Anime King is a small hobby shop, a lot of people or Yelpers here do not understand that. The problem with society these days is that they wanted to feel like they are entitled to their opinion, and then just because certain things do not go their way; they get hell-bent out of shape because of it. People coming in with the expectation that they would get large retail store experience are greatly misinformed. The staff is not trained in professional interaction with customers; customers should know how to interact with people and be less of a "Karen. " The storefront is where the items that are for sale are located; they might have some additional items in stock, but since it is a lot of work to find them - customers should check their eBay page listing. If you already know what to get, even better - proceed to the counter and ask if they have it - VERY SIMPLE PROCESS! No need to be mad over the interaction, no need to be a hater. If you want to spend your $$$ somewhere else, pretty sure there are TONS of online retailers that can cater to your needs. With that being said, Anime King is a store that tries to cater to Anime culture in general, since it's very broad - sometimes they do not have the latest and greatest, but pricing seems reasonable and they can answer your questions. Staff is willing to answer questions and can share a lot of information, if you are willing to invest in the relationship, ask and be nice. They have Gundam kits, Kotobukiya, Chogokin, for the most part, items that are carried by Bluefin distribution. They have some Sentai and Kamen Rider items - this is a plus. They have some plushes, Figma, Figuarts, and some "cute anime" stuff - but not everything.

Hidden and unassuming spot, but has great selection of figures and gunpla! Saw Kirby and Boo (Mario) plushies there too. Prices are pretty good. I asked if they carried Beargguys or Petit'gguys, and the cashier brought out what they had in the back. I'm really happy with my finds at this store.

Horrible customer service. Will not be returning. Didn't want to, but had to give one star.

Since there is a warehouse in the back of this shop, they can easily get certain things that isn't in the front.

Really awesome place for cards…read more Owners? Workers? Not even sure. But those guys in the store are SUPER nice and knowledgeable. Prices are honest and fair. And they have an instagram account that shows what drops are coming or what they have in stock. You can also sell your own cards to them - they told me to bring my collection in if I wanted some options/opinions. They have single pokemon cards for as low as 10 cents - it really doesn't get better than that.

Keith looked at me like, dude!? You sure you want this to be your first purchase, haha. He also said it should be going up in value and DAMN, he was right! I think it's around $1,500 right now...my point to that was today, 11/11/25, Keith remembered he sold me that card and mentioned it while I was walking out. The guys that work here care about this community and care about the work they do. They're awesome and my son and daughter love coming in here to check out the new items they have. HELPFUL HINT...their storefront is in the BACK. If you go to the "normal front" you'll have to walk around to the backside. There's lots of parking back there and the big roller door is open, you can't miss it. Support local businesses like this...they're few and far between.

Recently, I came across them on a hunt for cute bag charms (thanks, Yelp Assistant) and I was blown away by the selection! In addition to tons of plushies, they have a whole wall of bag charms. I didn't find what I was looking for (something Disney and/or cherry-themed) but I found a cute charm for a friends birthday gift and the claw clips on the shelf below caught my eye because many of them were metal and large. Perfect for thick hair! The cashier confirmed this as well which made me feel confident and I can confirm they hold up with long, thick, hair. It seems like this place does a lot of limited drops so definitely get there early if you're looking for a trendy item. But, it wasn't too crowded when I went around 11am.

The only options were the Lunar New Year one. There was also a random softball plush. That was it, nothing else. No variety, no classics, no fan favorites. The selection was honestly disappointing. I drove out of my way for this. The display felt poorly stocked. It seemed careless and unprepared. Three stars only because the plushies were decent. I expected far more than this. .

Top Canvas also has other locations (Alhambra, Downey, Torrance, and Milpitas in Northern California) that operate as collectible stores and this is the only Top Canvas location that runs as a claw machine arcade. [Parking]: Easy and free parking at The District at Tustin Legacy. [Selection & Price]: Apparently the shop redesigned their claw machines and prize system in recent months. Players can now trade plushies for points and use those points to redeem more desirable prizes. As for trade-in prizes, they have selected signed Funko Pop figures / giant Pokémon plushies / other generic plushies (25%), blind boxes (50%), and graded Pokémon cards / booster packs / other collectibles (25%). Personally it would be better if they had fewer blind boxes as trade-in prizes and focused more on curated Sanrio plushies or unique action figures. [Point system]: For play packs, $10 = 20 tokens, $20 = 42 tokens, $50 = 110 tokens, and $100 = 230 tokens. Claw machines with numbered stickers indicate how many points each plush is worth and most machines indicate 15 points per plush. Blind box trade-in values range from 45 points to 125 points. [Conclusion]: It is nice to have claw machines with a higher win rate than places like Round1 + the ability to trade plushies for better prizes, but I do think their prizes are not as good as places like Round1. Personally I still prefer other claw machine spots like Infinity Claws in Rowland Heights and I also like Top Canvas's collectible stores better than this claw machine-only concept store. P.S. - Players can ask the staff to rearrange plushies in some machines.

5/5 - An Absolute Beauty for Collectors and Fans Alike!…read more Cape and Cowl Collectables is one of those rare places you can walk into and instantly feel at home. Whenever I have a bit of time, I absolutely love just stopping by to hang out -- this place is incredible! From Star Wars, Marvel, and DC, to Godzilla, Transformers, and everything in between, it's a treasure chest of pure nostalgia and excitement. The owner, Sterling, is hands-down one of the most knowledgeable and genuine people you'll ever meet in the collecting world. If you can't find what you're looking for, always ask -- chances are he either has it tucked away somewhere or can source it for a future visit. His knowledge is phenomenal, right down to knowing which accessory goes with which figure and from what toy line it came. The trade-in values are awesome and extremely fair -- and if you go with store credit, you'll always get an even better deal. Plus, Sterling is constantly getting new stock in, from vintage classics to modern releases, so it's always worth popping in regularly just to see what's new! But what really makes this place special is Sterling himself -- supportive, helpful, and above all, friendly. Whether we're chatting about toys, TV shows, or sports, it's always a good time. If you love toys, collecting, or just being around good people who share your passion -- you won't be disappointed. Cape and Cowl Collectables isn't just a store... it's a community and a home for collectors.
