Sausage, egg, and cheese on a Cuban

The low reviews are weird. Not sure what people are expecting. It's a breakfast place with great coffee and a cool vibe. The breakfast sandwich was very good. Get over yourselves.

My wife gave it one more try and this is what she got? Absolutely terrible for over $20 with just coffee added.

My husband and I decided to try Annex since it was close to the hotel we were staying at. I had the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on Cuban bread, while my husband went for the sausage version. I was excited because I love Cuban bread, but unfortunately, the sandwiches were just okay. They lacked a bit of flavor, and the egg-to-sandwich ratio could've been better. The cold brew coffee was decent, though I asked for caramel flavor and could barely taste it. The staff were friendly, and the location offers amazing views. The best part was definitely the convenience and atmosphere. It's a good spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.

The place is adorable! We went here for breakfast. They have great drinks, latte and coffee and my family had breakfast sandwiches and kids had cinnamon rolls. Everything was delicious. We sat outside and had a nice view of the park and water.

Stopped in to cool down and get a quick bite. Hubby had a lemon poppyseed muffin. I got a chocolate croissant and omg so good! It had chocolate slathered inside and it was heated. It was heaven! Cute little place and staff was friendly. Saw people eating sandwiches and they looked really good.

Very good prices for downtown st Pete with lovely little sandwiches! The sandwiches came out hot and fresh tasting, the restaurant runs warm probably due to the windows facing Beach drive. This is a perfect pit stop with a relaxing atmosphere

comically bad i got the breakfast sandwich and it was flavorless. like truly flavorless i was thinking i had covid and lost my sense of taste lol. it was also really flat, comparable to mcdonald's breakfast. smells like cigars inside because of whatever is next door. the workers were nice though! but food and ambiance was bad. there are so many better places to go within 5 minute walk so it makes this place seem way worse

    Delicious breakfast sandwich

This little place is fantastic! I always get the same thing (creature of habit) a large decaf caramel almond milk latte (that they always get right!) And a croissant with egg and cheese. Their croissants are always light yet crunchy. Perfect Every time! And it's only $11.50 Oh and super nice people that work there. Pro tip...check out their wine selection

Cool little sandwich/breakfast spot just off the waterfront area. Close to St. Pete's artsy areas. Good for a quick bite.

Best Cuban sandwiches in Tampa bay! Always have cold drinks, snacks and whatever things you'd need for a day in the sun.

This place demands attention from the moment you walk in. My wife opted for eggs and bacon, while I went for the cheeseburger. We also shared a French toast, which proved to be the standout dish. It's important to note that this was a shared experience, as we barely managed to finish our portion. The menu offers a brunch selection that's worth exploring. Be prepared to savor every bite, as the food quality here is commendable. Service and flow are both excellent , ensuring a pleasant dining experience. A straightforward menu gives a decent variety and the chef delivered on the flavor. We had the egg Benedict the Gudda grits, and the (not so) French toast. Overall, the food was delicious, but I was extremely disappointed with the "French toast" for some reason, the chef opted for not doing an egg/milk bath for their French toast, which to me is a grave mistake, who wants to dry French toast? This liberty could be excused, and tolerable for the sake of creativity and innovation, IF it was openly, shared on the menu, or by the server. However, this came to a COMPLETE surprise to me AFTER ordering and receiving it. I've never had DRY French toast, nor do I ever wish to again despite the tasty toppings and well executed cinnamon butter cream, it was still not an enjoyable experience, especially if you're expecting classic French toast. That said the eggs Benedict was phenomenal. The pork is perfectly cooked. The biscuits are light and fluffy. And the sauce was immaculate. The Gudda grits surprise me while not being creamy in the same way of grit, I've had in the past, these retained their grit structure, but it kind of melted in your mouth, providing that creamy texture and they add chopped bacon and a sweet I would guess type of reduction in just the right amount to balance the flavor of the Gudda. I do wish they had sausage and hash browns. But it's not that kind of place. My last complaint would be in the potatoes that come with the Benedict. Whatever other option, they have picked those get anything, but those ours came undercooked, and they refried them for us, and they still were just below average which for a place like this. I expected more. Overall, not a bad place. The coffee was phenomenal. I had a dirty Matcha, and it was perfectly executed. Prices aren't terrible for what you'd expect from downtown St Pete at a fancy place, so I was happy. Service was good and friendly. After I expressed my dissatisfaction with the French toast, the manager came over and offered his apologies and remove the item from my bill, even offered to bring us something else, and to have a beverage to go to make up for it. However, I was at the end of our mail and I was ready to get going with the rest of my day, so I said thank you and we departed. Overall, I will not come back for French toast but that eggs Benedict. I would definitely come back and try something else as well. Give it a shot. Just DONT get the French toast. If you like normal French toast.

The Wooden Rooster: Where My Morning Got Its Life Together Before I Did…read more Listen... I came here expecting "just a crepe." What I got was a full-on personality upgrade. First off--the vibe. Somehow it's better than Kraft (yeah I said it), but like... calmer, cooler, and not screaming at you before coffee. It's peaceful, shady, low-noise... the kind of place where you feel like you should start journaling or making better life decisions. Now let's talk food. I ordered The B.E.A.S.T. and I'm not exaggerating when I say this thing deserves its own documentary. Bacon. Pesto. Sun-dried tomatoes. Eggs. It was like every breakfast all-star showed up and said, "Let's absolutely dominate this guy's morning." Perfect balance. Crispy, creamy, savory... I took one bite and immediately forgave myself for everything I've ever done wrong. And honestly? This is a WAY better place to start your morning than the bagel place down the street. You know the one. We've all settled for it. We don't have to live like that anymore. Also--huge shoutout to the service. These people were so nice I almost asked if they wanted to come manage my personal life too. Fast, friendly, and somehow still chill. Bonus points for the menu because where else can you go from a Nutty Joe dessert crepe to a Cubano crepe to a PB&J throwback without anyone questioning your life choices? Final verdict: If you're in downtown St. Pete and not coming here, you're making your mornings unnecessarily harder than they need to be. Wooden Rooster didn't just feed me-- it emotionally supported me.
