My husband has been on multiple fishing trips and said this one far exceeds any he has ever been on. Their attention to detail, customer service, and communication is outstanding. What impressed us the most was how hardworking the staff was. Our captain, Captain DJ, and deckhand Luke were some of the most hardworking people I have ever met. While on the boat, they consistently provided the best experience for us and ensured we had everything we needed for a great 3-days of fishing. I also want to say a big shout out to our hostess, Synneva, for all her help during our trip. She was beyond friendly, helpful, and professional from the moment we met her at the airport until the end of our trip - which appeared to be a common thread with all of the hostesses! Lastly, this company is beyond streamlined with logistics. From the day we arrived, I felt like we never had to wait. They were so on top of being on time - ensuring customers got to their destination quickly and promptly. At the end at the airport, when we were greeted by two young boys who packaged our fish, I still couldn't believe how friendly they greeted us and ensured we were all set to go to end our trip. The top-notch service never stopped! Overall, this was the best honeymoon we could have ever asked for (not to mention - we brought home SO much fresh fish!). Thank you to the whole team at Angling Unlimited for making this happen for us. I can say with 100% confidence we will be back - and hope to bring many more friends and family with us next time!

I was transported to the hospital emergency room. I passed out at the airport, therefore I did not make the trip. I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation. This would have been my 9th trip with Angling Unlimited. I have been a loyal returning customer. When I called to see if I could get a credit towards next year I was told that "it is not,our policy". There are exceptions to every policy made. I feel like I've been loyal to them for eight plus years and they would not bend their policy to help me out! If they would have offered a 50% credit, I would have been happy with that. I am so disappointed in their response. I was told that because there was only 3 fishermen on our boat that they couldn't do anything for me, but I know within our group, which had a total of three boats that one of the boats had only 3 fishermen on it. A small company should be able to "bend" their policy for a returning loyal customer. Rick Granzella

It wasn't long after we got to our first fishing spot that the 4 of us realize real quick that the Captain Mike had a very short temper and he was very quick to yell and cuss when something didn't go right. He started on an individual who has never fish the seas before, yes he had trouble working the reel when lowering his line with the down rigger, keep breaking free of the line clip, which was really just an learning experience and no need to be put down in front of others. My turn came when I caught a salmon, which was a Pink and the Capt said that we didn't need to keep them, so I reel it in and he was knocking it of the line and I was standing behind him with my pole to his left side and down from his face (he was extremely worry about getting hook in the face or eye which is a concern as well as breaking his $200.00 pole) well he started yelling at me to get "back ", we were standing in the starboard / stern corner with the motor cover behind me so when he told me to get BACK! I jump over the motor cover to the port/stern corner well, he got to the middle of the deck and started yelling at me what the directions of the boat are, pointing to Port, Starboard , Bow and stern and said to me when "I say get back I want you to go to the Cabin.".I quickly told him to Calm down and quick yelling at me for it was not call for". I was quit upset at this time not just for this but mainly for his piss poor attitude towards everyone.( yes, he did apologize to me for his actions, but he just kept getting mad and them apologize, can't tolerated that conduct for long) Chuck was getting very upset with him and really wanted to just quit. On the third day Chuck caught a salmon , latter we saw a couple of Sea Lions in the distance. Well wouldn't you know one of the sea lions headed right for Chucks salmon he had, well not for long the sea Lion knock the fish in the air and had himself a good meal, mean while Chuck now had a 600 lb sea lion on his line, instead of the Captain simply cutting Chucks line he started yelling at Chuck to hold the reel and snap the line, (Chuck has a disability and he just can not used his hands properly to allow him to stop the reel from turning) and with this, lines got tangle up and well just a real mess, with one very piss of captain, I DO BELIEVE THIS IS PART OF FISHING, if you can't tolerated it then don't do it.!!~!! On the third day I realize that not a single picture has been taken of the fish the 4 of us had caught for the last two days. So I ask Capt Mike if we could get some pictures. We could only take pictures of the salmon , the Halibut was all fillet out. The 3 of us not Chuck ( he was in the cabin very upset and didn't want to fish anymore) I ask Chuck to come out and he wouldn't well at least it look that way to me, I found out latter that Capt Mike refuse him entry on to his deck What the Hell was that for!. This is really a shame to be treated this way after spending thousands for an fishing adventure of our life time. The only thing that made L&M charter worthwhile were the 2 ladies (Peggy and Sandy) that cater to our needs and provided extremely excellent meals, Capt Mike really failed in his customer relations,he should also do a safety briefing before folks board his boat. I won't recommend L&M Charters to any one.

Continental breakfast is advertised and all that was offered is bagels and toast, no protein which was expected with the continental breakfast expected. License not included in package price and limits on fishing not discussed prior to boarding the boat. Also, package states unlimited packaging of fish caught, but we were charged $10 per box of fish. Again, charged without any communication of these fees. Group of 2 treated considerably different than group of 12 on the trip. If you do not go fishing and stay at the lodge you will not be provided with lunch (and have no way to get food otherwise). The large group (a few people that stayed also) was provided lunch after group of 2 was told they would not get lunch because they stayed at the lodge instead of fishing that day. Also told new group was coming in early and we would have to be relocated to a hotel before our trip was over. This was very upsetting. As we paid for the entire stay prior to arrival. Paid over 3k per person, airfare and tip to boat captain, will not support this business again.

Our captain Nate must be related to Aquaman - he has an uncanny ability to know how long to fish one spot before trying another. First mate Malachi kept all lines untangled, all hooks baited, and made sure our fish were cleaned/filleted beyond restaurant quality. Back ashore, Kristi and her staff kept our bellies full with just-right family comfort food, and clean, quiet 4-start equiv hotel level accommodations for rest. Would def go again! Pro tip: Bring a seasick patch (Scopolamine). I'm normally sea-sensitive, but between the patch and Nate's boatmanship, I had no problems whatsoever.

The staff at the inn was friendly and accommodating from the very start it seemed that there was nothing they wouldn't do to make our stay enjoyable. Our lodging was more than comfortable with the added bonus of a fantastic view that gets even better when the sun sets. Our hosts, Rich and Karen Kraft, are the nicest couple that take the time to get to know you and make sure there isn't more they can do for you. Courtney and Cameron assists you in the day to day things like shuttling you to the boat and the market if needed. Christie is the awesome chef that provides you with delicious breakfasts and gourmet dinners. Her desserts are to die for, the cheesecake with raspberry sauce being my favorite. She even bakes cookies and crumbles for you to eat on the boat. The fishing turned out to be catching on our trip. Captain Tyler, who is the Kraft's son, is second to none in Sitka. I truly believe we boated more fish in the four days of fishing than any other charter. He expertly put us on the fish every day even when the conditions were rough, and the conditions were pretty rough the last two days. We even limited out on silvers (36) and halibut (6) on the second day by 1:00. We all went home with 92 pounds of salmon and halibut filets. Then there is Caleb our deckhand. Caleb does everything from baiting lines to netting fish to cleaning the catch and making awesome sandwiches made to order. We are very grateful to meet such a fine hardworking young man. I highly recommend this family run Inn/charter to everyone. You absolutely cannot go wrong and you will have an enjoyable experience.
