AMAZING HOSTEL. I…read morestayed at this hotel for two nights, then one night at Geneva Hostel, then back here for my last night. It was great because they were both very close to each other, making the move quick and easy. The location is relatively close to many of the big shopping districts and tourist sites, and is very close to the Gare Cornavin station, which made it very easy to get to and from the airport. My first two nights, I stayed in a double bed private room, and my last night, I stayed in a three people dorm. All rooms come with lockers and a sink, and I loved that the outlet was right above your bed, and with USB charger ports. The receptionist, Vivian (Vivienne? Vivien?) was so so sweet and made my check in and check out process both times very easy. He remembered me when I checked in for my second time, which was very sweet. You're provided with sheets and a towel, and locks for lockers are provided for a deposit that you get back after returning it. There's also individual refrigerator lockers that you can borrow for another deposit, if you don't want to use the communal fridge. Everything about the hostel was great - I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Geneva!

I stayed two nights at City Hostel on two separate occasions in the last two weeks. Both times I…read morestayed in a three-bed, female-only dorm with a shared bathroom for half of the floor (32 CHF per night). The rooms are small, but the facilities are quite nice other than that. There are sinks and mirrors in the rooms and two showers per half-floor, but I never had a wait and the water temperature is good (which is a rarity in hostels). For a 10 Euro deposit, they provide refrigerator lockers, which is quite a lifesaver in Geneva where food will cost you your arm. Seriously, use the fridge and get all your food at Manor or Lidl! Check out is at 10am, but they provide lockers downstairs so that you can store your stuff and still make use of the day. They will even let you hang out in the common room after you've checked out! Things to beware: The key cards snap in half at the slightest touch. It happened to me TWICE. The first time the guy at the front desk charged me 5 CHF, but the second time the big guy in charge was at the desk and seemed a big angry that I had been charged the first time. So if they charge you, wait and talk to someone else! Only other downside: No complementary breakfast :-( But, again, the fridge lockers makes this AOK.

The room was a little hot (in October) so I would maybe suggest bringing a little fan. Located very close to the lake in a seemingly quiet, safe neighborhood only a few miles from the airport. Definitely doesn't seem like a party hostel, the people were not very social.

It was: 1. amazingly cheap (~33 euros for an 8 female dormitory) 2. amazing location, close to everything 3. BEAUTIFUL. I felt like I was staying at an actual hotel! The staircase leading up to the rooms, the kitchen, and the reception area were all beautiful. The rooms were also spacious. 4. Easy & friendly reception, open at all hours 5. FREE BREAKFAST. And the breakfast wasn't just dry bread and jam like other places I've been to. There's drinks (coffee, hot chocolate, tea, orange juice, apple juice, milk), cereal, yogurt, muesli, bread with cheese, butter, and jam. 6. secure, with big lockers in the room for each person that open with your key. 7. wifi in the room and throughout the building The only thing I didn't like about this hostel was the showers - it was the kind where the button has to be pressed for the water to come out, which was a hassle and not the most user-friendly. They also provide you with a free city transportation card for your stay at the hostel, which is good for the trains, busses, trams, and boats.

Then you get there and it's a dump? You see the essence of the place in the photos, but the reality isn't as ideal. Slo Living Hostel is different. Their photos don't deceive. Their space is beautiful. Other positives: The place is really clean. The rooms are secure. Nothing's falling a part. They have a decent breakfast comparable to other hostels around Lyon and Europe. They have secure WiFi which is really important. They have a beautiful courtyard to gather with others or in which to enjoy a meal. Guest rooms look out over this space. The only negatives is that this hostel isn't located in a neighborhood bustling with a plethora of great restaurants, cafes, shops, and museums. If you're up for the walk, you can get to these places. Or just grab an Uber or take the subway. Slo Living is close to le Rhône which is scenic from either bank and a nice walk over le Rhône to Rue des Marronniers where you can find lots of good, traditional restaurants reasonably priced. Also, during the summer months when it's imperative to keep the windows open, if you're sharing the hostel with one or more smokers then their cigarette smoke will waft into the guest rooms which can be unpleasant especially if you're sensitive to it because of asthma or rhinitis. It doesn't sound like they will change this policy any time soon which is too bad.

This hostel is super clean, cute, and modern with a hipster kinda vibe (pale wood themed, white…read moreaccents). Dorm beds each have a personal lamp, outlet, mini-shelf, four hooks for hanging clothing and even a little mirror! The dorm rooms also have a few small bean bag style chairs so you can sit next to someone's bunk and chat. And there are luggage lockers for each bed, of course. Despite it being a hostel, I felt really comfortable and at ease chilling and had an easy time sleeping at night. I wouldn't mind staying here for an extended period of time (I only stayed two nights) and they seem to have events (e.g. cocktail bar) every night but Sun/Mon. The bunks are constructed such that there is a sense of privacy (no curtains, but the wood strips by the pillow area and ladder by the feet cover your bunk somewhat). Shared floor bathrooms are nice and spacious with very private stalls (floor to ceiling) and showers with an all-purpose wash dispenser provided. The lounge area has some bean bags, bookshelves, and a desktop computer, and is connected to the coffeeshop, which is connected to the guest kitchen (there is also a foosball table by the kitchen). They play pretty good music in the coffeeshop/lounge area so it's nice to chill there in the evening before sleeping.

The staff was friendly and offered to bring my wife's bag up to the third floor. Me? I had to schlep my own bag. Anyway, this is a very nice hotel with A/C! First one during this trip. Very convenient to downtown Morges. The rooms we had are not large, but the are ok. Bathroom recently renovated. The are some rooms in a separate building that look bigger but cost more, I'm sure. There's a very nice restaurant that we haven't tried yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Either way I'm sorry but I just can't recommend this place due to the roommate situation. The staff is super nice, the view is amazing and the price is spot on but goddamn druggies who smoke indoors and get pissed off when you walk into a bedroom at 3 in the afternoon to lay down your bags just made me say 'nope.'

The service itself was pretty good, I talked to one of the managers, and it was a bit difficult at first because of our different accents, but once we got past that he was very helpful and definitely was very accommodating! The hostel itself is pretty nice! There's a complementary breakfast: fresh bread, slices of meats and cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, juice, milk and even coffee! Most hostels I know don't even serve any sort of breakfast, so this was pleasant. The rooms are neat and clean. Linen, pillow and duvet is provided. Towels can be put down for 10 francs and returned to you once you've returned the towel. The shower facilities were also pretty good and clean! It's a locked door, has hooks, a small shelf, and then a shower curtain for the shower section, with also a ledge to place toiletries on. It's literally less than a 5 minute walk from the lake and next to the Olympic headquarters. The bus is just not too far outside from the hostel so makes it not too difficult to get into the town centre.
