I could tell the woman's personality from her email... she was sweet, kind and bubbly! We booked on a Tuesday for a friday event. They were coming all the way from Gilroy to San Jose which was incredibly nice of them. I believe that it was the owners son's that came with all the animals. And when I say I was shocked and impressed with the amount of animals they brought I cant emphasize this enough. They brought goats, the cutest little pig you've ever seen that had the most adorable tail wag, a mini pony, chickens and rabbits. The boys drove their truck right to the set up place and immediately set up. Thier cool and calm demeanor ( while trying to set up with a bunch of elementary kids surrounding them) is something you dont usually see in young men let alone adults. These boys or young men are PROFESSIONALS! Donnie answered the kids questions as he carefully set up and made the animals feel secure. The animals are VERY WELL taken care of you can tell this farm LOVES their animals. The petting zoo was a huge hit such a huge hit that they ended up staying after the end time because they still had a line. The little pony was so well behaved around the kids I was shocked when Donnie said that 10 days ago the pony had never been touched by a human!!! Donnie must be an animal miracle worker! Had fun diving deep into all things chicken, learning about the day-to-day of rearing and maintaining a 500-count flock. Stephanie is a fabulous host, friendly and responsive and knowledgeable, comfortable engaging with guests and sharing about her farm business. I particularly enjoyed the chance to feed the pastured chickens and gather eggs from their coops. (My first time for both.) While visiting with the birds in their run, you see them scratching for bugs, dust bathing and foraging. Stephanie also demonstrated how the farm harvests, cleans and packs eggs for sale. It was a treat to bring home a carton of the fresh eggs that we hand collected - some from right under the hen. I loved the beautiful shell colors, green and blue in addition to the familiar white and brown. (Breed determines egg color.) There are many animal residents at The Nest Box. During the visit, I also saw a duck (waddling among the chickens), cat, cow and pigs. I left the farm thinking that the animals at The Nest Box are fortunate to be so well cared for. This tour is appropriate for both children and adults, and will be of particular interest to those curious about animals and where food comes from. The activity is not physically taxing, other than being on your feet and in the sun. Pro tips: Wear sun protection and closed-toe shoes that you do not mind getting dusty.

We thought this would take a week but it took 3 days - those goats take their work seriously. The good: -Billie and the goats and dogs (and emu) are all delightful. Billie was extremely accommodating and hard working. The goats and dogs are absolute sweethearts and all come running when they see you for pets. -Poison oak is now extinct on my property. -The ground is fertilized and there is nothing to clean up other than sticks. The bad: -Noise. The "baaa"-ing was one thing, but the guard dogs were pretty brutal through the night. We had some coyotes hanging around so there was lots of barking. So that's it, thanks for following. I'm really happy to finally be able to present this and I'm actively brainstorming on how we can get a goat co-op going in our neighborhood.

When we first spoke, she said there was a possibility she could waive the traveling fee of $75 because she'd be in the area, which was nice even though I was fine with paying it either way. Around the third time of speaking with her she said the charge would be a nonnegotiable $200 and that she won't be in the area at all. I don't know if she's forgetful or just disorganized. She told me she'd write down my information as a side note and sounded like I was crazy for saying "we've spoken before on several occasions." I wish good luck to anyone who wants to hire this organization for their party, seems like if you're not planning on paying thousands of dollars on her your business isn't wanted. Blueberry: She's very helpful, very fun, and lovely with the kids! There was no down time with her. Things at a kid's birthday party can be unpredictable and she was very flexible. All of the kids at the party had fun with her and the parents have all positive response. I love how she acknowledged that Shadow (previous host) said hi to my first born and she also gave my 1st born a gift (blueberry plush, so thoughtful!) Shadow: She was very lovely with the kids! Very patient too! We had some guests that are bigger kids and they were being cheeky and she has her ways to manage them very nicely. I hired Teresa's services for the first time for our annual Easter party after reading raving Yelp…read morereviews. We ordered the small petting zoo package to go along with other activities we had planned. Initial communication was a bit slow (took about a week to hear back from her and after I emailed a 2nd time) but other than that, impeccable in every sense! I had had a hard time finding someone to do our event because most companies only were open on the weekend but our party was on a Friday afternoon. Her rates were very fair. She communicated very well and easily with me to answer my questions. She called a couple days before to confirm the appointment, directions, and let me know rain was forecasted to go over a back up plan. On the day of our event, she arrived 20 minutes early to get her bearings and set up. Rain was still forecasted so she set up under our covered patio by placing down a tarp (that she brought) and adding grass (all materials were hers minus the covered patio) and very efficiently cleaned up all animal droppings. I thought we were contracted for 8 small animals for the small petting zoo but she brought 15 various animals including 5 chickens of all colorful breeds, 2 large bunnies, 3 baby bunnies (that she was fostering), 1 small goat, and 4 guinea pigs. Like I mentioned, ALL the animals held a great variety of colors. You could tell the animals were well cared for. She said she brought so many animals because she said she packed the party herself and knew it would be an easy day for them, and she knew which animals liked to go together. (We were so grateful for the added perks, but I definitely would not expect this kind of treatment!) :) She allowed my daughter (age 4) to have the first encounter with the pets. My daughter who is usually slow to warm up opened right with the animals and Teresa. They were the BIGGEST hit of the party and all the party guests couldn't believe we had these animals present and the kids, ranging from ages 2 to 7 had a blast!
