Using the Studio's website (which I found very user-friendly), I ordered flowers on Sunday for delivery yesterday afternoon (our Daughter's Birthday) within a tight, after-work window. I called the Studio yesterday morning and spoke with Beth to make certain that she had received my order and that my price range was appropriate. She told me it was perfect and that she would put together a nice arrangement. She then called me back to tell me that I hadn't filled out a greeting card (great attention to detail). Our Daughter loved the flowers, which were delivered precisely on time. Our first-time experiences with the Studio and Beth were very positive. We will return. read more

We sat down with more than 5 florists and no one compared to Beth. Once we sat down with her, we didn't have to look any further. She was so helpful, professional and the nicest woman ever! She knew exactly what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. She really makes you feel like a bride. She is so responsive via email and or phone, answering any questions you may have. She worked with our budget as well. After your consultation she welcomes you back to view mock centerpieces to show you first hand what to expect the day off, making sure its exactly what you want. The day of the wedding she went above and behind and was at the church helping me with my dress. When we walked into the reception, we were blown away. She made our wedding perfect! Thank you Beth! Every bride should choose Anna Held! read more

Anna Held was wonderful for our wedding. Beth surpassed all expectations and made every detail just beautiful. Every arrangement from the tiniest boutinniere to the most impressive floral display at the entrance was gorgeous. I was thrilled with my bouquet and my bridesmaids' bouquets. The shop itself is adorable and was a fun place to go to discuss details with Beth. On the wedding day, Beth delivered flowers to both the hotel and the church and was as helpful as could be to everyone at both locations. Can't thank you enough! read more

This flower shop is my favorite flower shop in Chicago. The service is fantastic. The flowers are always fresh. The floral design is beautiful! I would highly recommend Anna Held! read more

The Polar Vortex of 2019 sub-zero temps came as a surprise and I'm sure it was hard to deliver flowers. How do you get them there without them freezing? I'm glad I picked Anna Held. Being out of state I'd found the shop online as a first time customer and ordered a small arrangement of roses and tulips. They were delivered on the most frigid day of the deep freeze. My friend was wowed. She couldn't believe how beautiful they were. She said the flowers were so pretty and artfully arranged and I shouldn't have spent so much (but they were actually very reasonable.) I was happy that she was happy... I had sent them as a cheerful get well for what I thought was a minor problem but turned out to be cancer. A couple of days later I heard from another friend that the flowers were indeed gorgeous.... but were drying out. As flower lovers we knew it was too soon and realized it must've been the below 0Ftemperatures. Anna Held had sent me a thank you email asking for feedback so I let them know the good and bad without going into details. Weather like that is not anything they could've guarded against completely even with the best precaution! Water froze in a second out there. Beth the owner responded immediately offering a credit or to send another arrangement. She did send another lovely arrangement right away. It came after the first day of chemo so it wasbgood timing. Thank you Beth for the stunning flowers and the great customer service, from a new loyal customer. read more

Beth did our flowers for our wedding at the Drake Hotel in December. The flowers were amazing and Beth was the most pleasant, honest, kind, down-to-earth person to work with. It was a pleasure from start to finish. She was very flexible with our needs to make it a simple, affordable, yet elegant wedding. I cannot recommend her enough for any event. read more

Beth at Anna Held Floral Studio did our flowers for our wedding at the end of August. I had some unique and specific requests as to how I'd like the decor to look (wild and beautiful) as well as a strict budget. She completely understood and totally delivered. We were able to rent items from her to enhance the ceremony set up and the room flip was carefully supervised by her staff. She paid close attention to detail, listened to feedback at my centerpiece trial and made sure all colors were perfect (yellow and green only). She got to know all about me, my family, my aesthetic and took careful thought tailoring our plan to make everyone comfortable. Beth was easy to communicate with via email or over the phone and I loved going into her studio. The centerpieces lasted for over a week after the wedding, as did my bouquet in water. In truth, now that my wedding is over I miss her and her store but am sure I will find reasons to stop in or send a bouquet from time to time. I will be her lifelong client after the incredible job she did at my wedding. read more

Anna Held did all of the flowers for my husband's and my wedding this past weekend and we could not be happier. The owner, Beth, and all of the other staff are such a pleasure to work with. I needed a lot of help and advice figuring out what I wanted my flowers to look like and Beth helped me until I found something that I was happy with. Beth and her team are extremely experienced and made planning the flowers for my wedding easy and enjoyable. I'm happy that I live down the street from here because I will be returning for all of my floral needs. read more

Beth is Fabulous!!!!!!!!! I cannot say enough about her service and flowers!

Beth at Anna Held Florist is AMAZING! The minute my daughter, her fiance and I met with her for my daughters wedding we were sold. Beth took us under her wing and we knew that we were in good hands. She totally captured our vision and executed it beautifully. I would totally use her again and again! read more

I tried setting up a consult for my wedding flowers here. I haven't even USED their services, but I tried to call them everyday for a week, varying times throughout the day, and no one ever answered the phone. When someone finally did, I never got a call back from Beth. I will never attempt to deal with them again. read more

I'm currently out of state, but have been a Chicago local for most of years. My friend's birthday was coming up, so I ordered a small arrangement for her through Anna Held Flower Shop. I was concerned, because my friend had recently broke her ankle, and had trouble getting to the door of her apartment complex, and wanted to make sure the delivery driver understood how important it was to meet her at her door. Even though I made this order over the phone, the staff very courteous, and reassuring. Well, the arrangement was very beautiful, and even the driver was nice enough to ask how she was recovering. Thank you very much! read more

Like a nice respite from the ill tempers and shoving of city life? Stop by this charming spot for coffee, a phosphate, or a sandwich at the old soda fountain counter here. Inhale the smell of fresh flowers, and of maybe a cake baking in their little kitchen. Talk to to the wonderfully friendly staff and to their regular customers. Choose a few flowers from the 20's era flower cooler, and bring them home to your sweetie. Marvel that a place as distinctive and homey as the Anna Held Flower Shop is still around in our city. read more

Wonderful Florist! Beth, the owner, is a flower genius. She helped us from start to finish in making our July (2014) wedding beautiful. First, we met with Beth and talked about our vision. She listened so well and came up with ideas that were spot on. (We ordered a total of 10 bouquets and 10 boutonnieres.) Beth knows exactly what is in season and how each flower will hold up under the Chicago weather conditions. She had the flowers delivered to our hotel the morning of so that we didn't need to worry about someone else doing a "pick-up". The flowers held up from 11:00 am-midnight!! Also, Beth has an amazing eye for design. She designed a birch alter with floating candles to perfectly frame our ceremony. Moreover, if your wedding is at the Ravenswood Event Center, you really should use her because she knows the space like the back of her hand. Thank you, Beth! read more

If I could give more stars I would. I used Anna Held for my wedding this past May and Beth was absolutely amazing. Not only was she relaxed and patient, but she truly understood my aesthetic and was beyond flexible. The flowers were absolutely amazing and totally transformed the space. Even my husband, whose face glazes over when we talk about flowers, called Beth the "MVP" of the wedding vendors. Her prices were completely reasonable and she had no problem reviewing our budget multiple times to get it down to what we wanted. She was excellent at communication and even stored and transported some of items before and after the wedding. I could not recommend Anna Held more highly! It was, by far, the best decision I made vendor-wise for my wedding! read more

Beth at Anna Held saved the day when we realized just two weeks before our wedding date that we really needed help with our flowers. Our original idea of doing our own arrangements failed (with what simply became a lack of time) and, thankfully, Beth was open to helping us out in the nick of time! Beth really got creative with our modest budget and vision for our afternoon fall brunch wedding. She was spot-on with the selections per our desired colors and overall event aesthetic, per just a couple conversations and email exchanges. It was as if she'd been working with us during the entire wedding-planning process! I cannot recommend her and the shop enough and can't wait for the opportunity to work with them again. read more

Anna Held did the flowers for our wedding and they were amazing! Vibrant and beautiful- we received so many compliments. Working with Beth made the wedding process fun and stress-free. She was very patient with us and worked hard to put together what we had in mind. We highly recommend Anna Held! read more

Anna Held did all the floral arrangements for our wedding. They were wonderful to work with (accommodated five or six meetings as I tried to make up my mind and a second sampling of the floral arrangements after I changed my mind about my first vision - without charging extra). Beth, the owner, is really laidback and down-to-earth. She was very sensitive to our budget and responded to all questions and concerns with helpful suggestions and great ideas. She always gave us a fair price and never pulled the nonsense that we got from other florists (instead of telling us how much things cost, the other florists would always ask us, "how much do you want to spend?" With Beth, we ended up slightly UNDER budget!). It was terrific working with Beth leading up to the wedding, but what was more amazing was the wedding itself. Anna Held delivered, in a big way. Everything was exactly as discussed and looked amazing. The lead floral arrangements, the centerpieces, the bouquets were all absolutely gorgeous - I really think that it came across as if I had spent double or more what I actually spent. The chuppah and aisle were also just as we discussed and really lovely. And, at the end of the event, they wrapped up as many flowers as we could carry to take home with us and we enjoyed them for another two weeks after our wedding! I highly recommend Anna Held for any event. read more

Beth did the flowers for my wedding back in September and I cannot say enough about the experience. I had met with a couple of florists before finding Beth and each time I got a proposal it was almost $1000 over my budget, even after having explicitly discussed the budget with the florist. Beth makes you feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you sit down. You can tell she's been doing this forever and she just loves what she does. I showed her what I wanted and she didn't just copy it down - she suggested a couple of things that would make it look even better! Beth stayed well within (even below!) the budget we discussed. She sent me home that first day with a free bouquet! Follow-up meetings were just as great, and the day of the wedding was smooth. She showed up with an assistant, gave everyone bouquets, made sure all of the boutonnieres were on, and made sure that nothing was missing before she left. She made my wedding cake look stunning, and the flowers got compliments all night. Beth was always quick to answer emails or call you back, and the most refreshing thing was that I knew she wasn't just trying to make an extra dollar off of me, as many in the wedding business are. I'll be using Beth for any flowers I need! read more

Was planning a wedding. Was going to a very small affair. Went it to order boutonnieres. Explained what a wanted, was written down, and I left. Then I added flower wrapped dog collar. Suggestion were made, done! The affair got bigger and the venue recommended a florist they used for centerpieces . That site I visited was vague and looked pricey. Went back to Anna's. The problem was that the Wedding was on a Sunday, Anna's wasn't, so they would have to be delivered on Saturday, well after Anna had closed. Explained my predicament. Was assured they would be delivered to the restaurant. Great! Was assisted with suggestions about sizes of containers, flowers, pricing. Placed the order! The day came, the boutonnieres were beautiful, the dog collar was a hoot, and the centerpieces were delivered when said and displayed by the restaurant staff. They were gorgeous!!! Had many compliments on them!! The staff at Anna's was super helpful, trustworthy and quite talented! Would use them again in an instant! Highly recommend!!! read more
