They don't put sauce on their pizza and if you ask for a couple of marinara like you get for free at Casey's gas Station pizza they will not do it. The lady at the front desk says you have to buy a four dollar portion of sauce why the hell would I buy a four dollar thing of sauce when I'm buying a four dollar slice of pizza for lunch they should put sauce on it and do it right the first time a pizza comes with bread sauce and cheese. They're just being cheap. I can understand if they're gonna have slices all day and they want to cut back a little bit And some sauce, but this is outrageous. So being new to town, I had zero idea where my brother who was visiting from Chicago could order pizza for delivery. A Google search brought us to Angelo's delivery. We ordered a 1/2 pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, olive and 1/2 of that same combo plus pineapple. We received a pizza that was half pepperoni, mushroom and blackolive, half cheese. When calling to report the issue, we got told, too bad, if we wanted to buy another pizza they'd send the right one. Needless to say, we declined and tried to eat what we received, which barely had any toppings, was flat and just not a good pizza. Between the sub par pizza and terrible customer service, they lost my business before they got it. My brother and I are both veterans, and we're very disappointed. It was that bad of an experience. Hate to leave a battery view but I just picked up 2 slices and a small soda here for about $8.50 First time here. The pizza was akin to cardboard. Honestly had I been dining in, I would have asked for a refund after a few bites which is something I have never done in my entire life. It was truly bad pizza. We stopped at Angelo's for a quick bite on our way back to Chicago from Iowa City, followed the Yelp recommendations & ordered the Spaghetti Pizza. This location is primarily take out, but there are a few tables where you can sit and enjoy the pizza. It's clean and bright, but not a place for a sit down dinner. Still, for road food it was great. Spaghetti pizza is way better than is sounds. The sauce was perfectly flavored, the sausage was crisp and tasty and the crust was delicious. I can't say that we would make the trip to Sterling just for the pizza, but we would absolutely make the stop if we were passing through on a road trip looking for good food & friendly service! The bread is wonderful and the pizza is consistently amazing. My mom grew up on this pizza and it is the first place we go when we come to town. We have the number in our phone so we can call ahead on our way in from Chicago. We have to stop here before we even see any family. We always get a sausage and cheese pizza. Although we only have it a couple times a year, for over 25 years, it hasn't changed a bit. It is very reliable. When you stop in here you always have to get a loaf of bread. My family is from out of town and visiting for the holidays. Angelos is our favorite place to go so we stopped to bring food back home. We arrived and they told us our order was messed up and we waited 20 minutes for them to fix it. Staff stated that they would give us a large pizza for the mistake. After waiting 20 minutes they did not give us anything for the mistake (not even the large pizza) and our order was still wrong. As much as I love Angelo's pasta, hamburgers, sauce, and lots of other things. The service is drastically going downhill, this is not the first time that I have waited a very excessive amount of time for my food. I was told it would be 45-60 minutes for my hamburger, soda, and meatballs....which in and of itself is excessive....and hour and a half later and still nothing...15mins to get through the busy signal and then 5 minutes in hold. On a Friday or Sunday night this is the place to order from. Pizza is delivered hot and tasty. The sause is sweet, the edges are crispy. The sausage is huge chunks and the cheese is perfect. Ordered large taco with extra sour cream on the side. Normally, i usually order the same but at rock falls store and pickup myself. This time i ordered delivery. Was delivered within what they said. Pizza was way over done, dark brown with some black edges. Must have baked with lettuce and tomato on pizza and normally lettuce and tomatos are put on pizza after being baked. Ordered a pan style pizza with mushroom, black olives, and half sausage. Really had no taste. Sauce was bland, canned, not fresh, mushrooms, BIG turn off, and the sausage was blah. The "pan" style I was anticipating, with the high crust on the edge, turned out to be a "normal" style pizza edge with a thicker bottom crust. Waited 20 minutes for a pasta crock, came back to work with 5 minutes to eat only to find my crock had literally only one piece of pepperoni, one mushroom, and ONE piece of green pepper. The rest was just noodles and cheese which did not fully fill the container. I understand sometimes we have to wait longer for items especially at lunch time, but when I am waiting that long on my timed lunch break I expect the quality to be satisfactory. As always, the food was amazing. It is still hands down the best pizza that I've ever had. However, my last experience there wasn't too good. I called an order for a pickup at 7:30. She said in about a half hour. Comes 8 o'clock, I leave to go get it. I get there about 8:05. After I payed, I was standing there expecting my order to come out in about a minute or less as usual. 5 minutes goes by though and she says it's gonna take about another ten minutes. Fine, so in sit down and wait. It's 8:25 now and I'm STILL waiting for my food. I was gonna ask them how much longer, and if they said about another 5 minutes or more, I was just gonna cancel my order. Luckily for them my order came right up when I went up to the counter. I had finally gotten my food at 8:30. An hour later. Not a half hour like they said, am hour. And to top things off, they almost forgot to give me my pop. I had to show them my receipt to prove it to them tok. I feel like the pop should have been free or even a free loaf of bread as a compensation for taking so long.
