What a great release day! Benjamin got a prismatic evolution box and had a blast opening it there.

Highly recommend Deans dugout. One of the few real card shops left. Both he and is wife take time to chat with the kids and make the card experience like it was back in the 80s. They have great selection of Pokemon and all sports card with good value.

M13 pre-release pool.

Very nice couple running the shop but it's geared mainly towards sports cards and i was hoping for more board games and star wars games.

Great hobby shop one of the last good ones left. Always helpful always has stock. Sad to see all…read morethe people who lack basic life skills complain. They have always 100% supported, taught and given good advice. I'll always shop at leisure hours. There's no better place in Chicagoland. For the cry baby's if you can't read a manual and locate a part number don't buy a remote controlled car. Teach the kids some life skills and have them build a parts list and know the components. Prices always can't match online stores either. There's a price to pay for getting it today vs waiting on shipping they have bills to pay and rent for a store front with more overhead.

As others have mentioned in their reviews, customer service at this store is very hit or miss. My…read morefirst two visits were great. The employees were helpful, took the time to look up parts to check availability, showed me where the products are in store, and even offered advice on alternatives. Those experiences were exactly why I prefer shopping at a local hobby store rather than ordering everything online. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a completely different experience. I stopped in to ask for some advice about parts I had purchased from the store just a week earlier. Specifically, I had purchased a motor and ESC for an RC car build and wanted guidance on whether I should use connectors on the motor or solder the wires directly. This was just one of several questions I had. The employee told me I needed to bring the parts in before he could offer any advice. I explained that the exact motor and ESC were sitting in their display cabinet just a few feet away. Rather than taking a moment to look at the products and help answer a fairly straightforward question, he simply gave me a blank stare and repeated that he needed to see the parts. He made absolutely no effort to help. Next, I showed him a battery listed as in stock on their own website. I had the product pulled up on my phone and explained that I was looking for that specific battery. As we walked toward the battery section, he asked, "Do we even have that battery in stock?" I had literally just shown him the listing on his own store's website indicating it was available. I also verbally told him, this item was in stock while showing him my phone. It felt as though he either wasn't listening or wasn't paying attention to what I was showing him. At this point, I was already questioning whether it was worth asking about the remaining parts I needed. Throughout the entire interaction, I remained polite and friendly. I explained that one of the main reasons I choose to shop locally is because I value being able to speak with knowledgeable employees, ask questions, and get advice on my builds. His response was, "You can pay for us to help with your build." To be clear, I wasn't asking anyone to build my RC car, perform labor, or spend an unreasonable amount of time troubleshooting something. I was simply asking for basic product advice about components I had already purchased from their store. There is a significant difference between asking for a paid build service and asking a hobby shop employee for guidance on the products they sell. That response pretty much ended the conversation for me. I still had several items left to purchase, but I decided to leave and order them from an online retailer instead. It's disappointing, because I genuinely want to support local hobby shops. I'm willing to make the drive, pay local retail prices, and give them my business because I appreciate the knowledge and customer service that a specialty store should offer. If the experience is going to be no more helpful than shopping online, however, it becomes difficult to justify making the trip. The frustrating part is that I know this store has employees who provide excellent service, because I've experienced it firsthand. Unfortunately, the inconsistency makes it difficult to know what kind of experience you're going to get when you walk through the door. I'm not expecting employees to know everything. I am expecting them to listen, make a reasonable effort to help, and show some interest in assisting customers who are actively trying to support their business. Unfortunately, my future business is going elsewhere.

Mike was super easy to work with and pricing was very reasonable to host a 2 hour party for kids. The main track can be dialed back so that the kids won't send the cars off the track. Mike (one man team) did a great job of rotating the kids in for races and even had a separate area for those not racing to send hot wheels care down an inclined race track to pass time while they awaited their turn. Overall the event was a success. We were able to bring in pizza from next door for food. I have pretty fond memories of my dad taking my brother and I slot car racing when we were kids so it was a really cool to be able to share the same experience with my son and his friends. I saw a straight line down the far side (there's almost always a straight line for the 100% GO FAST!! crowd) funny thing about these places, they're way funner if you listen more than talk; more often than not the guy running it is a professional...

POSTER CHILD   This…read morereliable arts & crafts store in Bolingbrook always has some kind of sale going on.   I've stopped into this Hobby Lobby on Weber Rd a couple times to buy frames and canvas art, after noticing the walls in our house had been looking rather bare.  The store itself is pretty sleepy as there's rarely more than 4-5 people shopping at any given time, with only 1-2 staff and a single register open.   The colorful textiles and D.I.Y. fabrics are towards the back of the store, while picture accessories and seasonal things are on the right.  Frames were 50% off when I visited - a 20" x 16" was priced at $6, down from $12 - so I paid considerably less than if I'd gone on Amazon.  The cheap frames fit my needs perfectly.   I also bought two tropical landscapes for the master bathroom.  Their canvas art comes in all kinds of formats, be it a large square or skinny vertical (6" x 36").  Hobby Lobby has an area devoted to Star Wars, Marvel and some DC stuff, plus a nautical/oceany section with anchors, ship wheels, and a very cool holographic shark.  CHOMP!   * TL;DR *   You can usually expect to see some type of discount on Hobby Lobby's merchandise, and that makes them an appealing option as more stores try to compete with online retailers.   My experiences thus far have been quiet but successful.  I'm glad to have a place nearby that carries such a wide assortment of project materials and home décor.
