Another year fishing with Angling Unlimited(AU). Each year seems to get better. Without exception, the employees at AU do such an exceptional job at making your stay effortless and enjoying. Our Captain, Spencer and Deckhand Wes were an unbeatable team on the water. Spencer is a fish magnet and Wes never slowed down on making sure we were getting the job done (catching fish). Everyone connected to AU are to be highly commended for their attention to detail and customer service. If you are lucky to find an opening at AU, I would suggest that you book your dates with Kim.

What an amazing experience. Cannot wait for the next time we can head up and enjoy the fishing, the staff, and the accommodations. Just returned and with the help of Capt Sarah and Conner, we got our limits on King Salmon and Halibut each day. Cannot say enough great things about how professional everyone is and how the make sure that you have a great time and do not forget anything. Thanks Carly for working with us to make sure that we got our fish and other essentials back home. If there was a way, I would rate this outfit higher than 5, everyone is topnotch and really assure that everyone enjoys the experience.

Very first fish was a good sized King Salmon which battled deep for a quite a while. I would have been happy to leave it at that but our excellent captain, Sarah, kept us hauling in fat, acrobatic Silver Salmon plus large Rockfish and Halibut. Our boat, The Shearwater, surely had karma, which made me feel safe and sound even when the conditions became a little uncomfortable the second day. I went as a fisherman and came home an angler. With 100lbs of perfect Salmon! Thanks guys and gals!

The team at Angling Unlimited have this business on lock! From the arrangements and accommodations and the epic fishing I don't know why anybody would go anywhere else. Our personal team Spencer and Aaron were awesome to work with! My line was always freshly baited and tangle free and I was killing the Salmon, Halibut, rockfish and Cod. I will be back and will be bringing all of my fishing buddies with me.

Spencer really put us on the fish and we were able to target multiple species (salmon, halibut and rockfish).

Our captain Nate must be related to Aquaman - he has an uncanny ability to know how long to fish one spot before trying another. First mate Malachi kept all lines untangled, all hooks baited, and made sure our fish were cleaned/filleted beyond restaurant quality. Back ashore, Kristi and her staff kept our bellies full with just-right family comfort food, and clean, quiet 4-start equiv hotel level accommodations for rest. Would def go again! Pro tip: Bring a seasick patch (Scopolamine). I'm normally sea-sensitive, but between the patch and Nate's boatmanship, I had no problems whatsoever.

The staff at the inn was friendly and accommodating from the very start it seemed that there was nothing they wouldn't do to make our stay enjoyable. Our lodging was more than comfortable with the added bonus of a fantastic view that gets even better when the sun sets. Our hosts, Rich and Karen Kraft, are the nicest couple that take the time to get to know you and make sure there isn't more they can do for you. Courtney and Cameron assists you in the day to day things like shuttling you to the boat and the market if needed. Christie is the awesome chef that provides you with delicious breakfasts and gourmet dinners. Her desserts are to die for, the cheesecake with raspberry sauce being my favorite. She even bakes cookies and crumbles for you to eat on the boat. The fishing turned out to be catching on our trip. Captain Tyler, who is the Kraft's son, is second to none in Sitka. I truly believe we boated more fish in the four days of fishing than any other charter. He expertly put us on the fish every day even when the conditions were rough, and the conditions were pretty rough the last two days. We even limited out on silvers (36) and halibut (6) on the second day by 1:00. We all went home with 92 pounds of salmon and halibut filets. Then there is Caleb our deckhand. Caleb does everything from baiting lines to netting fish to cleaning the catch and making awesome sandwiches made to order. We are very grateful to meet such a fine hardworking young man. I highly recommend this family run Inn/charter to everyone. You absolutely cannot go wrong and you will have an enjoyable experience.

Even though I live in Alaska and really didn't know what to expect and rarely go on tours, not sure why now. I met Kenyatta, the captain/tour leader at the dock and after a safety talk we headed out. We traveled for about 45 minutes across the Bay to where he has his crab pots in the water, we were blessed with a beautiful day. The whole way across he pointed out landmarks and had stories about each one. He knew so much about the culture and history of the area, it was fascinating. Upon reaching the buoys marking the pots he maneuvered the boat in a special way to allow him to gather the line safely, the whole time explaining what he was doing and why. We pulled five pots during the trip and he explained the whole process. Each pot had a different batch of crabs, some were mostly females, some mostly males, (I can sex crabs now). He explained why this might have been and why placement is important. One pot had over 25 huge crabs and all males (the only ones crabbers can keep). We reset all the pots with bait and headed back to the dock. I brought my binoculars on the trip and saw lots of wildlife, including a whale. The tour was great, the boat was large and very stable, I never felt queasy. Kenyatta is very knowledgeable and has a great personality adding to an overall fun afternoon. I'd highly recommend the tour and a stop at the crab tent after.

His passion for his job was reflected in every bit of history and culture he shared with us. His knowledge on whales' patterned behavior enabled us to enjoy our adventure to the fullest. Who knew that whales can be identified by the spots (or lack there of) on their tail? The tour he offers is the complete package; we were able to watch whales in their natural habitat (and sea lion and seals) and enjoyed a delicious crab feast (included with the tour), all at a really reasonable price. Thanks for making our vacation extra special, Kenyatta! Hope to return to Sitka in the near future and we look forward to another whale watching adventure with you.

Continental breakfast is advertised and all that was offered is bagels and toast, no protein which was expected with the continental breakfast expected. License not included in package price and limits on fishing not discussed prior to boarding the boat. Also, package states unlimited packaging of fish caught, but we were charged $10 per box of fish. Again, charged without any communication of these fees. Group of 2 treated considerably different than group of 12 on the trip. If you do not go fishing and stay at the lodge you will not be provided with lunch (and have no way to get food otherwise). The large group (a few people that stayed also) was provided lunch after group of 2 was told they would not get lunch because they stayed at the lodge instead of fishing that day. Also told new group was coming in early and we would have to be relocated to a hotel before our trip was over. This was very upsetting. As we paid for the entire stay prior to arrival. Paid over 3k per person, airfare and tip to boat captain, will not support this business again.
