Honestly I should have come here a bit often since the food is really good here, but I have been going to other places for a while. I've been here at least a few visits and noticed that service got slower. I understand that it's a lot of people here, but there weren't many inside the restaurant. Perhaps, there are some online orders, but I don't often see customers walk in and out. Anyways, this is actually my first time trying sides from one of the Nashville-style chicken restaurants, which is the mac and cheese. It's actually really good by itself. I also got chicken tenders combo.
Always happy to see more chicken places up near me! [[ Pro's ]] 1.) Really big space. They have seating in the exterior as well as the interior and I felt like it was really clean and spacious. It was also well decorated. 2.) Signage in all areas was very clear and I knew where to go to get my online order. 3.) The online order was prepared on time and packaged nicely with a bunch of Angry Chickz logo everywhere which was pretty cool [[ Con's ]] I ordered the: 1.) Extra Slider 2.) Mac & Cheese The Extra Slider was super soggy due to the coleslaw so it kind of made everything very "wet" when I ate it. Maybe you have to eat it in person for it to be good? Maybe for to-go orders, the coleslaw should be separated and added in yourself later to preserve the crispy-ness. The Mac & Cheese was just alright. It taste good but nothing special. I think I need to go-in person and eat it fresh to see if I change my mind.

Choose spice level & style of chicken. Lots of parking in lot. Limited seating inside. More outside. No lines pre-noon. Ordered. Paid. Got food within 5 minutes. Bites: Classic #3 chicken tender on toast with chicken sandwich (16) choose mild sauce. -soft bun on chicken sammie ok as was crunchy toast. Pickles had nice tartness. Didn't notice slaw. -large pieces crinkle fries wasn't uber crispy, innards mushy. Probably alread cooked. Not cooked fresh to order. Both chicken pieces had crunchy texture, dryish interior meat, not juicy nor moist. Mild sauce ok. Passed on medium as it had habanero peppers. -took just a few bites of chicken & fries. Had rest to go. Didn't have an appetite. Maybe an off day or the weather affected my appetite. 3 stars semi-worthy:YMMV quantity: slightly small. Quality: seem a bit off. Service: excellent.
Honest review: pretty good! Compared to all the hot chicken places popping up these days, Angry Chickz is on par with Dave's in my opinion, but might I say: it could be even better than Dave's. Stopped in for a quick bite before heading up to the city to catch a Warriors game, and there were a handful of people dining in. This location took over the old Pieology, and there was plenty of seating. I really liked the Fremont-centered decor on the walls; that's one way to connect with the local community! Given it was an early dinner, the two of us shared a #1 which consisted of 2 sliders and fries, and we tacked on an additional side of Mac and cheese to try it out. Chicken was meaty, not too dry, and well-seasoned without overdoing it. The Mac was also pretty good, and the fries were also seasoned, but nothing too special. The food took longer than I expected to be prepared, but we were kind of pressed for time so on a regular day it wouldn't have been too big a deal.
Arrived at opening , this is angry Chickz Fremont location. It used to be a pizza joint. I was surprised how dead this place looked on the inside and outside . I came in wondering and was pretty much sure they had shakes like their competitor DAVES HOT CHICKEN. When I asked they said no they don't have any shakes on their menu . I was kinda shocked. They copy everything DHC has but lack shakes. Barely anyone here on a Friday but it was still early. A couple of pick up orders. Service was attentive and cheerful. The spice level is a bit tricky and they warn you after you choose though. Price is fair but I don't like how they charge for an extra dipping sauce. Parking is odd and can be hard at busy times.
Not bad! We'll be coming back to try more things. Plenty of parking. Love the Fremont artwork inside. The workers are nice and helped explain the different spice levels. He warned us that hot does use ghost peppers. I couldn't try hot, but my husband tried their meal that includes 2 sandwiches. He chose medium and hot. Verdict is, medium is good for him. The sandwiches have a slow burn to it. For him, hot was just enough where it's not as enjoyable because of the heat. The bowls and Mac n cheese are super heavy. Tastes great, but heavy. So if you don't eat as much, it's better to share.
My experience with Angry Chickz was alright. We all crave for something different in Fremont and I think that's what Angry Chickz brought to the neighborhood. Unfortunately, unless you're really into fried chicken, this place might fall flat for some of you. The menu is limited - a few options for combos and you get to choose your spice level. I thought the food was okay and for being new on the block, it seems to be pretty popular.
Food: - Items: Angry Fries, #1, and #4 - Angry Fries were pretty good, very filling, the chicken was cooked well, it was medium spice and pretty good, not spicy at all (8/10) - #1 was medium spice as well, probably tasted better if we didn't take it to go (6/10) - #4 was hot, and this was spicy, definitely needed to drink water in the middle - the rice was warm and buttery (7/10) - Most of the food is the same thing repackaged different ways, the Angry Fries were my favorite because the slaw was a nice freshness that offset the heaviness of the fries and chicken - 7/10 Service: - We went opening weekend so there was a line out the door and it was pretty busy - Servers seemed stressed - We did get to sample their fries which had some kind of seasoning which was nice - 8/10 Ambiance: - Good amount of seating, has outdoor seating as well - Has a special booth that's lit up - Pretty nice interior - Good lighting - 9/10 Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Wasn't great wasn't awful (2.5) Ordered the #3 to go (slider and a tender). Asked for different spice levels on each, but I think they reversed the items unfortunately. Hot is allegedly a ghost pepper level, and they aren't lying. Would recommend if people aren't good with spicy to stick with Medium and below. To go order felt like it had been out for a few minutes, despite me ordering at location. They had a sizable backlog (waiting 15-20 minutes), so would return to try in person only, if I return at all
We came here for a fundraising event for Washington High School. They serve chicken tender. I was not to fond of chicken tender simply because of my previous experience with other chicken tenders restaurants. The taste for me was always boring. However! Thos place was different. The flavors on their food was surprisingly delicious. It definitely was not boring. The service was prompt and efficient. The place is super casual and clean.
Upon entering the restaurant, it was nice and clean. It even smelled like a clean restaurant. Staff were friendly and very accommodating when we asked for extra pickles. We ordered the 2 slider combo and the Angry Mac. For spice level, I like spicy food but I didn't want to get it too spicy where I can't enjoy so I got the medium spice level & it was perfect. This is the exact spice level I'm looking for whenever I order medium from other chicken spots. It had a spicy kick but wasn't overpowering, very enjoyable. Sometimes other spots' medium level isn't spicy at all. This place hit the mark. I do wish that the chicken was a little bit crispier, but flavor was there. Will be coming back.
It might have been a mistake coming here the week they opened because the place was packed. I felt bad for those dining in because everyone waiting for their order was standing wherever there was an open spot even if it's inches from a diner. There weren't any open tables, so we brought our food home. Their chicken is a-mazing. The chicken was thick, juicy, and tender. We tried 3 spice levels, Country (no spice), Medium, and Hot. I love the Country because you can really taste the chicken. The Hot was burning, and the Medium was perfect for giving you a good kick without burning your throat. The coleslaw and pickles on the sliders were tangy and crunchy. The toast was really good, but the buns on the sliders got a little smashed. The fries were seasoned well and was very good. I love that they have an "Extra Slider" option, which is just a single slider for under $8. I wish you could order just tenders, but they only come in a slider, on toast, or in a bowl. Overall, I'm so happy to have another chicken sandwich place in Fremont. I'll be back when the crowd dies down.
Accidentally stumbled upon their opening day while trying to eat elsewhere, but it was a great find! Because I got there on opening day in the evening around 8pm, I waited about 20 minutes to order. The place was packed and loud, but that was a given since they just opened. My friend and I managed to snag a table as other customers were leaving. The food came out pretty quick, in about 10 minutes. I got the Angry Mac with medium spice. It was super good! The mac and cheese wasn't dry, the chicken tenders were juicy, and the fries were great! Despite getting the "perfect heat," I felt that it wasn't at all spicy; I'll try "Hot" next time to compare. I poured the secret sauce on the tenders and fries, which gave it more flavor. The sauce itself was sweet and tangy. I would go again once the hype goes down, since the bowls were pretty good and filling.

Got 1 hot and 1 mild in for #3 combo and holy crap that hot was hot. Delicious chicken but the spice is no joke. Everything came out fast but there was barely a line when we got there so I am not sure how it was after....yes a big like formed. Brand new spot so everything is clean and crisp in terms of appearance. Staff was friendly and fast and food was great. I won't be messing with Hot or higher but will be back read more

Went during opening day and it was super busy. However the food did not disappoint. I ordered the Hangry fix and the Angry Mac and both were *chefs kiss* . Beware though, hot is actually quite hot but not overwheelming. (Not as hot as buldak noodles though) I usually dont like wet mac but it was flavorful and paired nicely with the chicken seasoning. The rice was nice to balance out all the flavor and seasonings -- which is why i prefer the rice over the fries in that regard. Cant wait to come back!! read more

I was Very Blessed I was in line with Another Yelp Elite Ariana and a Very Lovely Latina and her Cousin. The line was very Hot and my new Lovely Latina Friend Blessed me with a Strawberry Smoothie and her Cousin with a Banana one .!!! From a Neighboring Business !!!! Marching Band and Djs entertaining the line! It way a Very Nice and Festive Grand Opening!!! It's also their first store in Alameda County!! More to Come!!! I was Fortunate to Score an Angry Chickz Grand Opening Limited Edition Jersey!!! Yea !!!! When I finally made it to the Head of the Line!! I ordered a Number 3 and an Angry Mac both with Mild Sauce!! The fall of a newly open restaurant is imminent if not ran correctly, The wait for food is excessive. Cleaning supplies littered around the mobile pickup area when they should be in a janitor closet. The employees looking stressed. When this place first opened, the kitchen and the front was bustling with many employees, giving a Jollibee vibe of teamwork and quickness! Now, you have the employees looking stressed as heck while we wait almost 30 minutes for food with one at the front and two in the back. All I ordered was 2 tenders. The stress made the employee order wrong items which I pointed out for her. Kudos for her for not cracking under pressure because I would. I feel you Kimberly. Covering that hectic stress with a smile while there's 8 people waiting for food. I'd choose Dave's Hot Chicken over this place most of the time, I just came here for my lunch break, and it's almost over and haven't gotten my food yet. My review is for two separate orders: 1. Online (Jan 16): I had ordered #1 Two hot chicken sliders with slaw, pickles, and fries. One slider mild and the other medium. 2. Dine-in(Jan 23): ordered the #1 again but this time one mild and the other Hot. It is definitely better to enjoy the meal dining in rather than take out. By the time I ate the online order it was a bit soggy. However, dine-in was really good. The chicken is really flavorful and I like their sauce. When it comes for spice they ain't kidding. I thought I can handle hot and it was fire alarm on my lips haha. The cashier was really sweet she came to check on me as I was not looking that good. Didn't realize they use ghost peppers for heat. Gulp! Anyway, She gave me soda and that helped to cool down the heat for a bit. Phew! The fries are really nice too. They go really well with the sauce. Overall a good fast food place. Lesson learned mild or max medium for me. read more

I see you Angry Chickz, I see you. I was actually gettin' a bit fatigued from all these spicy chicken places opening up in the last 5 years. Kinda like the poke craze of the 2000teens. There's at least 6 in my area and there's several food trucks with this concept as well. But I literally walked past this one evening so I gave it a whirl. I gotta say I was digging it. Super minimalist menu all white meat chickie tenders, lightly coated in a seasoned flour dredge. Very subtle crunch, no hard crackling. Then it gets dusted in a spicy dry seasoning on choice of multiple levels of heats. I'm not a hot head but if you are this seems like a place to make yer mouth and sweat glands zing with zest. #3 Classic ($14/4*) This is basically 2 monster fried chicken tenders atop some buttery toast and served with fries. The Chicken: for some reason their 'tenders' are super large, like triple the size of the tenders from Cain's which is another exclusively tenders shop. But to their credit their tenders do remain tender and not tough like I thought. And their coating/exterior is so flavorful from salt and spices that the thick meat really absorbs the blow quite nicely. I tried their 'medium' heat level and it was perfect for me. Slight heat without any harsh stinging or sweating. I won't even venture to any other level, no need for my sake. The toast is super thick and soft. Good chew too so not that paste-y Wonder Bread type. It has a slight toast and is very buttery, almost saturated. Maybe a hint of garlic too. I really liked this and I usually don't like most breads from fast food setups. I think different people will eat this in their own ways. Some may eat this like a sandwich and some may go back and forth on eating the tenders and toast. There's also dill pickle chips on top of the chicken and I loved the punchy acidity to go with the bites of chicken and toast. Imma actually gonna ask for extra pickles next time. Trust. The fries are super crisp and coated in that spicy dry spice. Very flavorful with salt and red spices. It is actually too salty for me as I only ate half the fries. Hangry Fix Bowl ($15/4.5*) This is an awesome one bowl stop. You get both a creamy Mac n cheese, some buttered rice, some coleslaw for crunch and I believe just 1 big tender chopped up in small pieces. It filled me up just fine but for bigger appetites, you may need a meal with 2 tenders. This was perfect for me. But to have all these diverse bites from creamy n cheesey to crunchy and tangy to meaty and spicy is just a ride I can do over and over again. I also love how they just have 1 size drink and it isn't a monster size and it is only $2 extra to complete your meal. Service has always been decent, people clean tables and if it's busy in there, they'll give you an estimate on your waiting time so you can make a decision if it is doable for you. I love the proactive communication. So not a big chain guy, but for this small Cali chain I gotta give them props. Credit given where credit is due. read more
If you wanna get filled up, get an angry mac & cheese. Very difficult to finish this whole thing in one setting. I usually have it for two meals. You can alter your level of spices. It has mac & cheese chicken tenders and french fries along with a special sauce. I would recommend adding honey to it also. Easy to order online you walk in and it's a clean welcoming environment. Staff is always friendly and ready to greet you and make sure your order is there. read more

Came here with my family without any expectations, and I'm so glad we gave it a try! We'll definitely be coming back. I ordered the mild, and it was still a bit spicy for me--but the chicken was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The mac and cheese and fries were also amazingly good! read more

I'm quite a fried chicken fan, especially if it's hot chicken in question. So, I was really excited to hear about an Angry Chickz opening close to home. The store was sparkling clean and still had the "new" feel to it when I visited about a month back. The interiors are pretty nice and I would have liked to dine-in, but it was one of those rare hot days in the Bay area and the store did not have air-conditioning, so I ordered my food to-go. I order the classic combo #3 which comprises one slider, one tender over a slice of bread, and fries, and chose my heat level as "hot". I like spicy food and have a good tolerance for spice, so I generally go with "hot" at a new place and then decide if I should go for "extra-hot" on my next visit. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes, and I was home in another 10 minutes ready to devour my hot chicken. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as great as I had hoped. It was a decent meal - fresh soft chicken, well seasoned fries. The heat was also on point. But overall, the chicken lacked flavor for me. There was something about the spice rub that just didn't hit the spot. For tonight's dinner, I thought I'll just order take out. For our family of 4, I ordered three #1's (2 country & 1 mild) and a side of mac n cheese. In terms of flavor, the sandwich was good. The chicken was juicy but it needed salt. The fries looked like they were seasoned but they were bland. As for the mac n cheese, it was also bland. Our order did take a while to be ready but the food was cold. Even the take out boxes had food stains on the outside and the mac n cheese container was just dumped into the side of the bag. read more
Legit. The chicken is perfectly cooked, and the sauce lives up to the hype. Medium is perfect my son wen t with the hot and said that its just enough heat to remind you that the next level might be over the top. Regardless of the heat level the taste is great. read more

Finally got to try this location!! service was great, really friendly and helpful understanding the diff menu items. We got the 2 slider + fries combo which for $17 is honestly not a bad deal bc the sliders are almost the size as full size sandwiches! Spice level is solid we got Medium, but I think next time I'll try Hot. My fiance and I shared one order and were full and satisfied. Love the different decor in here, and the different artworks with the chicken. I'd def come back!!! read more

I've wanted to try this place for a while now and it was just as good as I envisioned. I ordered the two tenders and fries combo. I initially asked for the "hot" sauce but the young man taking my order suggested I go with the medium on my first visit. Although he did offer me a sample of the hot sauce if I wanted to taste it. I declined the sample and elected to take his advice and went with the medium...and it was delicious. The fries came with a Cajun seasoning which complimented the chicken perfectly. I'm definitely going back and next time I'm going with the "hot" level. read more
