Plenty of parking nearby ( a whole parking lot to the North of the store ). I walked in and immediately greeted by a pleasant employee, Sam. I was surprised at how much this shoppe has! They have paint, for those crafting or school projects with your kiddos, they have UNO card game, and puzzles galore! If you're looking for a game and then don't have it, they can special order it for you. Rooms with large tables to play games with others-sign up online to do that. What a fantastic way to meet someone with similar interests! For a quick gift, they even have Squishmallows-they're so FLUFFY! I know what you're thinking, you don't consider yourself a gamer, no prob., this quaint store is intriguing. Stop in and check it out for yourself. You may just find something you like in there.

The hubby is more of the table top games enthusiast. We were visiting from California during the holidays. There are rooms with tables and chairs to play games as well as a plethora of table top games for sale. An interesting section in the front had a section of items for sale for bird enthusiasts. There was also a section of cute plushies + various cute items like Pusheen notebooks and other character stationery. Rooms had framed posters or other themed decor like Avengers, Star Wars, Harry Potter and more. One room that was locked and fascinating is an escape room. The hubby and I have visited many table top game stores in Southern California. This one in greater Chicagoland is by far superior and unique to anything we have seen before. Would definitely return!

I've been to Dean's dugout occasionally for magic the gathering events, and have found myself frustrated multiple times with round times going over because judge/owner doesn't pay attention. I am prompted to leave this review tonight because of an experience I had taking my new friend to a magic the gathering pre-release. My friend was completely new to the game and I asked his opponents before each round if it was all right to intervene and help him remember triggers, explain what cards do, etc. everything was quite nice up until the second round, his opponents were kind and patient, helping him find a love for the game. The judge approached us after the second round to explain to me that I wasn't allowed to intervene with another game. I kindly explained to him that his opponents were completely fine with my intervention. After going back-and-forth for a few minutes, we were kicked out of the event. I went to go talk to the owner to get a second opinion on the matter. He proceeded to yell at us to get out of the store and make a scene in front of all of the players. I never remembered Friday night Magic being so uptight. I wish I could go back 5 to 10 years when new players were invited, not screamed at. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK AGAIN. Very strange and sad to see a store run like this.

It's easily one of the best spots we've found for both Pokémon and One Piece cards. Aleah and Haley were super friendly and welcoming, and Ari was incredibly helpful when I had questions. The pricing is pretty much in line with most card shops for both sealed products and singles, but what really stood out was the overall experience. They have a ton of variety to choose from, and the atmosphere made it a great visit. On top of that, the staff even gave us some free merch for my girlfriend's birthday, which was such an awesome and thoughtful touch. We'll definitely be coming back soon! EDIT: We stopped by CardPop again before heading up to Chicago, and even though it was a different staff this time, we had the same great experience. The customer service was outstanding once again. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and communicated exceptionally well. We had the pleasure of meeting James and Bryce, and both were incredibly helpful and easy to talk to. It's clear that the team takes pride in providing a great experience for their customers. Keep up the fantastic work! We truly appreciate how well you always take care of us whenever we visit. Looking forward to stopping by again soon.

I've been shopping here since 2003 back when they were down the street from the current location…read more The service has always been hit or miss. For the most part the employee are helpful and cordial however when they miss they miss drastically. I won't go into detail of why I believe certain types of people like myself are treated differently as often here so instead I'll just discuss my most recent visit on 2/4/17 approximately 3:30pm. I brought my Slash truck in for a $1.25c bearing. While I was using tools that were scattered on the counter in a manner as if they had been here since the morning to remove a wheel... one of the employees came over and said "naw, these aren't community tools..these are my personal tools". He gathered his tools, placed them into a case then to took the case and place it behind the counter then walked away. I guess I was naive to think that hobby shops were comprised of a community of enthusiast who shared experiences, fixes, stories of hobby debacles, and even tools. Ok, to finish it off the other employee who helped with the bearing felt it was necessary to walk me to the front to make sure I pay for a $1.25c bearing after I told him I'll let the guy up front know that I have a bearing on the truck that I need to pay for. Maybe that's his job but in light of the previous event this type of treatment doesn't make your business feel appreciated when you've spent thousands here and at times upwards of $1000.00 in one visit several times. When options become more feasible like Amazon, Good ole Boy places like this will be taken out of my diet.
