thought it'd be a perfect little northward jaunt on a Saturday AM. First off, a tip I learned from past reviewers (you know who you are...ty): download and use the Nowait app. Gets you in much more quickly, and gives you an ETA to check in at the hostess area. Very helpful when you forgot the Indy Monumental Marathon is wrapping up! In true form, I ordered the huevos rancheros and plain grits as my side. This restaurant has a southern flair, so I have to say I really enjoyed that they offered grits in different forms (plain, with cheese, etc.). My main dish itself was large. For someone with a smaller appetite, it could be shared. Only thing I might have changed was to have not fried the tortillas; I'm more a fan of them just being served softened. But this is just their take on the dish, so no biggie. It was delicious, regardless. The black beans and cheese sandwiched between the tortilla layers added to the dish's heartiness. Grits were creamy and delightful, as expected. Best surprise? A full bar! I added a little Bailey's to my coffee in tribute. The staff were all super friendly here, as well...from the hostess to the busboy who chatted with me. All in all, a fun little brunch spot to add to your collection. read more

My husband, daughter, and I toured Purdue this morning for an hour and we were pretty darned hungry afterwards. My daughter wanted to stay on or close to campus so she suggested Another Broken Egg. I'll confess that I had already selected another restaurant in West Lafayette and had even selected my beverage snd entree so I was silently disappointed. We walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and seated. Our waitress, Cheyenne, was great. She suggested many of the house favorites. I settled on the seasonal corned beef, Brussels, and blistered tomatoes topped with two over easy eggs. My was I surprised how good my meal was! The eggs were perfectly cooked with crispy edges. The yolk blended beautifully with the corned beef, potatoes, and veggies. There was a dollop of sour cream that brought all together so well. My husband had the chicken fried steak Benedict, which he said was good and my daughter had the salmon Benedict that she said was good but had a tad too much seasoning salt. We had breakfast here before a Purdue tour today. It was awesome all the way around. The staff was efficient, knowledgeable, and super friendly. They are doing a good job following COVID protocols. The best part is the food. They have so many good choices it was hard to choose! We started with a plate of the bomb complimentary beignets and awesome coffee. Our table had the Southwestern Scramble without the andouille, the Croissant French Toast, the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and the Salmon Bowl. Everything was fresh and amazing! One of the nicer establishments on/near Purdue's campus to grab brunch. It stands apart from the greasy spoons. The estimated wait for a group of five on a Saturday morning (first Saturday after classes started back up) was about 45 minutes. Not too bad considering the circumstances, especially because it wasn't even 45 minutes. Our waitress was really friendly and made sure to get our orders down and food out ASAP once we told her we were on a time crunch. There was quite a variety of food at our table once all the plates arrived. The blueberry, lemon and goat cheese pancakes were a hit, as were the biscuits and gravy with a runny egg. I've never had their boozy breakfast cocktails, but I can imagine they're pretty good. And popular being on a college campus. read more

If you sign up for their club online, they'll email you a coupon for a free order of the biscuit beignets with $10 purchase. The beignets are excellent and earn them another half star. (Even without the coupon they're a reasonably priced $5 for about 20 small beignets). My husband's huevos rancheros were also really good. Their basic American eggs and potatoes dishes are lackluster but it seems like many of the more interesting items (southern items, especially) are very good. The lobster and brie omelette is excellent and is the best thing I've had here other than the beignets. We used their app for the first time yesterday - we thought it had worked great because we got in line from home and our table was ready when we got there, but it turns out they had an inside table for us, even though I had put "outside" on the requests section, and we had our dog with us so we had to wait for an outside table, which ended up taking about 30 minutes. The staff was super apologetic and it was a really nice day so we didn't mind waiting, but if I were going again with the dog I would definitely call them to confirm we need an outside table. read more

I've been here a couple of times before and really enjoyed my food, but I got brunch with my boyfriend today and we were pretty disappointed. We both ordered the shrimp and grits, which we've ordered before and really enjoyed. This time, it seemed like the cook halved one order and put it on two plates, then charged us for both. Also, the grits were not creamy and loose like they were before. They were pretty dry and I had to break up some of the big chunks (there shouldn't be chunks in grits!) with my fork. I talked to the waitress about why the portions were smaller, and she said that they have a new chef. Even though the food is a bit overpriced, in the past I thought it was worth it because the food was really good. Well, not anymore. My boyfriend and I bought the ingredients to make our own shrimp and grits at home (for about half of the cost). I feel like a restaurant shouldn't inspire you to make a better version of a dish at home. I paid about $38 (including tip) since we both ordered extra French bread. I'll include a picture of what we received. It wasn't worth $19, probably not even worth $9. If you're looking for a nice breakfast/brunch place, try Town and Gown Bistro. Or if you're in the mood for a diner breakfast, go to Triple XXX or Route 66. read more

When I heard this place was opening on campus, I was excited - even more so when I looked at the menu and saw eggs benedict. I'm sad to say that overall, it was just okay. I got the Eggs Benedict (subbed the ham for sausage, which for some reason was innovative to them). The hollandaise was heavy with the consistency of mayonnaise. The sausage patty seemed to be homemade with specks of green herbs inside but it was such a chunky piece of meat that it only added to the heaviness of the dish. On a bright note, the egg was poached perfectly. It could've been a bigger egg to even out the proportions of the dish, though. There was a side of potatoes that came with the dish; those were pretty standard. The service is good (though the hostess kept advertising the Bloody Marys) and the staff was friendly. They are understaffed, so we ended up trying to pay up front only to wait a few minutes longer for our waitress to bring the bill to the front. read more

Came here with my boyfriend for the first time after seeing so many good reviews. I'm slightly disappointed with the food. We ordered the traditional day starter and the seasonal pumpkin waffle. The traditional day starter is very disappointing: the sausage is sooo dry and salty. It really tastes like chewing on a meat flavor cracker. We ordered scrambled eggs for this dish, and the eggs were nothing close to soft. The pumpkin waffle was ok. However the side of eggs and sausage patty were still underwhelming. I ordered over medium style eggs and for some reason they put in wayyyy to much butter or oil. One point for food, two points for service because our server was very friendly. Will not come back for brunch tho given the food quality and the long wait. read more

"It was just okay" seemed to be the phrase of the day. I visited ABE for brunch with a friend on a Sunday. Firstly, they close at 2pm on Sundays so if you're doing a late brunch, keep the time in mind. After arriving we had a 20 minute wait which wasn't too bad although the place didn't look that crowded. We arrived a bit before closing so while we were there the restaurant was starting to clear out. Even then, the service was quite slow. I ordered the huevos rancheros and my friend got the cinnamon roll French toast. Both meals were just okay. They also must have been sitting out prior to being served because they were almost room temperature. Huevos rancheros: extremely oily!! The copious amount of melted cheese on top had started to congeal by the time we got our food (yuck!). It also completely covered the rest so I could barely see what I was eating. It includes a fried tortilla which was unnecessary and also added to the oil. The only vegetables were beans onions and peppers which is pretty underwhelming for huevos rancheros. The salsa was watery and tasteless and most definitely from a can. The seasoned potatoes were okay but dry. I got a biscuit on the side and it was decent. Cinnamon roll French toast: essentially a cinnamon roll sliced and dipped in egg. Not terrible but not great. This was VERY sweet and came covered in syrup which was a bit too much. Both of us left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied and just a little bit queasy from all the sugar and oil. Overall, it was just okay but I will not be returning. read more
