Got the service scheduled for three days out, and received an immediate confirmation, as well as a day-before confirmation that included a photo of the technician. Received a text from the technician when he was on his way. Upon his inspection of the dryer, he determined he would need to order a new part, but said he would be able to get back to install it by the end of the day. Turned out even better than that--he was back in a couple of hours, telling me he decided it would be quicker to swing back to my place then instead of after his next stop, as he'd planned. After the new part was in, everything was fine. The repair wasn't cheap--replacing a circuit board won't be in any circumstances--but the repair went smoothly and the dryer is now working fine.

When I called Brother customer service, they told me they no longer provide activation cards but recommended I contact authorized distributors to see if they had software activation codes. I finally got a call back, and the woman told me my machine doesn't need a software code and that "the Cricut has no WiFi." First of all, I don't know who told her I had a Cricut--I have a Brother. I hung up because of her attitude. She said, "I don't work for Cricut," but if you're an authorized dealer, you should at least know the difference between the machines you're dealing with. If she hadn't been so rude, I might have caught her mistake earlier. I know I never mentioned a circuit model number to them. When I originally called, someone said she'd pass my number on to someone who "knows more about Cricuts and stuff." So maybe they're not actually Brother-authorized, even though Brother's website listed them.
