Great customer service. They had a quick turn around for my pickup load and had a new break room just for the drivers with restrooms.

Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom - Cheeseburger with bacon and a side of fries

Had an incredible experience at Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom in downtown Fairfield. From the moment…read moreI walked in, I was welcomed with genuine hospitality by Paul behind the bar. Super personable, great energy, and made the whole experience feel effortless. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly burger--smash-style patty with bacon, peanut butter, jelly, Tabasco, and pickles--and wow... one of the most unique and satisfying burgers I've had in a long time. It hits that perfect balance of savory, sweet, and nostalgic. I asked Paul what he would pair with it, and he absolutely nailed it. He introduced me to "Chimp My Ride" from Solano Brewing Company, a rich stout with chocolate and peanut butter notes that complemented the burger perfectly. It honestly brought back that childhood lunchbox feeling in the best way possible. On top of that, Chef Jamie personally brought out the food and took the time to connect--great conversation, great presence, and you can tell there's real pride behind what they're doing here. The vibe, the style, the food, and the people all come together here. Easy five stars. I'll definitely be back.

I'm not coming to a bar to read someone's opinions on the wall--keep that to yourself. If you just want a casual drink, it'll do. But the whole vibe feels a little sloppy and unnecessary. Clean it up and focus on the food and beer instead.

My wife's been saying "we have to try that place" for a decade, and folks... she was RIGHT. This…read morespot is out of this world. The food: Farm-to-table doesn't even cover it. Everything is stupid fresh, bursting with flavor, and those gorgeous "dirt accents" -- aka veggies that actually taste like they were pulled from the earth this morning -- had us speechless. Every bite felt like a love letter from the farm. The vibe: Dog friendly!!! Our pups got the VIP treatment, which means we're basically moving in. We're already planning next week's visit. And every week after that. The secret weapon: Devon. That man is a gentleman and a legend. He doesn't just greet you -- he welcomes you straight into his heart the second you walk in. Service like this is rare, and it made the night. I'm literally obsessed and can't shut up about this place. If you haven't been yet, cancel your plans and GO. We'll be the regulars at the corner table with our dogs under it. Just add to all these ages of acres of olive trees and vegetables

Because they have a small farm, there is a bit of a smelly aroma outside. We had the French onion soup, which was enclosed by a puff pastry and had gruyere cheese inside, torch shaped pasta with squash and pancetta and breadcrumbs, and a Brussels sprouts Caesar salad with crispy prosciutto. Every dish tasted magnificent. I like them all equally. Tastefully seasoned and cooked well to make the flavors stand out along with beautiful presentation. My critiques would be that the melted cheese from the French onion soup would solidify get stuck on the spoon and some of the larger Brussels sprouts on the salad were a bit tough. Pasta was a tad bit salty but still great. We had two scoops of gelato for dessert- olive oil with a hint of lemon zest and flakey salt and chocolate. Both were creamy delicious and not too rich. Our server was nice and explained some of the food items to us. After lunch, my friend and I walked around the garden and enjoyed the views surrounded by the vineyards.

This bar is one of the best-kept secrets of the Fairfield/Suisun/Vacaville area; for better or for…read moreworse it is my duty as a frequent patron to let others know about it. The Marriott Bar/Lounge is located inside of the Marriott Hotel. I discovered it one evening while my husband was stuck at a function in said hotel. Rather than be social and mingle with the hotel crowd in one of the many reception rooms with a nametag slapped to my chest, I decided it would be better to go find the hotel bar. Boy, I'm glad that I did. Mark (the bartender at the Marriott) is a wonderful find. His rockabilly hairstyle and snappy black vest assured me right off the bat that it would be an evening of good conversation and good drinks, and I was not disappointed. Here's the great deal that will knock your socks off: on Tuesday nights there is a free appetizer bar (cheese/vegetables and the like) and free draft beer/select wine. Ideally one should purchase a cocktail for the sake of saying "thank-you" for the wonderful amenities; more importantly, one should order a cocktail for the simple pleasure of experiencing a Mark-crafted Manhattan. The bar itself has two flatscreen TVs; by default Mark usually will keep them trained on the sports world unless you make a request. As it stands the lounge area could stand to be opened up a bit more. The conference/dining area next to the bar is frequently empty, which makes the placement of the bar area feel rather arbitrary. The decor is, well, hotel-y. All the basics are behind the bar but do not go if you plan on ordering an esoteric bourbon. They do have Sierra Nevada on tap, which is nice, but other than that your beer choices are fairly limited if you're an avid microbrew fan. My suggestion: get a group of friends together, grab a table early on (especially on Tuesdays) or sit at the bar and let Mark work his magic. You will not be disappointed.
