Seemingly in the middle of rural upstate NY is this gem of a restaurant. The server and everyone on the staff that interacted with us were simply lovely! Kind, helpful and joyful. I ordered a turkey melt with onion rings, and my friend had a burger with fried which she claimed was one of the best she had eaten in a long time. Accompanied by "sassy sauce" our fries and onion rings were dipped in this delightful yet spicy accoutrement! My turkey melt was delicious- carved turkey- not slimy cold cuts, cheese and banana peppers were a perfect and delectable combination on lightly toasted bread- simply marvelous! For desert- and they are all lovingly homemade, I had a mixed berry pie with ice cream and my friend had a slice of Dutch apple pie! Both equally and fabulously delicious! We left stuffed to the gills and so glad that we turned the truck around to try this hidden gem! Don't pass it up- stop by- it's worth it!

While my wife enjoyed her breakfast it was not without sine distractors as the hash was lacking sufficient meat and any real flavor. It may be a local favorite, but I've had better...especially for the money.

We have been here several times and come for their burgers. They also have a great selection of craft brews. The bartender was also working as our server and was very attentive and also caught an error in one of our parties plates and quickly remedied the situation without question. This time we diverted a bit and I had the Charleston. It was a very good chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese and a homemade ranch dressing. The ale house Philly was equally delicious. It appears that they have added to their menu since we were last here as well.

Inside is a typical bar layout that leads to the crowded outdoor patio overlooking the river. Lots of unclean, uncleared tables. Staff wasn't rude but they sure as heck weren't excited to be there. The "jumbo wings" were not jumbo. And if these are the best rated in upstate then there is a serious wing problem around here. Some of them were overcooked and crunchy and some of them were barely cooked. The garlic parm is. Nothing but an oily greasy mess. And then there was the bill... $10 for FIVE wings and 50 cents for a tiny thing of blue cheese. Unreal. They also added in credit card fee, which is no longer allowed in NYS. Meh, I'll pass on this place again.

Unfortunately, the…read moreowner's behavior completely overshadowed the food, and after giving her three chances, I won't spend my money there again. On our first visit, my 87-year-old father casually mentioned that he hadn't known the place existed. The owner responded by yelling at him about how long the business has been open and listing other places she owns, leaving him feeling embarrassed and ignorant. The final straw happened during my most recent visit. I flew in from Las Vegas and wanted to take my parents, both in their 80s, to get sandwiches. Standing for long periods is difficult for them, so they sat briefly in the dining area while I ordered. They were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. They were immediately yelled at and told they could not sit there unless they ordered from the dinner menu. My father politely explained that we were ordering sandwiches and that his daughter had just flown in. The owner said it didn't matter--if we weren't ordering off the dinner menu, we had to leave. As a result, we were forced to eat in our car in the middle of winter. Great food does not excuse disrespectful, unkind treatment--especially toward elderly customers. The lack of compassion was shocking, and I will not return.

First off extremely friendly service and safe service. They are doing everything by the book to protect their guests. The waitress could not have been sweeter and gave me a great suggestion for a cocktail and on what to order for dinner. Started off with the pretzel appetizer bc my husband loves pretzels and I love a good homemade cheese sauce. Salads were nice and fresh and I loved the pickled red onion. The dressings are made in house and you can tell. My husband had the prime rib Friday night special and it was cooked to his liking. Nice cut of meat and I stole an onion ring and it was yummy. I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious! Didn't try dessert this time around but they sounded good.

Had a terrible experience a couple of years ago where the pickup order I placed for chili (and had…read morebeen placing regularly for a year and a half) wasn't the same size as it had always been, though the menu hadn't changed. Called the restaurant when I got home and realized and the owner proceeded to yell at me/my boyfriend blaming us for the issue?! She even said "so I've been over feeding you for a year and a half!" It was the craziest experience. After she hung up on us and we called back to try to get the remaining chili from our order she told us to come there and she'd make it right, so we got into the car and went there. She proceeded to throw our money at us! She was yelling and screaming and she called the cops - all because the chili wasn't the right sized container! Never will I go here again. She's a nutjob. (I have heard that she's behaved this way to others as well.) UPDATE: After received by the reply shown below from the owner, I decided to dig through my photos to find the pictures I took, and intended to leave on my Yelp review in November of 2021, 2 years ago. The reason I didn't leave it then is because my review was so long it wouldn't allow me to post it. Today I went to Yelp to review another business and was prompted to finish this review, so here are more details, for your enjoyment! The owner tried to explain away her improperly filling the order by blaming the pandemic on supply shortages, but the problem with that statement is that I took pictures then, and the COI trainers I received two weeks apart were exactly the same size. (Yes, I do know how to calculate ounces. I'm a chef and business owner myself.) You will also see the receipts attached, as they charged us extra when we went back in to get our order fixed. As you can read from her reply, she's wildly unstable. I had been going to her restaurant for year and a half, ordering the same exact thing and bringing it back for my staff to have as a special meal. This was no mistake on my part. Her staff filled the order wrong, charged me extra, and she couldn't just make it right!
