I have had a lot of dental work done over the years (several cavities filled and an implant from a tooth I knocked out in my youth) and so I know how important it is to find a dentist that is not only likeable but competent. Dr. Hicks came highly recommended from everything I read on the internet. Luckily I was not in any hurry for a new patient appointment (just due for a cleaning and did not have any issues to report) because it took several months to get me in. If I had a more urgent issue they may have taken additional steps to get me in sooner--not sure, as that wasn't the case for me. My appointment started promptly. The hygienist assigned to me was kind and did a great job taking x-rays and cleaning my teeth. Dr. Hicks was friendly and professional. I have had some dentists that try to sell me nonsense cosmetic crap for my teeth, and was glad that Dr. Hicks and her team did no such thing. Everyone in the office was upbeat and friendly: you can tell the staff is treated well, because the morale is high. I would recommend Dr. Hicks to anyone looking for a new dentist.

My wife and I have been going to this location for well over 10 years. About 4 years ago (+/-),…read morethe main dentist left. It happened right after a corporate takeover. Things have steadily gotten worse. Cleaning before last, the hygienist hurt me. After the cleaning, the dentist reviewed photos of work that she suggested be done. One photo showed a cut to my gum. It was plain as day. However, she covered for the hygienist and said it was a pixel flaw ... or something to that effect. I knew better. My wife's cleaning was terrible as well...terrible. Her hygienist hurt her too. And, it was a different hygienist! Though my last cleaning went very well with a different hygienist, they charged my wife a total of $109 for laser treatment (used to stop gum bleeding during the cleaning process). Not once has my wife ever been told that her gums bled (excessively) during cleaning. The front staff warn you at check in that if it's necessary, they'll use the treatment and that there is an additional charge. They're setting you up. We're never going back...

Dr. Mitchell made that simple -- he not only has excellent depth in general and aesthetic dentistry but is also just an incredibly nice person. I'm someone who experiences major anxiety in the chair, and I've found Dr. Mitchell's easygoing demeanor a huge relief. I also appreciate that the hygienist is extremely respectful and patient-focused. For instance, I'd had my last bitewings eleven months before, and before my arrival, she had noticed that and double-checked with my insurance to ensure I was eligible, but more important, she also asked me if I would prefer to have them a little early or wait until my next visit. It's completely refreshing to have the staff ask what the patient wants, instead of trying to push services or products. They wouldn't take care of the two fillings they claimed I needed, nor would they just do a traditional cleaning. I left in a huff. When I tried to have the extensive X-rays sent to my new dentist, I never heard from them, and no X-rays were forwarded. Turns out they never charged my insurance for the X-rays, but did charge for a periodic exam. Not what I had scheduled! My new dentist had to start from scratch. Without any input from me, she commented on the health of my gums! No need for a deep cleaning, and she found three cavities and one filling missing some silver.
