I stopped by here this past Tuesday morning with my wife and her parents for coffee. We were headed to the national monuments area and saw that we would stop by the Annie Lode Coffee Cabin and so decided to stop. As the name would imply, this place is a cabin or what I like to call a coffee hut. There are windows on both sides of it that you can drive up to and place your order. On this morning there was a lady working the windows and a gentleman pulling the espresso shots. You see they don't have any drip coffee here, only Espresso, which I think is great. For my coffee on this morning I went with my usual Large Americano while my wife and her mother went with small Americanos. After letting it cool for a bit I was finally able to try it and it was good. The coffee was strong with a great rich flavor to it that finished nice and smooth. In my short time in the Black Hills/Rapid City area, I would actually call this my favorite. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. This was definitely my favorite coffee that I was able to taste in the short time we were in the area. read more

Pleasant, friendly , and extremely Good Value mom & pop coffee cabin. We got 4 large drinks and 4 breakfast sandwich items for $30, you can't do that at Starbucks. Furthermore, we chatted with the owner(s) while they worked and they were happy to hold a conversation and made sure to smile. Good place to get coffee if you're ever in this neck of the woods. Heres the deal, its a drive thru coffee cabin, with drive thru windows on two sides, a few minutes outside the main area of Hill City. maybe 5-10 mins out. But trust me when I say it's worth it, Besides why would you feel the need to be in a hurry anyway in this beautiful part of the country? I hit this spot yesterday morning before heading to Rushmore and I ordered the Saturday special which was a Caramel Frappe and it was perfect. It was not over powered with sweetness and I could actually taste the coffee in it, unlike some other places.....Ahem...Starbucks! This was the perfect frozen coffee treat! This little cabin is a great little treasure! I was just passing through the area to see my Rushmore and needed a morning coffee along the way. They have a full coffee and espresso selection. It was chai Tuesday so I got a discount on my favorite drink! The dirty chai was sooo delicious! It was sweet, but still spicy! I enjoyed it thoroughly. Drive thru only. Good latte and steamers for kids. Food served is prepackaged type, nothing great. A tiny cabin with a wonderful husband/wife running the place. They were very nice and great service. My wife really liked her latte but the americano I had was not good. The owners were so personable and I enjoyed our conversation. Kids loved their steamers. Next time I'll order something else. It's good but can't go with 5 star on this one. read more

My brother and I were so happy to find this coffee cabin when we were staying in Hill City for a week. It was just down the road from our hotel but we would have driven much further. Delicious coffee, friendly staff, and good quick food options. We stopped at least once each day we were there. Bonus: they have a daily coffee special posted on a board outside. So if you choose to buy that drink, you get a little discount. The building has a window on both sides which was great when we were in a bit of a hurry to meet up with the rest of the family. read more
