We waited 40 minutes for 3 small pizzas, only 2 came out. Then, 30 minutes later, my other son's pizza came out. Second time I've been here in the last month with slow service and a mess up on our order- never coming back again- this isn't the Angelo's we grew up with. Disappointed. read more

We went tonight and people were crammed in the 2 outside sections while the entire center section sat empty. Our server was stretched very thin which appeared to make it difficult to keep up with the number of tables she had. Our server was very nice and appeared to be working very hard however there were others that didn't appear as friendly. read more

Their Mac and cheese pizza is the weirdest but most wonderful thing I have ever eaten in my life. I ordered the personal size pizza which was more than enough for me. It was DRIPPING with cheese, I mean DRIPPING (as you can see in my photos). And it was the cheesiest cheese too - melty, slightly salty - the way cheese should be. The Mac on top reminded me of Kraft Mac and cheese but nonetheless coupled with the pizza cheese... oooff what an outstanding combo. Try it if you're in town!!! read more

We we're looking for a place to eat in Dixon went on Yelp and found Angelo's it showed open until 10pm. We got to place at 8:15pm and walked in got settled and wait over 20 minutes to get food ordered. Food arrived at 8:58 PM. At 9:30pm the manager came over and started yelling that we had to leave as they closed at 9 pm. I said it's showed your open until 10 PM and didn't get food until almost 9 PM. She then said just leave we have been open till 10 PM for 4 years. I had to get my 88 year old mother-in-law up and as we were leaving the manager said we haven't been open still ten for 4 years again. I tried to show her where I saw 10pm. She then said to us it was time to go! So we did and next time in area we will go somewhere else. read more

I have picked up pizza from Angelo's in the past but this was the first time I ate in. We always get the Spaghetti Pizza. The first time I had it, I was very sceptical but I found out it was good. I decided to order a house salad to start and it was huge. Very fresh but huge! We also ordered the Italian bread. It tasted good but was cold. At least the sauce was warm. A couple of years ago I gave the Rock Falls pizzeria five stars and I would have given six stars if I had the option. It is the best pizza I have ever had. I have been to this one in Dixon a few times and have always enjoyed it. It has everything the RF location doesn't - lots of comfortable seating, a sports bar, a good salad bar. It's a great place for families, with friends, for a first date. If you take a first date to Rock Falls, you better have good game. They use the same recipe for their pizza, too. The same toppings, the same legendary sauce, the same dough at the same thickness. Same pans, and I believe they spent beaucoup bucks for a exact replica of the venerable Rock Falls oven. Well, it's a good pie and I recommend it. But the crust is a bit chewier and the whole pie just doesn't compare. So, first date, Dixon. If she agrees to a second date, take her to Rock Falls. read more

I have eaten Angelo's pizza for 56 years. It is awesome pizza. It is only made properly in the original store in Rock Falls, Illinois. This is not due to the staff, it is the pizza oven they use in Rock Falls. The other locations do not fully cook the pizza like Rock Falls does, so we have to drive to Rock Falls to get it. What a waste of a Dixon store as nice as it is. read more

Angelos has a variety of foods and a buffet. They have amazing bread and the BEST ravioli I have ever had. I don't live in illinois but we come up about 1 time a year and this is ALWAYS our restaurant choice!!!!!! And we have never had a bad experience. You will love Angelos guaranteed. read more

I will travel far and wide for their spaghetti pizza (insert mouth drool emoji!) Seriously, delicious! I always choose this for my birthday dinner! The crust is good, the sauce is good, the cheese is good! Two slices will fill you up, but-- good news is this delicious creation is just a good as leftovers, I'll even eat it cold! I have also tried their taco pizza which is great. Their salad bar is also exceptionally good, if you are choosing to dine in as well. On a recent trip to work on my family genealogy I found myself starving after spending hours re-learning how to use a micro phish machine. I came across this place and the car park was packed. I had the buffet. Everything was fresh due to the large amount of traffic. The sausage pizza was okay. I wasn't crazy for the sauce. I tried the Mac and cheese pizza and had to add pepper, red pepper flakes and salt due to lack of flavor. I also tried a bite of the spaghetti pizza. I am a fan of Angelo's Pizza! Great food, their to-go service has been a disappointment lately. Not taking names, giving the wrong order. When I called I said I wanted a new pizza as by the time I'd drive BACK INTO town (more gas $) ours would be cold. He assured me it would, however my pizza was ready right away. They just put it under a warmer. I pay for a fresh pizza, I wanted a fresh pizza. This past week when we arrived, almost got the wrong order once again. We double checked this time, we're learning! Flew in to Dixon for the day and decided to try this restaurant after a verbal recommendation from an airport employee. Walked in and was immediately welcomed and pointed in the direction of the bar. Hostess staff was friendly, bar tender (Kelsey) was prompt with the drink and food suggestions. Considered the Spaghetti Pizza but the pizza and salad buffet looked decent enough and I decided to go that route. Salad bar was well stocked with lots of choices. Only real negative observation was that the lettuce was quite white (almost out of season white, even for ice berg lettuce). Other than that, it was a nice selection. Pizza bar was also well stocked with a standard variety of slices. I opted for straight cheese as well as the macaroni pizza and was pleasantly surprised with the flavor. Not the best pizza, but not bad by any means. Followed up lunch with a slice of the peach dessert pizza. Reminded me of the dessert pizza I used to get at Pizza Hut back in the day with the crust being a little thicker. Only other negative observation was that when I asked for ice tea I was given a fountain ice tea, not freshly brewed. Lunch was just over $10 for buffet and the drink. I tipped Kelsey nicely as she was good company and quite helpful. Locals at the bar were friendly. All in all, not a bad choice if you're in Dixon and looking for a quick pizza fix. Would have no problem eating here again. I will definitely be trying the Spaghetti Pizza next time however. read more

I grew up on Angelo's pizza, and I think it's still some of the best I've experienced. Even my city-bred, slightly food-snobbish husband requests it every time we come to Dixon. Minus a star for refusing to make the spaghetti pizza with marinara sauce instead of meat sauce. Of course, vegetarians don't get much love in Dixon, but there just doesn't seem to be a good reason for this. read more

Good food but a real pain to try and place an order over the phone. The clueless staff that answers usually can't hear you and doesn't seem to know what's on their menu. If you have a big order to call in or any special requests, good luck. You'll probably end up repeating everything twice. Very good pizza! But our waitress was horrible! We called ahead for the inconvenience for being late at 9:15pm! Waitress was vary rude, didn't acknowledge us, and acted like we are intruding! We asked for more sauce for our spaghetti pizza and she rolled her eyes and screamed to the back "can you get me sauce out of the bucket because they want sauce!" I'm sorry that's super rude!!! We asked for dessert at 9:45 and she said "we close at 9:30pm", I commented "oh, your website said 10pm." She said "no, we lock the doors at 9:30pm but we're open till 10pm!!"
