Anna was AMAZING and completely saved me from having to buy a new wedding dress. Due to COVID-19, my wedding had to be moved from Hawaii to TX less than 6 weeks before our date. The dress was shipped to Texas, but after I had surgery a month out, it did not fit. Anna found every millimeter on that dress that she could and it fit! She also made the bustle more functional and added a strap inside the dress for support. I will never go anywhere else but to Anna! I bought a vintage Chanel tweed LBJ and needed it sized down a couple sizes. When I called my Chanel boutique they referred me to Anna for alterations to the jacket. I needed to take in a few inches in the seam in the back of the jacket (that's the great thing about Chanel - their jackets can be altered down a couple sizes) and they said they wouldn't cut the silk lining or chain on the bottom of the jacket. They are super busy so it took a little bit of time to get my jacket back but I didn't mind. I'd rather have someone do a good job instead of rushing. This place is hot, cramped, stuffy, and full of people giving you dirty looks. There's no entrance, you just walk into a closet full of people. The space to try on clothes barely has enough room to stand in, and is filled with a bunch of crap. No one seems to really care that you're there. Besides the bad experience, she also ruined my dress. she didn't take it in enough in some places, and then hemmed the dress too short so now I can't wear it. She was gruff and pushy and I felt extremely unwelcome the entire time I was there. read more

Anna did an amazing job altering my wedding dress. I purchased a wedding dress with a long train. Since I was getting married outside in Kauai, I wanted to remove it. It wasn't an easy hem based on the style of my dress. The bridal shop that I purchased the dress from gave me an estimate of $250 just to hem it. I brought it to Anna and it only cost $100. Very bad experience with Anna's Tailoring & Alterations. I brought a suit for minor alterations and have been directed to add additional alternations. The employee was not able to give me the price I was going to pay despite me insisting. One week later when I picked up the suit, I was very surprised by the price (an absolute rip off) that I was absolutely not communicated first (I would have never accepted). They certified that they tried to reach me 2 times to communicate the price. I did not received any call.... Bad explanations of the alternations that will be made and no price communication is not a commercial method. I definitely don't recommend this place. read more

Three weeks and $190 to hem and taper two pairs of pants seemed a little ridiculous. After two weeks I went back to try them on. When they didn't fit right I asked if some adjustments could be made. That's when she got rude.. I was only asking the pants to be tailored to a slim fit like pretty much all suits are these days. It would help if they studied fashion so they stayed in touch with what things are suppose to look likes. Also, They only accept cash so so much for paying taxes like the rest of the world. Better than you average dry cleaner tailor but not worth the price or the lack of service. read more

Down filled designer leather coat frayed at the cuffs after a few wears and the store sent it to two different tailors who were not able to fix it. They finally sent it to Anna who did an amazing job. It looks nicer than the original stitching. She was also very nice and provided good customer service. I wish I could give a rating of 10. Anna was fabulous! I brought my designer wedding dress to Anna at the recommendation of a bridal salon near by. I had purchased my wedding dress when I was visiting my brother in Colorado and so couldn't get the dress altered there and other bridal salons in SF wouldn't do it because I didn't purchase my dress from them. I saw Anna about 10 weeks before the wedding. At the time I was working in NYC and living in SF and only coming home every 2 weeks. The first time I went to see Anna, a customer was leaving and when I told her I had a wedding dress to be altered, she said Anna could do anything, that was a good sign....and now after having my dress completed and amazing, I have to concur. After trying on the dress and discussing the changes with Anna, I told her I felt chunky and wanted to lose weight, she said 'no problem, come back in 4 weeks and we'll begin then'. I was worried about the time to do all the alterations (very fancy dress!), but she was confident she could get it done. 4 weeks later, I came back thinner and ready to go. She then pinned the changes on me. 2 weeks later I came back and all changes were hand stitched and the dress was perfect (I want to make it clear that the dress had lots of boning and lots of beading on the bust, waist and the back....and it was all done) . We discussed making it tighter as I was still losing weight......and this was never an issue for Anna. We talked about a bustle. I was undecided about what I wanted (I can be very fussy sometimes), so she said bring a friend. A week later my friend came with me and Anna showed her the 2 different bustles we decided on and my friend recommended one. 2 weeks later the dress was completed bustle and all......I only actually needed 2 actual fittings, she was fantastic and the dress was fabulous. It fit exactly as I wanted and I had described to Anna and everyone at the wedding said it was a fabulous dress and it was.......I tella having a perfectly fitting wedding dress makes you feel comfortable (not tugging here or there) and just completes everything on the day. On top of that....at our first meeting she gave me a quote for the changes to the bodice as well as hemming the many many layers of the skirt. During one of the fittings with shoes on, the hem was perfect as is. So when I picked up the dress Anna gave me a huge discount because she didn't work on the hem and I didn't even have to ask! I can't thank Anna and her staff enough for what they did with my dress. I definitely recommend bringing your wedding dress to Anna. She alters all sorts of other items of clothing as well. The hem on my beautiful Hermes scarf that a relative gave me years ago was becoming unraveled. Tried to fix it myself and finally gave up - it's very delicate work and frustratingly time consuming. After calling a few places regarding hemming, and getting a vague "maybe", I called Hermes. They recommended Anna, who is their tailor of choice. Her shop did a fantastic job - tiny uniform stitching on silk - no snags or slip-ups. Anna and her assistants were absolutely charming, and the price was much cheaper than buying a new Hermes scarf. I don't like to leave bad reviews but I came in with simple alterations for a wedding dress (take in a bit of sides and top of strapless, and take a small bit of length) and left here with a dress I can't comfortably sit down in and a strapless top that will not stay up in, not to mention $550 for a dress I will not be wearing! The moment I walked in I felt unwelcome and had to get someone's attention though there was a group right there eating lunch and other people in the back sewing. Anna insulted my dress twice saying I shouldn't wear a top piece which I felt made the dress, and when I asked if she could do alterations on it after she took in the strapless dress because it was now baggy she gruffly said "I don't even know why you are even wearing this part!" even when I was planning on paying more for the alteration. She originally said we would do one fitting and when I needed more because the dress looked silly with bits hanging out she seemed like it was a huge burden. The hem line on the bottom looks unprofessional and there are long strings hanging out. I ended up having to buy a sample dress because my wedding is in a month and when I told other tailors how much I payed they were shocked and told me it was a huge rip off. I can't speak for their other work but I would not recommend getting a wedding dress tailored here. read more

The location is great, the pricing is more than fair, and they always have your tailoring done when they say it will be. The folks there are very nice and definitely take their craft very seriously. Anna did the tailoring for my wedding dress. She did not alter the boning on the bust, even though she had to bring in the waist (including the top half of the dress) about 2 inches. I don't know why she didn't the bust wouldn't need altering or that she could fix it by adding padding. I went to her three times to make adjustments, yet the bust never fit properly. I wouldn't recommend her for complex tailoring, but I think she would be good for simple fixes. read more

Anna did an excellent job on taking in my backless wedding dress and adjusting the straps. Because of the dress being backless, there was little support for the ladies, but after Anna was done it fit like a glove and plenty of support. The top is lace covered which I am sure is tricky to work with, and it still looks beautiful. I brought the dress in quite last minute so needed a quick turn around, and Anna had it done within a week. The cost was very reasonable - $150. My husband and I decided on a low key San Francisco City Hall wedding. Even though it was just a ceremony, I still wanted the perfect dress. I found one that was almost perfect, it just needed some altering to the bust and it needed to be taken in. Anna and her team did an excellent job! I found a lace Marchesa dress that came to the knee with an organza sash. There was only one left and it was a size too big. It also had a bow/flower thing on the chest that I was not a fan of. But I loved the potential, and it came the closest to my idea of a non-wedding wedding dress, so I got it. I brought it to Anna to work her magic. She removed the bow/flower at the chest, and took it in so that it fit like a glove. It turned out beautifully! In addition to her talent, I also like Anna's personality - she is stylish and fun! My husband also got a suit 2 days before the wedding that needed to be tailored. Anna made fun of him for waiting till the last minute, but tailored the suit perfectly in a short amount of time. I highly recommend her and will definitely be using her for any future tailoring. read more

I bought my wedding dress on the BHLDN website and loved it, but it was too long. I was anxious about having it hemmed as the bottom is very detailed with lots of beading, sequins, and some silk flowers sewn on. I took it to Anna and she did a beautiful job at a very reasonable price. She also finished it very quickly. I came here with designer wedding dress in tow and nervously hoped for the best... I should have never worried at all! Anna was fantastic and did a stellar job on the alterations. Not only did she make the dress fit like a dream, but she did some customizations as well. The top of the dress had a panel of heavy beading that I was not happy about it. I wanted to remove it and then buy a belt to wear with the dress. Anna was able to remove the beading and then re-purpose it as the belt I had hoped for. It looked amazing!!
