Beautiful weather in mid October made for a wonderful weekend getaway for our 20th wedding…read moreanniversary..  Peggy warmly greeted and checked us in followed by a property tour. The building was quaint with each room tastefully decorated with cool and funny schoolhouse memoirs.  Well kept grounds included a pool, vegetable garden, vines and bicycles, with close proximity to local restaurants and shops.  We enjoyed the balcony for Schoolroom #4 every opportunity we had. The claw tub bath/shower provided a functional look into the past while the outdoor bath  provided a unique treat of showering under the stars. We ordered the wine and flowers package and were delightfully happy to see that the flowers were beautifully arranged in a vase in our room.  And the wine chilled upon arrival just begging to be enjoyed. Our gourmet breakfast was sparse but tasty with fresh squeezed OJ.  And dinner hosted by Chef Meseret was exquisite dining at its best.  She loves cooking and it's reflected in her dishes. .. every item was fresh and flavorful with the generous crab cake entree a show stopper.  It was all crab.. no fillers, just a bit of egg to hold it together. We had an enjoyable weekend and hope to explore the area more on another visit.

He hesitated, but then let me do so. I thanked him profusely for letting me use the restroom. I went on my way and got in my car 30 seconds later I was exhausted by this gentleman who proceeded to tell me how inconsiderate it was of us to come to an establishment in the park in front of a business. I however, did not know that we were parked in a space that was not appropriate to, but more than that. I was shake it. He knocked on my car door and proceeded to berate me for parking in front of a business establishment. He said he hoped that I would come back. I'm not really sure what he meant by that nor would I ever come back to a place where I was scared in uncomfortable. I can't really say anything about what he served or anything he did, but I will reiterate that it was so inappropriate of him to knocked on my car door. It scared me to the point where I thought about it any hours in the day.

She has seen weddings, receptions, birthdays, proms, quenceneras, baby showers, bridal showers, engagement announcements, rehearsals, bridal shows, retirement parties, dinner parties, public and private Teas, Holiday parties, business meetings, celebrations of life, fund raising events and even political rallies. The house was originally built in 1770 by William Walthall and passed down to his daughters, Polly and Susannah (our purported ghost), then sold to a Doctor Anderson who extended the front of the house in the 1830s. Later, he sold it to a Doctor Friend who resided there when she would serve as a civil war hospital. Sold again, yet to another doctor, Dr. Thomas Cheatham, the house grew again to form a “T” shaped structure. After his death, the home would fall into severe disrepair only to be restored in the 1930s and named Wrexham. The Hague family lived there and maintained what became a “mansion” in the 1960s when it was added to once again. The new addition begged for an upgraded name, which is the now, Wrexham Hall. Sold to Judge Gates in the 1970s, he would sell it and have it moved to its current location. The last addition was made by the Brennan family, an event room that would serve many for years to come. Now owned by Greg and Carol Marion. She is still an event space as well as a Bed and Breakfast. Come Enjoy

The shop features household items, decor, quilts, knitted and woven items, made by local Virginian artisans. There are a few studios in the back where artists-in-residence can be found working on their crafts, and classes available (there was a beading class in session the day I was there.) The clerk was a volunteer, as I think is all the staff, and she was super nice and gave me lots of information about the shop and artists. I bought an adorable knit jellyfish ornament (pictured) even though I was originally planning on just looking. Then I went through to the cafe, also manned by volunteers, these from the culinary guild. They had soups, a salad option, a sandwich option, and some baked goods, mostly already prepared. I got the autumn chopped salad with spring mix, apples, avocado, bacon and a cheddar cheese dressing. It came with a choice of fresh baked bread and I picked a molasses cornbread variety that was AMAZING. The sandwich option, which I did not get, is also worth mentioning because it was a grilled cheese with BACON AND JAM and sounded incredible. My salad was delicious though and I needed some greens in me. The volunteers were all so nice and helpful. I love this place!

My family and I attended their first ever Victorian tea this afternoon and we were very impressed!…read moreWe knew that HyCo House was doing more events and trying different things out so we went in w an adventurous attitude! The table that was set for the 6 people attending, was well thought out and lovely. Every detail was put in with a lot of care. Tabitha greeted us and invited us to sit down. We weren't sure where to put our coats since we were all wearing multiple layers and had dress coats so we looked to the next room to lay our coats on a chair. Then the tea started we had 4 lovely locally sourced teas throughout the afternoon and so many small plates to go along w the tea. As pictured below along w an orange ginger spice cake, crumpet and several scones. I enjoyed everything and it was all prepared with a lot of details and care put in! My only suggestion would be to provide a menu ( whether written in the room or at each place setting) so that you know what's coming and can refer back to things you like. Tabitha was very knowledgeable about each plate and told us that the pastries were from a local bakery ( which were amazing). She also mentioned the savories were made on site! The teas were really tasty, and served in beautiful porcelain tea pots. My only wish is that they had been a tad hotter. I loved all the cross collaborations with local farms and businesses! Our experience was really amazing and Tabitha was open that it was there first time and I believe that this tea was more of a tapas presentation with all the amazing flavors and variation of foods rather then a tea that traditionally has small sandwiches and sweets accompanied by creams, butter and jams... do not get me wrong I loved everything I ate and drank. It was a heavy food offering that may have been better suited for a wine tasting or something along those lines. I will absolutely continue to be on the look out for future events and can't wait to see more amazing things!!!! Thank you for a lovely afternoon!!!!

I believe this place is fairly new, because I so remember something else being in this spot some years ago. However, I could be wrong, but let's focus on present day... I was invited to a 50th birthday celebration here last Saturday. I had a general idea of where the place was located since I am sorta familiar with the area being a native and all. But we arrived close to 7pm and everything was all set up. My friend advised us to arrive at 6:45pm because it was a surprise party for her husband... so we popped in and everything was in tact. Even the workers were on their post awaiting to great the guest and provide service. I especially loved seeing this! I don't know about you, but I have been places where people are still setting up or put the early arrival guest in a waiting area until the main area is set. Well not at 757 events, they were on point!! I can be long winded when writing reviews, but I like to give yall an experience and feel how I felt when I visited. Especially, since this is the first review... This place is really all the rage!! Not too big of a event space, but just the right size to entertain a group of 100 maybe more. But a few tables were set up along with a few cocktail tables... a club lounge vibe it gave. I believe the owner decorate the spot, so my friend gave a vision and it came to life last Saturday night. Another big plus... the owner catered the event. The buffet set up is away from the party people... I loved this!!! I didn't have to worry about smelling like food or even the venue smelling like food! The bar set up... another big plus!! I believe the bartender was set up through the owner and he was on point too. Even though he was a one man show, he kept the drinks flowing... no complaints, all smiles!! Now the parking lot is rather small. I did not notice if more parking was behind the building. But if you arrive early enough no worries here, as we did. Overall, this place is gorgeous and far as I can see ran properly and with love! You can tell whoever is behind this, loves what they do. I highly recommend you look into this venue space for your party needs big or small. Take care and enjoy life :)

The staff that was there on the day of my event were also very friendly and professional. We loved the bartender. Most importantly, the food was delicious. Not one complaint was given. You will not be disappointed if you book with 757 events. They handle it ALL, food, decorations, liquor, DJ if needed. My husband had the best surprise party ever. I will book here time and time again. Thank you, Karen, and your wonderful staff!
