Very cute and magical store. It looks like how you would imagine a magic store in a movie to look…read more They have a really wide variety of things to buy here: costumes, dog costumes, magic tricks, toys, miniature kits, board games, Halloween decor, puzzles, D&D stuff. There is also an escape room in the basement that doubles as a gaming room. If there are any kids (or adults who are kids at heart) in your life, take them here. They will love it!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at The Wizard's Chest during the Store Championship…read moreon Saturday, May 23rd, 2026. The day before the event, I specifically called the store to verify the tournament start time. The employee I spoke with told me registration was at 10:30 AM and the event would not launch until 11:00 AM. Because I was surprised by that timing, I repeated it back clearly to confirm -- essentially using closed-loop communication -- and the employee confirmed again that arriving after 10:30 would still be fine because the tournament would begin at 11. We were even added to the sign-in roster over the phone. My partner and I arrived at 10:50 AM, excited for what was supposed to be his first Standard tournament. I had spent the previous day rebuilding and upgrading his Angel deck specifically for this event, and we were genuinely looking forward to it. Instead, the manager of the Game Center immediately informed us the tournament had already started and there was "nothing he could do." There was no empathy, no initial apology, no attempt at customer service, and no effort to make the situation right despite the misinformation coming directly from the store staff. The pod only had six players, meaning there were still two promos unaccounted for, and the first round had only just started. I completely understand that tournament rules and pairings can make late additions difficult or impossible. That is not the core issue. The issue was how the situation was handled. Good customer service is not just delivering bad news -- it's delivering it with empathy and professionalism. A simple acknowledgment, apology, or even a small gesture of goodwill would have gone a long way. Instead, the interaction felt cold, awkward, and dismissive. Only after I pressed further did the manager finally apologize and say he would try to figure out who gave us the incorrect information. For a local game store, community and customer experience matter just as much as organized play. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling unwelcome and discouraged after being genuinely excited to participate.
