They have always 100% supported, taught and given good advice. I'll always shop at leisure hours. There's no better place in Chicagoland. For the cry baby's if you can't read a manual and locate a part number don't buy a remote controlled car. Teach the kids some life skills and have them build a parts list and know the components. Prices always can't match online stores either. There's a price to pay for getting it today vs waiting on shipping they have bills to pay and rent for a store front with more overhead.

As others have mentioned in their reviews, customer service at this store is very hit or miss. My…read morefirst two visits were great. The employees were helpful, took the time to look up parts to check availability, showed me where the products are in store, and even offered advice on alternatives. Those experiences were exactly why I prefer shopping at a local hobby store rather than ordering everything online. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a completely different experience. I stopped in to ask for some advice about parts I had purchased from the store just a week earlier. Specifically, I had purchased a motor and ESC for an RC car build and wanted guidance on whether I should use connectors on the motor or solder the wires directly. This was just one of several questions I had. The employee told me I needed to bring the parts in before he could offer any advice. I explained that the exact motor and ESC were sitting in their display cabinet just a few feet away. Rather than taking a moment to look at the products and help answer a fairly straightforward question, he simply gave me a blank stare and repeated that he needed to see the parts. He made absolutely no effort to help. Next, I showed him a battery listed as in stock on their own website. I had the product pulled up on my phone and explained that I was looking for that specific battery. As we walked toward the battery section, he asked, "Do we even have that battery in stock?" I had literally just shown him the listing on his own store's website indicating it was available. I also verbally told him, this item was in stock while showing him my phone. It felt as though he either wasn't listening or wasn't paying attention to what I was showing him. At this point, I was already questioning whether it was worth asking about the remaining parts I needed. Throughout the entire interaction, I remained polite and friendly. I explained that one of the main reasons I choose to shop locally is because I value being able to speak with knowledgeable employees, ask questions, and get advice on my builds. His response was, "You can pay for us to help with your build." To be clear, I wasn't asking anyone to build my RC car, perform labor, or spend an unreasonable amount of time troubleshooting something. I was simply asking for basic product advice about components I had already purchased from their store. There is a significant difference between asking for a paid build service and asking a hobby shop employee for guidance on the products they sell. That response pretty much ended the conversation for me. I still had several items left to purchase, but I decided to leave and order them from an online retailer instead. It's disappointing, because I genuinely want to support local hobby shops. I'm willing to make the drive, pay local retail prices, and give them my business because I appreciate the knowledge and customer service that a specialty store should offer. If the experience is going to be no more helpful than shopping online, however, it becomes difficult to justify making the trip. The frustrating part is that I know this store has employees who provide excellent service, because I've experienced it firsthand. Unfortunately, the inconsistency makes it difficult to know what kind of experience you're going to get when you walk through the door. I'm not expecting employees to know everything. I am expecting them to listen, make a reasonable effort to help, and show some interest in assisting customers who are actively trying to support their business. Unfortunately, my future business is going elsewhere.

It's easily one of the best spots we've found for both Pokémon and One Piece cards. Aleah and Haley were super friendly and welcoming, and Ari was incredibly helpful when I had questions. The pricing is pretty much in line with most card shops for both sealed products and singles, but what really stood out was the overall experience. They have a ton of variety to choose from, and the atmosphere made it a great visit. On top of that, the staff even gave us some free merch for my girlfriend's birthday, which was such an awesome and thoughtful touch. We'll definitely be coming back soon! EDIT: We stopped by CardPop again before heading up to Chicago, and even though it was a different staff this time, we had the same great experience. The customer service was outstanding once again. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and communicated exceptionally well. We had the pleasure of meeting James and Bryce, and both were incredibly helpful and easy to talk to. It's clear that the team takes pride in providing a great experience for their customers. Keep up the fantastic work! We truly appreciate how well you always take care of us whenever we visit. Looking forward to stopping by again soon.

Sure, it'd have to be a small plane, but this place is so big that you're bound to find *something* in here that interests you, even if you're not there to buy anything specific. I usually am, though. Being something of an artist myself, I am always looking for the most inexpensive places to buy my materials since the term "starving artist" really tends to ring true, especially these days. Over the years, I've come to find that Hobby Lobby almost always has the best prices around (and if you watch their weekly ads, 50% off regular prices are an added bonus). In a store as large as this one, I'm almost guaranteed to be able to find what I'm looking for, too. I can't speak for all crafters or artists, but for my drawing/painting needs, Hobby Lobby is always the first place I go...and thankfully, since they normally have what I need in stock, it's the last place, too.

I was looking to hand make gifts for a birthday idea with my wife and this place had a great deal of most stuff some of the items like hats and caps are cheaply made so be careful washing it. Tons of great ideas if you're into putting pictures throughout your entire house and there is an endless amount of decor no matter what time of the season because it could be Halloween and Christmas inside at all times. Staff here was pretty friendly, the store is located in a busy strip mall with many things going on so be wary of traffic. Overall the store was pretty modern and has a lot of eye-catching things. Overall I thought was a decent story to check out and visit.

The hubby is more of the table top games enthusiast. We were visiting from California during the holidays. There are rooms with tables and chairs to play games as well as a plethora of table top games for sale. An interesting section in the front had a section of items for sale for bird enthusiasts. There was also a section of cute plushies + various cute items like Pusheen notebooks and other character stationery. Rooms had framed posters or other themed decor like Avengers, Star Wars, Harry Potter and more. One room that was locked and fascinating is an escape room. The hubby and I have visited many table top game stores in Southern California. This one in greater Chicagoland is by far superior and unique to anything we have seen before. Would definitely return!

For the most part the employee are helpful and cordial however when they miss they miss drastically. I won't go into detail of why I believe certain types of people like myself are treated differently as often here so instead I'll just discuss my most recent visit on 2/4/17 approximately 3:30pm. I brought my Slash truck in for a $1.25c bearing. While I was using tools that were scattered on the counter in a manner as if they had been here since the morning to remove a wheel... one of the employees came over and said "naw, these aren't community tools..these are my personal tools". He gathered his tools, placed them into a case then to took the case and place it behind the counter then walked away. I guess I was naive to think that hobby shops were comprised of a community of enthusiast who shared experiences, fixes, stories of hobby debacles, and even tools. Ok, to finish it off the other employee who helped with the bearing felt it was necessary to walk me to the front to make sure I pay for a $1.25c bearing after I told him I'll let the guy up front know that I have a bearing on the truck that I need to pay for. Maybe that's his job but in light of the previous event this type of treatment doesn't make your business feel appreciated when you've spent thousands here and at times upwards of $1000.00 in one visit several times. When options become more feasible like Amazon, Good ole Boy places like this will be taken out of my diet.
