That ended up being an incredible choice because the baguettes made amazing grilled cheese sandos in our little kitchenette, and the rye bread was a hit for breakfast with avocado. The chai was delicious and the coffee was stellar. We stopped back in for lunch on our way back home, and had yummy breakfast sandwiches that were delicious! My croissant breakfast sandwich was next level with delicious bacon and flaky, buttery croissant deliciousness that I would have once more in a heartbeat! It's a lively little joint, located in the great part of town , with wonderful young folks running the place and a great mix of tourists and locals.

Really hard to make decisions. Luckily I'm there weekly so I get to try most everything. The lavender shortbread squares with half dipped in dark chocolate, sprinkled with lavender, are my favorite. Only available in the cooler months as chocolate melts in the heat, I always buy a box of 6 for $10. They also make a great little hostess or just because gift for a friend. Everyone else is already finishing up their drinks and meals. Wanting just one drink after a long day, I head to the bar! My wife asks me to get her one too. Here's where it gets bizarre. Kickstand has a bar...well, it looks like a bar. But what I found out is that it's just for looks because it doesn't act like a bar. I thought ordering two cocktails and paying for my drinks would be easy, like it is at every bar in town. But the bartender, I mean employee standing behind a bar, asked if I was with the large group. I stated, "yes, I was." Then she proceeded to tell me that the drinks would be on someone's tab. But I showed up late...I don't know what's happening. I don't know who's paying for the "tab". I just wanted to buy two drinks and walk away. But that wasn't allowed at Kickstand. Then another employee walks up and attempts to take my drink order. Super confused, I tell her the employee standing behind the bar just took my drink order. And then we proceeded down the tab conversation again. The second employee said because "we" were a party of 8 or more, I couldn't pay for my own drinks and I they would have to put it on the party's tab. But again, I don't know who owns the tab. If it was the woman having the birthday, I didn't want to add to her bill...on her birthday. Then they suggested I "could just Venmo" the party girl. No! I want to just order two drinks and have Kickstand take my money. Why wouldn't they just take my money?! The place was dead tonight, other than the 5 or so small daycarel families, sitting at their own tables, that made up the "party". I canceled my drink order and walked away out of protest and principal. When asked if I was with the big party, I should have said no I guess. Lesson leaned for next time, if there is a next time. Kickstand, you're so difficult and frustrating!!
