He went show his military ID but of course he accidentally left it in his cammies. (His fault-he shouldve had it with him) however the cashier still shouldve applied the 10% to honor the veteran discount anyways. He has photos of his id & clear proof of his service. Wasnt good enough. So I said actually we wont be purchasing this then- my husband was kind enough to take back both heavy chair boxes to the section so that the cashier didnt have to carry them. We were completely unsatisfied with our interaction. Its not about the $20 we wouldve saved it was about the cashier's unfriendlyness & clear annoyance to be bothered by us late at night toward close. She should've made it right even if it meant calling a manager. Ive worked retail for years- id never question if someone was a vet or deny them their 10% if they forgot their card out of respect. People don't l typically lie about being a US service member over a few bucks. And really, the 15% shouldve been honored considering I never left the store and the transaction couldve been 1... I didnt realize he wanted to buy more items especially close to $200.
