My very first visit to a Hobby Lobby ever happened last month when my mom and I decided to drive out simply because I wanted to check it out. My mom seems to shop here somewhat often but now that I know, I'll be honest: I don't love the overt Christian branding and that alone will never make this store my first choice. That said, I can't deny the variety they offer. No matter what craft you're into whether it be sewing, quilting, painting, home decor, seasonal projects, etc. Hobby Lobby seems to have just about everything imaginable under one roof even if it may be extremely challenging to find/the layout of the store wasn't great... While I'd prefer to shop elsewhere when possible, I can see myself returning if I'm in a pinch or need something specific. I can admit it's a convenient option. Three stars for selection and convenience with some hesitation on the overall vibes and prices. read more

In my head, sure--I'm out here crocheting whimsical potholders and making my own scented candles like some kind of Pinterest sorceress. In reality? I want to wake up with the skillset of a seasoned maker without ever enduring the YouTube tutorial struggle. I don't want to learn to crochet--I just want to already know, you feel me? But none of that stops me from wandering the aisles of Hobby Lobby like I belong there. Because baby, I do. I may not be gluing rhinestones to wreaths, but when it comes to home decor? This is my Super Bowl. No matter the style, no matter the season--modern farmhouse, vintage cottagecore, "my house looks like an antique shop and I love it" chic--Hobby Lobby always delivers. Fall? They've got pumpkins in every size and personality. Christmas? Don't even get me started unless you want to hear me wax poetic about artificial garland and buffalo plaid. Need a random decorative sign that says "Gather" in cursive? Oh honey, they have seven. And I will consider them all. (Who am I kidding: I already own all seven!) Walking into Hobby Lobby is like entering a magical vortex where time doesn't exist and your cart fills itself. I always leave with twice as many items and zero regrets. I meant ti go check out the fabric section at Hobby Lobby for a lo g time, but they don't open on Sundays and every time I thought of it was on A Sunday. Finally got to go on a Saturday. Since JoAnn closed I have been looking for a place for fabrics. Hobby Lobby's collection was less but I was able to find the items I needed. The price for the items were very reasonable . The clerk was very friendly and helpful. Parking lot is front of the store. I am surprised how full it was! read more

Hobby Lobby is always an awesome experience but today I needed to come in to get some frames for some obscure sized artwork and I was amazed at the patience and kindness of the woman who helped me! We ultimately decided custom framing was the best option. They have all their framing options hung on a Velcro wall, making it easy to take them on and off. Then they can take a picture of your art, scan the frame, and let you see how it would look with that frame. The color was a bit off on the computer versus real life but it was easy to see if that frame would work or not still. They have plastic bags to tape and seal your certificate of authenticity to the back. It's about a 2 week turnaround time or less and they will contact you when it's ready. You pay at pick up. I found the prices fair for custom framing. read more

I love this store, everything is always neat and organized and it's the best place for holiday decor. But whyyyyyy do they have the worlds slowest cashiers?? I know they have to type in the discount for each item but still... there has got to be some sort of requirement to work at a sloth pace to work there. Lots of children's room decorations available. There is a whole section for crafts and faux flowers. The fact that most items are 50% off. Make sure to visit their 90% sections. read more

I forget that I should Not shop here for so many reasons !!! But I'm a crafter and often end up here when I can't find things at other places !!! Today, I witnessed the cashier who did not want to do her job. Her line was clearly a return line /exchange line and I saw her do all she could to not perform this task. She caught managers over for a few things she asked for people to come out of other lines, but the other return line was super long and when she finally did have to take someone she made her business to draw out their transaction so she did not have to take anybody else in the exchange line I feel like if people don't wanna work then maybe they shouldn't something that should have took me less than 15 minutes took me almost 30. It's too bad. We only have the one hobby lobby. Maybe a second store would have better service I Would not recommend. read more

If you have a dead leg when you come here, it's Hoppy Lobby. But I guess that's also if they brew beer here. I've been in here a few times now and on no occasion did I find what I really needed. Which was kind of annoying but then so is your mother when I'm staying over with her on Saturday nights. First and foremost: I do not subscribe to HL religious nor political beliefs. The store is incredibly spacious and very well organized. Chill music plays overhead usually instrumental and often spiritually based, very zen and relaxing. It's a pleasure to shop here with more offerings than any other craft store. They're really as stated in the title a hobby store so things like model airplanes and cars might intrigue more people. The housewares seem endless with tastes from Pier One included. There are wall hangings, fabric, yarn, art supplies, storage, furniture and household furnishings like throw pillows and wall decor. I'd guess about half of the contents (or less) are religious in nature. You might find a decorative sign for a kids room that says "this girl runs on cupcakes and Jesus" next to a dinosaur illustration next to a close up of a cow's face. Lots of down home, farm stuff. And beach-themed stuff. Books. Bibles. Year round holiday decor. Fake flowers. Adobe pots and saucers. Scrapbooking tools, paper galore, stickers and rubber stamps. Just remember they accept but one coupon. The lines are usually long. And they're closed on Sunday. read more

Hobby Lobby, where to begin? This is the best store for all of your crafting needs. Personally my family loves their paint and drawing section. The selection of paper and supplies for drawing and painting is incredible! If we can't get to Buffalo to go to Hyatt's we know we can come to Hobby Lobby and find what we need! My family also loves their holiday section, every holiday they have decorations and crafts to choose from. And if you are having a party the selection for birthdays and other events for decorating is sometimes better than the party stores. I honestly can go on about every department there is always so much to choose from and you are guaranteed to find what you are looking for. Now their prices, beyond reasonable! And they always have sales and if it is not on sale you can use a 40% off coupon that is available in the paper or online! Love Hobby Lobby! read more

I came to Hobby Lobby with an open mind. I ignored all the political and religious bickering that went on a few years ago and I'm glad I did. I felt an amazing energy when I walked into the door. It was like heaven on earth to me. As a lover of home decor and crafting, the store was even more epic than I could have imagined. Like a Michaels but eighty times more fantastic. I could have spent hours in the home decor section. There were signs galore. And they were so well organized. It made my heart happy. But I resisted my urge to spend $200 on home decor and went to find exactly what I was looking for: watercolor supplies. I found the correct aisle and found every watercolor set one could ask for. All of the sets were pretty pricey but I settled on a set and was pleased with the customer satisfaction. Bottom line: I love Hobby Lobby but it's not somewhere I will go often. Mm. What to say about this joint. Pros/Cons list. Pros: -They have SO MANY JARS. Best jar selection and pretty cheap! -TRUNKS. No junk in their trunks. But for real, lots of trunks and boxes and it is OCD heaven. -Home decorations. If you're not artsy, they are. And they have things to decorate your house with. -Good location. Cons: -Incompetent staff. -They are ancient. -Lots of Catholic & Christian phrases on their items...not obvious at all that it's run by religious people -They are not welcoming. Hardcore Catholic. Tips: -Come here with a friend of the same gender and hold hands. You'll make all the workers uncomfortable and it will be hysterical. It's amazing that there are still people like this -Wear your pentagram for them to see. Also is great to be in all black. I love Hobby Lobby! I shop here for home decor and always walk out with something nice for my home. I have quite a few of those sticker quotes on my walls, compliments my living and dinning rooms well and everyone always asks me where I purchased them from. Pssst!!! I got them from Hobby Lobby. Anyhow, the store has a great selection of crafty items, home decor, birthday and party needs, paintings, decorative flowers, baskets, kids crafts, posters, sewing essentials, vases, glassware, mirrors, candles etc., you can shop for at least an hour just browsing. Doesn't seem to matter what time of the day it is either, there are always lengthy lines to checkout. Sometimes they're fast and sometimes they're slow but they always do call extra help up to assist with cashing people out and I can appreciate that! read more

I'm a craft buff, so no matter what state I live in, I'm always looking fora Hobby Lobby Store, cause they usually have everything I need & more. My only problem I have with Hobby Lobby, is that when the cashier asks me if I found everything okay, I tell them, "Yes I found everything I need & more, like too many things I don't need!" lol Now some stores will have rude employees, but many will have pleasant ones as with any type of retail store you shop at. So to judge a store solely on their employees professionalism would be a shame, when you can find everything you need & more at the store itself. So as a former retail employee myself, I know that most days I was pleasant, but once in a while I'd have a bad day & may not be at my best. So I try to take that into consideration & not judge a store I enjoy purchasing things from, by someone else's mood. But hey, that's just me! lol So as a crafter, seamstress & artist, Hobby Lobby is a truly nice store for all my needs & I would highly recommend these stores! read more

This place has everything! I went in looking for some arts/crafts and realized they have much more such as artistic feel furniture, office supplies, and home decor. I really appreciated the Bible Verse items and inspirational quote items. They have a great coupon in the Entertainment Book - 40% off one item! Everyone here is very friendly and service oriented. Dangerous store to spend lots of money in. They have amazing decorating things for the house. You can do so much with what they offer. Cashing out always takes forever. There never seems to be a price tag on one of your items so they have to call for management to help and that takes time. Not so much on this store as hobby lobby in general...They price their items so expensive and give you a "great" discount. Makes it seem like you're getting a great deal when really the discounted amount is what you would pay at other stores. read more

I love Hobby Lobby, because of all of the unique finds! I have a rustic/shabby chic theme for my decor and they usually have what I am looking for and it is at just the right price. If they do not have the item I am eyeing up on sale, I can use the app and open up a 40% off coupon on one item that is not on sale. If an item has a label on it that says our price, you are not able to use a coupon on it because the price that is marked is considered their sale price, because it is already discounted. When I was looking at items for my fairy garden, the employee that I was talking to was very helpful when determining where I should put my fairy garden so that it doesn't get warn away overtime due to the elements. read more

Walked in hoping to get some springtime inspiration. First thing I see, two lanes open with very long lines. Hmmm....already not feeling it but I'm still going to look around. Valentine's stuff 60%off. It's the 20th. It should be 90% by now but whatever. Saw some pretty spring florals and lots of chachki stuff. Not really interested but I keep moving. And then I see it. Marvel items that are so magnanimous they glow. OK they don't *really* glow but it in my eyes, they are luminous. My daughter and I legit just had a conversation about "Marvelizing" our bathroom. Iron man. Hulk. Captain America. Thor. Group images. I'm in heaven. Until I see the pricing. $29.99 for a press board picture. 59.99 for a larger framed image. Grrr. Not happening. I'll haunt the halls of Amazon and get twice as much for those prices. No thanks. I then go to fabrics. They have materials for no sew throws. Awesome! I'll make a ninja turtle throw for my nephew. But how much material do I need. Hmmm. I still don't know. I went to the fabric counter where three of the slowest people on the universe were working. Two people were helping customers, the other, well, who knows what she was doing. I waited. And waited. And waited. Not even a smile or even a simple acknowledgement from an associate. So after 5 minutes, I left the area. And the store. I'll go elsewhere and spend my money. Sure your stuff is pretty hence the two stars but that doesn't matter a hill of beans if you can't get assistance and you wait in long lines. I'm busy. My time is important. As a master crafter, part of me really secretly loves coming here. The other part of me feels uncomfortable as elderly women stare at me as if I am out of place... First of all, there is SO much here. If there is a small demand for anything in the crafting world, there is a section here. However, when asking staff for help, I feel as though I know more about the product than they do... even if I know nothing at all. They also kind of pull the whole JoAnn Fabrics thing- where the prices are always really high... and then claim things are 50/40/30 percent off. Some things are super cheesy/super religious... and others are super cute. From pillows to chalkboards- Hobby Lobby has it. They have a huge holiday/seasonal collection: Christmas time is where they really shine. Love the floral section... and they have so many baskets for gifting/décor etc. Its worth the trip once in a while, but the staff could be a bit more knowledgeable and helpful. Hobby Lobby is both totally overwhelming and completely enjoyable. I nearly fell over when I saw the partition with any color card stock you could imagine. Glittered and patterned, as well as solid colors! The craft paint aisle was as attractively organized. Every color, every finish all arranged by hue. Oh it so appealed to my need for order and organization. Hobby Lobby is a craft store on steroids. Picture the best Michael's or Joann's you've ever been to, add twice as many super organized square feet, and a HUGE home goods area and you have Hobby Lobby. On my visit today I bought a couple of Christmas ornaments (a meatball hoagie and a glittered peanut!) and I got some decorative hooks for my bedroom. They have a huge selection of wall hangings, frames, fabric, fake flowers... I mean really, this place is a gold mine! The only things I don't like: most items are made in China and a bit over priced for what they are (despite the standing discounts of 30, 40, 50% off). Also, it was freaking freezing in there today. I'm normally always hot and schvitzing but in Hobby Lobby I had my jacket zipped up completely and was still cold. This is a craft store, not a yarn shop. Setting aside the fact that their business practices are ridiculous, there's no real selection when it comes to yarn. Most of it is their own brand, which isn't of the quality one would hope it would be for the price they ask. First things first, Hobby Lobby is reasonably priced, not cheap. When a company inflates their prices 50% and then throws a big sign up that says 50% off, guess what, it's still just reasonably priced and not a cheap unbelievable deal. Great idea for suckers; but be aware and don't be fooled by big discount signs. I like this location better than the one in Depew, mostly because it is cleaner and much more organized. There's without a doubt an endless supply of decorations for your every need. Anything you could want for Christmas time, however while shopping yesterday I was unable to find lit garland and the only garland they did have felt very fake and was $119. Their Hanukkah section was laughable, and was given the space of an end cap and that's it, not surprised yet still disappointing. Greeting cards, scrapbooks, photo albums (except no albums without the space to write a comment next to the photos, I don't like writing a caption in my albums, the photo is good enough so that's unfortunate for me) every arts and craft project you could imagine, paints, every DIY you could think of, home furnishings, fake flowers, picture frames, the list is endless, the store is massive. The items in this store are very religious so that's a little strange for me as I walk down the aisles. So, why the 2 stars? Well, just yesterday I stopped in and decided to purchase an entryway table. I inquired about the price and then decided to buy it. The woman who gave me the price knew I was buying it, watched me pick it up and carry it at my side through the store while simultaneously pushing my cart. The entryway table didn't fit in the cart so I was awkwardly carrying it by my side throughout the store. A few minutes later another employee walked behind me and passed me by too. Now, if I were an employee here, instinctually I would ask if the person carrying this awkwardly large entryway table at her side while also trying to push a cart wanted to take the table off my hands and keep it up front for me until I was finished the rest of my shopping. That's just me I guess. When I made it to the check out line, which had no indication of a purchase or return line, I bought my items and told the cashier I wanted to return unopened straws. She told me she was unable to do the return and that I needed to get on the other line. There was about 10 other people on line, so when I asked if I could hop to the next register and do the return, she hinted I would have to get back on line and that wasn't happening. Clear signage showing where to stand for returns and where to stand for purchases would be beneficial. After I made my purchase, I was again struggling to push my cart while carrying the large table by my side to my car. A little assistance would have been very, very much appreciated. Make sure you save your receipt if you plan on returning something because if you don't, you'll automatically be given a price that's 50% less of the sticker price just in case it was discounted when you purchased it, that policy I can understand, just wish there was a better record of items purchased that they could tie to your credit card to find the exact price you paid for it. Another reviewer mentioned politics don't belong in reviews and while I agree, I'll say that another star is coming off because of the subject that shall not be discussed here, and that's a no brainer for me. read more

Usually, I like Hobby Lobby. They have a great selection of merchandise, especially frames. My reason for the low rating is because of the way 2 cashiers handled an issue with their credit card chip reader. My card did not read the first 2 times I inserted it, and on the 3rd try, it said declined. I asked the clerk if she could let me slide the cards instead. She said that would not work. I asked if she could enter the numbers manually. She responded (mumbling the entire time) they are not allowed to handle credit cards. I said I would read her the numbers. She the finally admitted they can't even do that. She called over another cashier for help. I asked what I should do; she responded in a snotty tone " it's declined. Call your bank" ...last I checked my bank doesn't have anything to do with my credit card. I called my card company and they said the card was good and they could see hobby lobby tried to run the charge through.(they also suggested the clerk run the card manually, and were super confused when I said clerks at hobby lobby can't do that) the first clerk proceeded to remove the items from my bag like I had no business shopping there. Finally, I went to a different line where a nice clerk let me run my card and it was fine. No apologies, no facial expressions, but the first clerk did yell out across the aisle to her that she had given me half off of a full price frame, and I needed to be charged more.
