For what I considered to be a rather difficult job (my husband I initially put it up) was an easy walk for them - and very physical. (Age is a definite factor here!). As such, I didn't get to tending to my garden or yard in the same way I had in previous years. After the first few spring rains the weeds just exploded. I looked at them, totally exhausted, and decided I'd hire someone while I was on vacation the week after to get my bed cleaned up and ready for me to plant in when I returned. I did "request a quote" and within minutes, Deb was calling me to schedule a visit to give me an estimate. She stopped over a few days later, we walked through what I needed to have done (this includes cleaning up a decomposing stump from a dead tree removed by DTW several weeks before) and assured me that it would be taken care of. Two young gentleman showed up the day we were heading out of town so I was able to survey their work. They worked quickly and between the two of them, cleaned up the front and back yard gardens in 3 hours (my entire front yard is a garden so this was a lot of ground to cover) as well as a side garden by our garage. Everything was clean and, aside from a few small weeds that popped up in the days I was gone, heading in and planting a week later was a breeze. I like working in the garden so I didn't hire them for regular maintenance or planting (although it WAS tempting) but they do offer that if you want to keep things tidy and don't have the time or physical ability to do it yourself. But for early or late season clean up, or during busy times, I could definitely see myself calling upon their services again.

I had six quotes for this job and they were the best one--and did a job beyond what I could ask for including clean up, and asking questions along the way to ensure they were doing what we wanted. Besides being the fairest price, the best part is they did an OUTSTANDING job. So glad I went with them

He came out to mow my lawn and right away I noticed how fast he was going in his tractor, which was concerning. Following the completion of the job, I noticed he had cut the lawn unevenly in several areas. He also didn't move a small table and chairs in my lawn and just mowed around it, leaving the tall grass underneath. I called and texted Nelson several times to voice my concerns and ensure these mistakes weren't made twice. He never returned my texts or phone calls and didn't show up to mow my lawn again. I would definitely not recommend this company. Its true, you get what you pay for.

I just purchased a home in Brooklyn and I needed to have a couple trees removed. I called a few tree removal services. Three of them were disconnected phone numbers and three responded relatively quickly. Ryan was the first and he gave me a what I thought was a good price that I agreed to. He said he'd do it for less if I paid cash (first red flag) while I appreciated it, I asked if I paid full price if he could get it done quickly to which Ryan agreed. We agreed on the following Friday which was only a few days later. Friday came and I hadn't heard from Ryan by 1230 (as promised) so I called him and he said he text me twice and left me a voicemail, but hadn't heard from me. I'm not sure what he was allegedly waiting for since we previously agreed he was coming Friday for sure. (second red flag) The problem that came up as his story evolved was that my voicemail has been full for several years. I don't use it, and I had been texting other people all morning so i know the old story that I didn't get the voicemail or text messages he sent simply isn't true. I checked my phone history while I was on speaker phone with him. None of my texts were from him. (red flag number 3) When I asked him if they were still coming he said they "already knocked off for the day" (at 1230 on a Friday) and they could come next week, I have no idea why he would say he tried to reach me three times when he and I were the only people in the conversation. He had to know I knew he wasnt telling the truth. Last important point is that he said he'd email me a copy of the our quote and proof of his insurance and I never received that either. (Fourth red flag). Yes I checked my spam and trash email boxes. It never came. So Ryan was unable to reach me via phone, text (twice) and email?!? The summary is that Ryan was quick to give me a quote, quick to make promises about the work but slow to show up and perform. It was extremely hot that day so if that was the real reason-just say that. He never mentioned that. Instead he chose to make up a story that I KNEW wasn't true. It was insulting besides being inconvenient. I took the day off of work to be available and look where it got me.

Abandoned by Backwoods Tree Company…read more After spending three days working to trim some walnut trees and to partially remove a large elm in our backyard, Ryan failed to fulfill our contract and abandoned the job. He left us with a large pile of wood, several large limbs and a 30-foot "stump." We made the great mistake of paying Ryan before the job was complete. Don't make our mistake.
