The director and assistant director were very welcoming, friendly and helpful in addressing all of our questions and concerns. Although my daughter wishes she could come home afterschool, Midlothian Kids Academy has provided a safe place for her with age-appropriate activities. Classroom staff is always inviting and engaged when I come to pick her up! Shout out to Ms. B's class!!!

Avoid Midlothian Kids Academy at all costs…read more This daycare has extremely high staff turnover and poor supervision of the children. When my son moved to the two-year-old classroom, we were told they would help with potty training -- but within a week they began complaining about accidents and even suggested we bring in Pampers. It was clear they just didn't want to do their job. I refused, and ironically, my son's potty training improved right after that. The food they serve is subpar -- my son comes home hungry every day. Classrooms are often combined because they're short-staffed, creating chaos and disorganization. When incidents happen, they rarely communicate unless you call to ask what happened. One of the most concerning experiences was when my son came home with his face visibly swollen from crying. We were told he had a hard time going to sleep at nap time -- but we picked him up at 5 p.m., which means he was left crying unattended for an extended period of time. That's completely unacceptable and heartbreaking for any parent to hear. Worst of all, the director is dismissive and gaslights parents instead of being transparent or taking accountability. If you care about your child's safety, nutrition, and emotional well-being, run far away from this place.

This is a…read morehorribly managed and understaffed facility where your child's health and welfare are at risk. I made the mistake of enrolling my daughter at Skipwith commencing 8/29/22. My wife and I decided to withdraw our daughter from Skipwith on 9/22/22. In the span of less than one month, we received three different emails from the Skipwith administrators requesting we keep our child home due to "significant staffing issues" at the school. In addition, we encountered at least four different teachers who cycled through my daughter's PREP class. Worst of all, my daughter suffered a serious ankle injury while in attendance (images attached). When my daughter suffered her ankle injury, no one from Skipwith notified us. Instead, we discovered the injury upon picking her up from school. We promptly notified the head administrator at Skipwith of the incident and provided immediate notice of my daughter's withdrawal. In response, the head administrator denied "seeing anything happen." If that wasn't bad enough, after withdrawing our daughter, the head administrator continued to hound us for an alleged unpaid tuition bill (despite my repeated requests for clarification on how the bill was calculated). Skipwith's head administrator then opted to turn the bill over to collections rather than engaging with me, the paying parent, directly. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a learning center. I would strongly encourage any parents thinking of enrolling their child at Skipwith to consider other options in the area (Primrose, Goddard, Cedarhouse, just to name a few).

Then some teachers are just there for a job not because they want to be around kids. I picked up my son nasty, with poop in diaper, and missing a shoe numerous time. The last time I picked him up before we left, he had poop dried up his back, 1 shoe, and when I asked for his spare clothes they handed me the lost and found bucket to pick from and not his clothes I had previously brought in. Not to mention one day I got there to pick up my son and the DIRECTOR walked another kid out of a class at front door and said here you go have a great day, just for me to inform her that wasn't my kid. I withdrew him after 3 months. And only waited that long to get my schedule switched to wait for new daycare.
