They have lots of other options in the café also. All I can sum it up with is you have to look at their website and visit their cafe. They have SO much to offer, including cookie decorating, camps during breaks, and so much more. The best venue I've ever used and was definitely worth the price.

Not a great place, but definitely center of the fairway. The first time we came, our Pack stayed in the upper area. This past weekend, we stayed in the main field. We had plenty of room, the staff were extremely accomodating/nice and the facilities were great. The location on the river was nice. The entire Pack had a great time. We didn't really know where to get water and they basically said - go to that field and it was the end of our interactions with the check in. The kids did the climbing wall, which was kinda ok as well as the low ropes which was definitely lame and you shouldn't waste your money. They were nice and it was interesting, but not worth the money. Basically, it was a teambuilding exercise. The Scouts had the usual incredible time, but that comes any time you put a bunch of young kids on a field and camp out. We had fun, have been before and will probably come again in a couple years. If you are looking for a place for your Cub Scouts to camp, come here. Just don't waste your money on the "extra" activities.

This is a place that I've driven past a million times and always sort of meant to give a chance…read more This week I took my four-year-old to an open trial class they offered (fantastic idea) and we had a blast. As an open class sort of affair, there were a lot of kids in different age groups and skill levels. The instructors immediately noticed my very intimidated little one and worked to make him feel welcome and capable. He tried to keep up, broke down in tears once or twice about how hard it was, but kept trying thanks largely to the encouragement of the other kids and wonderful instructors. He made it to the end of the class and reported that he had a great time. He was drawn to a large trophy, was daunted by the idea of having to earn it over lots of time and effort. Yeah, I think this will be good. I did martial arts when I was younger and appreciate the value they have in terms of teaching discipline, self control and confidence. This place is great. There are different classes for different skill levels, meaning if you're interested at all there's probably something for you. I'm not sure if we have the opportunity to sign up at this moment or if we'll have to wait and do it later, but I'm definitely excited to do this again.

The facilities are clean and they have many different rental options available. I planned a womens getaway for no reason other than to just get away. No kids. No men. No schedule. It was awesome! Camp Idlewild was the perfect destination. Inexpensive and AWESOME! Laying out in the field to star gaze in the middle of the night is my favorite. You can't get that view in Hampton Roads for sure! They are a Motorsport camp, so all things car related, perfect for my 12 year old who is obsessed with cars. They also host an Astro camp for those whose interest is space. While my son was there they did tons of driving on and off road, built rockets and launched them, did star gazing with the telescopes they have there, learned car mechanics, and so much more, including regular camp stuff: bonfires, swimming, sports, etc. Another pro was the ban of electronics; no iPads, video games, phones, etc. They keep the kids so busy, they won't miss them. One nice touch was the Thank You card they had the kids write home to parents. A courtesy I have always had my son perform, a good lesson in gratitude. Everyone working there was very personable, kind and helpful. They posted photos of the days activities each night. Any email to camp staff, both leading up to and during camp, was always responded to in a timely manner. This camp was perfect for my kid. He really thrived here. I was nervous, it being his first sleepaway experience, but he had no problems whatsoever and made friends easily with other campers. He's already looking forward next year. I may have to stowaway in his suitcase so I can go too!
