Instead of digging into the same knot over and over, she works the connected areas and releases the tension that way, so the knot actually resolves without the whole session being painful. Relaxing during massages has never been easy for me. I usually spend half the time trying not to tense up, but she's the only therapist I've had who can get me to fully relax for the entire session.
