Food is delicious And the wine selection even better, if wine isn't your think they do have bottled beer and on draft. It's a great place to for a nice semi fancy dinner or just a casual hang. when weather permits there's a patio. service and staff is always friendly. Every time i go i forget to take pictures of the food i do have these of the speciality pizza Fig and prosciutto it's so good i get it evertime i can. proscuitto, figs, goat cheese, garlic confit oil, arugula, mozzarella, pecorino-romano cheese, balsamic glaze, like come on that sounds good. the crab cakes are also good and the charcuterie is a great starter. believe you won't regret eating anything from their menu. read more

Honestly, I love this place. The Wednesday half price wine nights with life jazzy music is so lovely. Tonight, we had the Al Passo Toscana wine (half price), tomato bruschetta, Caesar salad, cacio e Pepe (with bucatini noodles), and carbonara (w/bucatini). Everything was delicious! Gigi is the best sommelier, Axel is a warm bartender/waiter. I don't know why I haven't parked here at the bar more often. Sharing photos from past meals here...why not?! read more

The ambience is warm, welcoming and cozy. We sat at the bar. We ordered the Chili Thai Fried Calamari. The calamari was cooked perfect. The chili Thai sauce was fresh and very good! We tried the Butternut Squash Pizza, it was the special. So glad we tried it. It was excellent!!! They should keep it on their main menu! The wait staff at the bar were attentive and very nice. read more

We were in our way to a jam night and I needed to find some fun drinks and food. There is not much around those parts but we were so lucky to have found Angelo's Wine bar! We walked in to a fantastic trio playing amazing rock and ballads and were welcomed by the hostess and bartender. We sat at the bar and ordered the burrata pizza, cheese board and I had the most delicious wild strawberry skinny Margarita. I will order that again and again. It was not only delicious but no bad ingredients - hot tip: they make all their margs skinny! Highly recommend it. Will return. Yeay! read more

Rounded up to 3 stars. Mediocre and overpriced Italian food. I can't even say the ambiance is nice because it's usually so loud...I'd recommend only coming here for a drink or two. I was so excited to try their stuffed mushrooms but they paled in comparison to the Salmon cakes. The fettuccine was just average. It only had two broccoli stalks but a decent amount of chicken. Focaccia bread had marinara and cheese...would have preferred it straight up. Cesar salad is kind of sad. Mac n' cheese was okay. Burrata caprese is one of the only dishes I liked. read more

Go for the drinks, but skip the small portions of overpriced pasta. We were really excited to try Angelo's because they always seem busy. After awkwardly standing there, without anyone acknowledging us, we were finally seated. It was later on a Friday. and the staff seemed busy, so we didn't think twice about it then. It took a good amount of time before our server came. Again, it was busy so we didn't overthink it. We ordered drinks and food immediately. And got our drinks in a reasonable amount of time. Our food came out right after and I was surprised by how small the portion sizes were for the price. We ordered the carbonara with shrimp and there were 4 burnt shrimp on top. I'm surprised they let it out of the kitchen that way. Not what we were expecting considering you also had to pay $8 up charge for the shrimp. (We could have said something, but didn't want to make waves and it took awhile for our server to check on us so we decided to let it go.). The carbonara tasted more like a glorified macaroni & cheese. We also ordered the seafood fettuccine which had 3 large shrimp and 2 1/2 scallops. It was ok, but the flavor was lacking something. Service was ok. Ambiance was nice but it was very loud with all the people. I think the experience wouldn't have been so bad if the prices didn't reflect a higher expectation. read more

One star off for very limited gluten free options. Service was great and the food I could have was fine. I would go back. The place is cute, but it was cold outside and it felt like a breeze was blowing on our booth. We were not near the door, so not sure why. read more

Great neighborhood place for something a little more than just a pizza, the pizza is also good though. Food choices and Alcohol choices are amazing. Staff are friendly and engaging. Will definitely go back. read more

We were staying in walking distance and our hosts recommended. First, it was Black so Friday and so not a busy night so the staff was extra attentive which made us feel like family. It was candlelit and cozy but if super busy could see it as loud. Many TVs which are not my thing but I couldn't hear them. The Outdoor seating in nice weather looks like amazing space. GiGi the manager and sommelier was also our server for the night. We chatted several times and she made great recommendations. My husband ordered a glass of wine but I tried the wine flight and it was fun! The wines in red are on the menu are the five wines it comes with. The menu is varied in prices with less expensive sharing plates to more expensive entrees. We had the arinicni (incredible) and stuffed mushrooms (average). We shared the Angelo's pizza special (this crust) which was delicious. They had three kinds of pizza. Thin crust, traditional and Chicago deep dish. For dessert, highly recommend the tiramisu and the French press coffee was hot and strong just like I like it! Thank you GiGi and Angelos staff! read more

DELICIOUS! Absolutely terrifically delicious! We stumbled upon this place after a few reviews from a good friend and man am I disappointed that we didn't come sooner. There is a wide variety of food options on the menu so you can make it as cheap or as expensive as you'd like. But let me tell you, the flavors are incomparable. I'm not a huge lover of Arancini but I find myself craving them plus the terrific sauce served with it. Highly recommend getting that plus the burrata caprese. I ordered the chicken alfredo which was the creamy american goodness that I was craving. Husband ordered a delicious carbonara. This will be a staple date night spot for us moving forward. Great service and food! read more

Food and waitstaff are great. Cast iron skillet lasagna and short rib ravioli are reasons to go. Have never had a complaint before now. Ordered Buffalo trace. Watched bartender pour last of bottle into the jigger, then look around when bottle didn't fill measure. He then reached down and filled rest with well bourbon. Couldn't be bothered to go get a new bottle, or let me know if they couldn't fill my order. Tasted terrible. Was someone's guest so did not make a scene at the restaurant. Very disappointing. read more

Made a reservation online for a group of 11. My party arrived in three waves, which I worried would inconvenience and annoy the staff, but they were very accommodating and pleasant. Our server was excellent and helped me navigate the menu for vegan options. Cauliflower steak and the Mediterranean salad were good. My husband enjoyed a regular mushroom pizza. Our wine and beer were good. The bar needs a section to accommodate people using wheelchairs. read more

Visited Angelo's Wine bar for the first time tonight. The restaurant has the feel of a fine dining restaurant crossed with a neighborhood spot. The service was fast and friendly. We started with the arancini which was pretty good but a little bland. The sauce under the arancini was very tasty. My wife also got the Mediterranean salad and said it was delicious. We got the cacio e Pepe and the pappardelle with Bolognese. I really enjoyed both but my wife thought the Bolognese was a bit sweet for her taste. It was my first time having cacio e pepe and I thought it was quite delicious. We will definitely be back. read more

Angelo's is a great neighborhood place. Warm and cozy atmosphere. I like your sit outside in good weather but it's a great place inside when it's cold. The staff is friendly. The drinks are delicious, my favorite is the Speziato. Sooo good! Every meal I've had here is really good. No parking but usually not too hard on the street. Good food, snooty combative, bizarre service. Ordered online choosing option for curbside pickup. Parked next to front door. Confirmation email (ya, not a text!) said to call when I arrived. ... And then Angelo's full bizarreness went into high gear! 1st: Email did not have phone number! 2nd) Website buried phoned VERY deep in several levels of sub menus. Orders are directed to GrubHub where everything on the menu is $5 more expensive (yet they claim "no service fee)"! Phone was answered by a man who said only, " hello (not "Angelo's, how may I help you"?) After identifying my self and order Angelo's man said, "come in and get it." Me... "I asked for curbside. Angelo's... "Come in." Me... "Please bring it out, I'm parked next to the door." Angelo's... "I'm too busy" Note: restaurant has clear, floor to ceiling windows. Place was totally empty! There were no customers. One employee was casually leaning on counter next to the front door and was on cellphone, very obviously texiting. Another was behind the bar going through her purse. Me... "OK, then get some else to bring ELSE to bring it out to the car" Angelo's... "No. Come in. I'm too busy" Me... "I really want you two bring it curbside" Angelo's...angry man drops phone, bar employee goes into into kitchen and quickly brings food out to car. She, also, is a bit angry when she says she doesn't want to out my pizza in my open pizza bag. WTF ANGELO'S? GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER! read more

Totally surprised by this experience, this restaurant has a River North or West Loop feel. Friendly greeting and beautifully laid out restaurant, I was also amazed by the 70s and 80s music, coupled with classic Black and While films on all of the flat screens. As for the food, the generous portions will make you lament your calorie counting or futile workouts. The servings are that big and the food is great!! The calamari pieces were so satisfying, I would recommend serving the giardiniera on the side - for maximum crispness. The cheesey fundido with sausage was incredible!! You'll be tempted to BYOB (bring your own baguette), it's that good. My skillet was really full of meat and the star of the show was really the pizza - the sweet (fig), cheese, prosciutto (salty) and arugula (peppery) on top of that crispy cracker crust made it an instant favorite of mine. And yes, I ate the 1,500 calorie beignets in one fell swoop. I see that they also have an outdoor seating area - hope to be back soon. read more

Hostess spent more time on other peoples dog than she did ok us. Waiting over a hour for our food and didn't get it until we complained. Other people who came in later than us got their food before us which confused me. They didn't seem super apologetic and tried to make it seem like we were waiting super long. At the end, we got our food for free but I won't be coming back which is such a shame. Please improve your customer service if you want to stay in business. read more

The food was edible. Did not have enough servers. Had to go to bar and get my own drinks. The worst was the establishments failure to considers my group and other patrons ability to enjoy are self's. There was a party of 20 or so that was so loud, we could not carry on a conversation. I like having fun, but this 20+ group was obnoxious. The management made no attempt to ask them to be considerate of others trying to eat and converse. Just terrible. Will not be returning. read more

Perfect date night spot! Nice lighting/ambience and you could tell everyone there was having a good time. They also had old black-and-white films playing on the screens which was a cute touch. Service was great - perfect level of attention while still feeling like we could take our time. We loved the stuffed mushrooms and all the wine we drank. Entree-wise I definitely think I'll go for pizza next time around. The pasta we got was pretty good but didn't hold a candle to some other places in the city and the pizza options looked incredible. Dessert might've been the highlight - we got tiramisu and the lemon layer cake and I'm not sure I could pick a favorite. read more

Pretty disappointed with my overall experience here. This is my second time here since 2020, and the service was just as slow and horrible as 3 years ago. The place was not packed, however it took over 20 minutes for anyone to approach our table and/or provide water. We got calamari as an appetizer - probably some of the worst I've had. It was 90% fried bread crumbs and 10% actual calamari. The slow service was almost unbearable, with my elderly father actually suggesting that I post this review. The burger & fries were mediocre at best. The fries were room temperature & soggy. The pizza was also very soggy and barely warm, telling me that our food had been waiting for way too long. My elderly father ordered his meat to be medium well and his meat came out PINK. We wanted to support a local business and it backfired horribly, resulting in a 2+ hour unsatisfactory dinner for just 3 people. Please do better. Such a disappointment. read more

My good friend lives local to Angelos and we both love trying nice new places. Though Angelos is a neighborhood staple, I had never been there. Our waitress and sommelier Gigi was very polite and attentive. She offered their suggestions but we didn't want to do family style and ordered our separate dishes but shared the goat cheese bruschetta. Though there wasn't much goat cheese, it was absolutely delicious. Probably the best I've ever had. I had my heart set on the pasta carbonara but when I saw the restaurant has a fresh made fried chicken and macaroni dish I caved and got that instead. The chicken was delicious and well seasoned, the homemade Coleslaw was great, but the Mac and cheese was completely bland and devoid of flavor. I kind of regret not ordering the pasta. Maybe next time! My dining companion ordered the meatballs and he enjoyed them. Prior to getting the bill I had some pleasant drinks and ordered my husband a pizza to go, with the advance warning the pizzas take 30 mins. When Gigi the waitress told us it was last call, I realized why Gigi had an annoyed look on her face as to why we ordered a pizza so close to closing. We had no idea they closed that early, being that we had a late reservation! Overall, it was a good experience. I'll definitely be back. My pizza loving hubby gave the pizza an 8/10 And I liked it too. read more

Went for breakfast this Saturday. We practically opened the place. There's only 2 of us and we wanted to seat by the window. The staff said that we can't sit there as it was reserved. We came at 11:30am and left an hour later, the group never came. It is hateful to see people lie and I don't understand why they don't want to seat customers where they want to sit especially if there is no one else in the place. As for the food, we had avocado toast: the brioche was thick, light and fluffy - though it should have been warm. And I don't care for several slices of fresh jalapeños on my breakfast Avocado Toast. Amount of shrimp is great but I would lay on the avocado spread ticker. This place is still a dud to me. read more

Wednesday night special had a great wine special, food was great! Service was fast, the ambiance was open and friendly

This is one of our go-to places and I'm so happy to have it in the neighborhood! It's been nice for getting more upscale food delivered. I also really enjoy going in for the ambiance. There is a massive bar in the middle; warm, rustic timber; cozy tables and huge, front windows that fold open on a beautiful day. They usually have old movies playing silently on the TVs. I've found all the waitstaff and bartenders to be friendly, professional and attentive. Some items on the menu are a miss, but several are quite good. We enjoy the three different kinds of calamari, the burrata pizza, the cauliflower and the fig & prosciutto pizza. We've brought our kids in for an early dinner but there's no kids menu and it's definitely more suited to adults and date nights. I definitely recommend checking out Angelo's! read more

I went here last week to hear some jazz. This place has ambience and nice decor.Chill, friendly vibe. We sat at the bar and the bartender was really cool.
