What a delightful spot to find by accident! I was exploring the area today and happened into Caledonia, made a wrong turn and saw the sign for the Angry Rooster. I figured, heck, ya gotta try a place with a name like that! Two guys were sitting at a table outside, eating their lunch. I should have known from the size of the sandwich one guy was wolfing down that I was going to encounter more food than I could possibly consume. I was welcomed like I was a regular customer, the counter help is polite, helpful and actually quite entertaining. Once they found out I'm a photographer (the t-shirt with the camera on it was kind of a giveaway) they really opened up and we wound up talking about what I shoot. They even gave me a target to shoot that I didn't have time to go see today - but you can be sure I'll check it out on a return trip, which will be very soon. Anyway, the menu is simple - pick a meat or filling (egg salad) type of cheese (provolone is my go-to for most sandwiches) type of bread and extras. I asked for lettuce and tomato. If you don't want to configure your own sandwich, they have some standards and salads, too. And I was right - the sandwich was huge and I had trouble finishing even half of it. Most of it is in the refrigerator now! And in case I forgot to mention it, the egg salad was really, really good! If you live in the area, you're far luckier than I am. Once I leave Western New York and head for home, I'll be 700 miles away - slightly out of the Uber Eats delivery range. What? You live in the area and never went to the Angry Rooster? GO there. I have gotten take out from the Angry Rooster on quite a few occasions and have always enjoyed my food. They have a small variety of sandwiches, and the ability to create your own combination. The deli meat and rolls have always been fresh, and the sandwiches have a good amount of "stuff" on them, whatever those choices have been. I have never tried any of their other options but they have salads, soups, some vegetarian options and some house plates that always sound good, but since I generally order delivery with work I have always opted for the sandwiches. Because I have ordered in, I have never visited personally, but I have quite a few coworkers who say it is a cute little spot and worth the stop. It is not super close to me which is why I like the delivery options. But I plan to visit when in the area! read more

Deli is rarely open and does not sell chicken cutlets and its called the angry rooster. Average small town deli not much else. Hours are monday-saturday 11am-3pm, no breakfast! read more

This place is a hidden gem! I was looking for a quick lunch stop while going through town and this spot delivered. The customer service was amazing. They answered my menu questions, let me know about the specials and have me tips (like that I could add meat to the hippie picnic). Great food and service! Friendly and excellent service, good atmosphere, great food. This was my first visit here but my friend Steph is quite the regular here, she ordered the special lemon rice and a fresh baked cookie I had a hard time narrowing it down but went for the Jimmy 2 Times meatball and sausage sub on a house made sub roll. Steph started on the cookie while our order was getting made, hers came first and she decided to take it back to work and ordered ice cream while we waited for my sandwich, my sandwich was delicious and I figured the ice cream (with sprinkles) was good because it was just gone..... This deli is super cute! My mom and I decided to stop for lunch and I was so glad we did. I got a yummy BLT and a side of coleslaw. The BLT was served up on delicious and perfectly toasted bread. The lady behind the counter was friendly and very helpful. She recommended the coleslaw, explaining that it was more acidic than most and we decided to try it. It was delicious and addictive! It paired perfectly with the BLT. When I'm in the area I will definitely stop by again. read more

I love the Angry Rooster!! The food is delicious and made to order. they serve great food at reasonable prices with big portions. Helen the owner is very pleasant and is on the premises and is very community oriented. I love her taco buffets and her Dailey specials. Save room for the amazing cannolis!! My wife and I had been meaning to stop in The Angry Rooster all summer and finally found time to do so this past Monday. The place was spacious and clean decorated with a variety of roosters, but otherwise plain. The menu was interesting, but not extensive. We split two sandwiches: the Marguletta ( ham, salami, cheese with olive salad on fresh Italian bread) and the Chip ( grilled pastrami Swiss and sauerkraut). Both were excellent and carefully prepared. The deli is self-service, but the combination clerk and cook was delightful. Planning to check the meatloaf and spaghetti for dinner soon!!! read more

Yesterday, I asked another business owner what lunch options I would have. She offered up many choices, but then pulled out a copy of The Angry Rooster's menu. To me, it looked perfect, especially the BLTA sandwich and the iceberg lettuce salad. Went right there and ordered the BLTA. The sourdough, slightly-toasted bread was delicious. Overall, a great sandwich. I did inquire about the recommended cannolis but did pass despite the fact that they're made to order! Owner, Helen, and other worker were both extremely nice. Helen changed the country music to something more of my taste. She also was a great conversationalist and did something super nice for me. I won't say, because she couldn't do it for all her customers. Go there! read more
