I'm not a breakfast person, but the birthday boy invited me, so here I am breaking yet another egg. This is not a cozy diner-style cafe, but a large wide-open place as if Cracker Barrel had minimal and modern decor. Our waitress was nice, but forgot "no ice" in my water. She also forgot to bring lemons, after having repeated both of those requests before not fulfilling them. A second request for lemons ALSO went unfulfilled until they were pointed out below my nose. Note to waitstaff: if fulfilling a request, get the person's attention to show them. Food-wise, I highly recommend the biscuits here. They're willing to substitute biscuit wherever the menu says English muffin, so definitely do that. My dish had over-medium eggs with sausage. My friend's dish had over-hard eggs with bacon. I'll let you guess how they were delivered, but we basically had to swap meats before we ate. And of course, my plate came out first (with his meat, but my eggs) so I'm glad I didn't dig in before his did. Verdict: A bit sloppy in all three areas. Last week our power was out. We decided to get breakfast out since we didn't want to open refrigerator doors. We stopped by Another Broken Egg. We were greeted as soon as we walked inside. The temperature was nice and cool. I know some folks were a little cold but coming from a house with no power and blazing heat outside I was glad it was cold inside the restaurant. We perused the menu and I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with grits and hubs ordered two eggs, bacon and potatoes. I had an order of coffee and water. I probably drank two cups when I realized there was lipstick on the dark rimmed cup. I took one of the beverage napkins and confirmed the lipstick. Our server brought out another cup full of coffee. The food came out quickly and was very good. My omelette and grits were better than hubs eggs, bacon and potatoes in my opinion. The grits were bomb. Hubs ate most of mine. Other than the lipstick on my coffee cup we had a good time. I will return again. read more

I love a good upgrade! So, I have had lackluster experiences at this ABEC...to the point I really didn't want to go back. Takeout, dine in, didn't matter. However, I had a business lunch here today and, well, I was SUPER pleasantly surprised! Now I was there during lunch time on a weekday (no wait) and I didn't get breakfast (I've been burned too many times) but...hoorah! I have finally had a good meal at ONE of these locations. I got the Sonoma club sandwich (slight upcharge) and gumbo lunch duo. SHOCKER...everything was nearly perfect. The sandwich was perfectly toasted and even had some toasty cheese edges, the meat tasted good, the guac was fresh, you name it. The gumbo was bordering on too salty but had a nice depth of flavor and hit the spot. These duos are more than fairly priced (I think $11?) and filling. Service was fine, if a bit aloof, and the manager stopped and saw about us. Overall, WIN. read more

I love the food at this place, but holy crap they were bad at estimating the wait time. We got there around 9:45 and were told it would be a 30-40 min wait but probably quicker. We waited over an hour. Finally we're seated and our waitress was great. I ordered the hash brown Benedict. I also got their spicy Bloody Mary- so good!!! They have a great outdoor patio too. My friend and I decided to have a girls day and meet up for brunch. I was kind of skeptical at first because I had never eaten at Another Broken Egg. Of course I had heard things but everyone's experience isn't always the same. So I agreed to meet up for brunch. Upon entering we were greeted by some friendly faces and asked were we ready to be seated. We were seated in a somewhat open area. The building isn't very big. I love the fact of having a good mimosa in the after noon. I ordered the shrimp and grits. I love seafood so of course I had to order shrimp. The food was good. It did not take a long time to get your order. The food was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was pleasant. I really enjoyed. I will be returning. read more

Quick find on yelp while trying to find a nice brunch place. A bit busy, however, we were still seated quite quickly. They have quite the variety of brunch options to include spiked hot/cold coffees. I went with an omelette and a spiked south of the border hot coffee. The omelette was delicious, not overly cheesy and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the coffee, although I'd probably go with the Irish instead of the south of the border next time. I do, however, recommend to stop by if around the Huntsville area. read more

The food was good as usual, but I also want to commend the professional behavior of the waitstaff. Yesterday my husband and I were sat at a table next to an older woman. I know this woman is a regular as I see her every single time I eat here. This woman had multiple phone conversations on speaker and we had the distinct pleasure of listening to her verbally abuse the customer service rep she had called. Later, she rudely called for our waiter while he was interacting with us and he handled it without missing a beat. Right before we left, she snapped her fingers at the waiter and demanded something. He handled everything gracefully and professionally despite her obvious lack of respect for others and poor home training. read more

Excellent friendly service from the young men at the front to Karen our amazing server. I had the chicken and waffles and the chorizo honey really makes this dish. My husband had the bacquezo omelette and bourbon pancakes. I tried the pancakes and they were so delicious and decadent like a dessert. He said the omelette was the perfect spiciness and very filling. Coffee was good and Karen made sure we kept our cups full. Recommend this place as a good Sunday brunch spot. read more

This place was very crowded but business went by fast. But it took about 30 minutes for our food to come out. And it was kinda slow, when it came to taking food out of course. But when it came out it didn't disappoint. The maple syrup was not the best though. I'm pretty sure it was just sweets n sour sauce. But overall service was very great, waitress was very nice. Update 12/18/21: I have to apologize. Normally, I don't handle this in an open forum. I call to discuss. This restaurant is one where the ingredients are fresh and of higher quality. They've also asked to speak to me direct, and I hope we do. I didn't take the actions I normally do and posted. It's not fair to a business if we don't notify them and then do a 'sneak attack.' If it were my business, I'd want to discuss and not have to be searching web reviews to keep my business. We will definitely give Another Broken Egg another chance. Everyone deserves grace especially after all we've lived through recently. Humanity is the name of the game after all. We've dined here in the past and found the food to be on par with the quality and freshness we seek. The service was attentive as well. This last weekend we showed up about :15 minutes before closing time. We were cordial asking if we could be seated. The young man said the kitchen starts breaking down at 1:55. It wasn't 1:55. Disappointing. I was a bit uncomfortable asking to be seated at 1:47, but the sign says hours are until 2p. It won't stop me from returning. This time. I could definitely tell they were understaffed, and that's not what the 4 stars is for. I did have to wait about 5 minutes before a hostess came to seat me. She was very nice, and my waitress was very nice as well. I'm only taking off a star because of the quality of my food. I decided to try the crab cakes and fried green tomatoes. The crab cakes were very mushy, and they had an odd, old taste to them. The fried green tomatoes were delicious and the cranberry mimosa was very refreshing. From Atlanta, first time visiting. I was looking for a coffee place, so I found this place and it seemed good based on other reviews and area. I enjoyed it. I sat outside being nice weather and also the view of the mountains (hills some call it lol). I ended up getting the French press cold brew along with the chicken omelette, which came with a side of English muffin and fruit. Server was nice, on time and caring. Delicious and Amazing service!! Matt was our waiter and he really went above and beyond! It was my boyfriend and my first time eating at this restaurant and the food and Matt didn't disappoint. I got the crab cake benedict and he got the chicken and waffles and both were delicious. The crab cake is just crab meat and a little breading; no other fillers which is how they should be made. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant and having Matt as your waiter. We will be back! read more

Overall the experience was good. We ate outside because the weather was beautiful. This place is a bit pricey though so be prepared. For 2 meals, a Bloody Mary and a coke we paid over $50 with tip. I had the eggs Benedict without bacon. My whole meal was very boring. Nothing stood out or made it a signature dish. I had to add lots of salt and pepper to get some flavor going. My husband had the lobster Brie omelette and it was super tasty. The sauce, cheese and lobster mixed very well together for an even balance of all the flavors. Now the Bloody Mary was very disappointing. I order a Bloody Mary every brunch restaurant I go to and it won't be from this place again. It looked very pretty but the taste was just not there. Used to come here several times a week they had a lot of the same staff for years in the front of the house but after the long time manager apparently left (because I stopped seeing her and the name on the manager on duty board behind the bar had unfamiliar names on it) my visits have been progressively more disappointing. Haven't been in few months because it quickly fell off my 'regular spots' list after a couple months of less than stellar breakfasts. But the eternal optimist I am, I decided to give them another try hoping it was as just a transition period since a change in managers can throw a restaurant off for a bit until the staff adapt. Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the case. I didn't see a single familiar face on the floor (so apparently most of the long time servers must have followed the manager out the door) and based on the lack of flavor in what used to be one of my favorite omelettes and the greasy but undercooked potatoes I can only assume that the old back of the house left as well. (Although, obviously I can't see back there so I don't know who's there now or before) The young man behind the bar (where I sat) was friendly and did a good job so the service was adequate but the food was very disappointing and it was sad to no longer see a single familiar face that has greeted me for several years now. I also noticed that I didn't see any of the familiar regular customers that before must have come in daily since my irregular schedule of when I came in still seemed to result in seeing the same 8 or 10 folks virtually every single time. That also says a lot, every place has it's regulars and you'll lose one every now and then, people move to new neighborhoods, die, change job schedules whatever that may change habits...but when all your regulars disappear something is going on. When I came in on a regular basis, it was hard to catch a seat at the bar because it was filled with those regulars. Today I sat alone at the bar for well over an hour, not that I minded I never talked to anyone anyway and I didn't have to wait on a seat to open up...but it says I'm not the only one that has noticed the decline. I'll probably try again in 6 months or so hoping for better food, because I'm just that person who gives places several chances having worked in the business and understanding that off days happen but at some point I'll probably just have to accept that it will never be what it was. I was in town for a wedding and decided to visit what use to be one of my favorite breakfast spots in Huntsville Alabama. I checked in and was told we had a 30 minute wait. We went to hobby lobby a few doors down. We came back 10 minutes later to make sure we didn't miss our name being called. No biggie, they told us the next table was our. 20 minutes later and several people getting tables before us later I went to check and see what was the status. The hostess literally asked me how many in my party. She forgot that we were sitting outside and said you guys get the next table again. Now another 10 minutes later we finally got a table yay. I was really expecting better customer service but I didn't receive it from the hostess. Now our waiter almost made up for it. He was great! Very attentive and kind. The food was amazing like always so no complaint there. If the hostess wasn't so rude, they would have gotten higher marks from me. read more
