Huge portions of amazing rice, beans, stews, plantains and more. We usually get the stewed or baked chicken and it always hits the spot.

I don't care what anyone says--New Jersey and New York have the best Spanish food! I had to drive…read more39 minutes just to get some, and this is literally the only Spanish restaurant nearby. And just to be clear, when I say Spanish food, I'm not talking about Mexican food. The pernil was decent. I liked that the meat was tender and had good flavor, but I felt like it could have used a little more seasoning overall. The skin wasn't as crispy as I would have liked, and unfortunately, it kept getting stuck in my teeth. The arroz con gandules was alright--nothing that really stood out. The chicken stew, however, was great! The meat was so tender that it practically fell right off the bone.

So glad to discover this gem while visiting Catskill! I…read morestopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the food on the buffet line looked and smelled incredible. There were so many options, including goat, oxtail, pigs feet and more popular proteins like pernil, chicken and beef. My fiance and I decided to share a large plate and I'm so glad we decided to share because the portion was HUGE!! We got yellow rice, black beans, stewed chicken, pernil and maduros all piled high on a plate. We also got a bottle of water and a tamarind Jarritos soda. They had a ton of different bottled beverages and a few desserts options too. They also have many made to order menu items, including Mofongo. The food was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. Everything was cooked to perfection. We also loved their housemade jalapeno hot sauce. The staff was friendly and there were a few tables if you prefer to dine in. I can't recommend Angel's enough!

I was just driving around when I spotted La Fogata on the corner. A Colombian restaurant? Yes, please--I was seriously hungry. I think my eyes did the ordering because I definitely got too much food, haha. Sebastian, my waiter, was incredible--super friendly and attentive. And the food? Absolutely fantastic. It hit the spot perfectly. I was so full I wasn't sure I'd make it back to my hotel. Totally useless and ready for a nap. The staff was amazing, and the food was so good that I came back the very next day for dinner. Highly recommend this place!

The restaurant had some lovely paintings, traditional bags, flowers, and other decorations. We were excited to try some traditional Colombian food, and appreciated the diversity of the menu. We ordered the bandeja tipica and the arroz con Camaro was, which was more than enough for two adults and two toddlers. My favorite was the arroz con camarones, as the yellow rice was wonderfully spiced and flavorful. The shrimp were delicious, and the tostones in both dishes also scrumptious and not too dry. The bandeja tipica's steak was cooked just right, that is to say not overcooked and still tender. The pork belly was too fatty for our taste, but it had a crispy texture and was well-seasoned. For their amount of meat and overall portion, the prices were fair to slightly high. The service was pretty good. We enjoyed our experience, but probably wouldn't go out of our way if we were in the area again.
