The Factory Pub N Grub is found among old factories and warehouses. Among the more interesting places to drink and eat. You can get cheaper beers along with a few vegetarian choices so great stuff. Coming here the first time it wasn't crowded. It's got a bigger than expected interior. The bar is in the middle and there's plenty of tables. A great thing is they have discounted beers. It's about $2 to get beers they're trying to get rid of from previous events or whatever. A lot of the menu is meaty. Still there's a few plant based things. It's about $15 for an Impossible Burger. This comes with the usual burger toppings. Great place with an industrial hipness about it. It's closed Sundays. The menu is meaty but there's a few things for vegetarians.

Tonight we wanted fried chicken so badly, we drove to Sterling to check-out their KFC, and we just finished our feast ... Everything was fantastic and the service was a breath of fresh air in the current climate. The team-member who served us was very friendly and accommodating. We had our meal after a short wait because we wanted fresh chicken, and it was another nice surprise to see everything we ordered in the bag when we got back home. We decided not to check before we left because the service was so good and the place run so well. The restaurant is clean, bright, and very cleverly decorated. We'll be back the next time we're craving fried chicken, and we'd recommend doing the same to anyone. Very well done tonight. I haven't been inspired to write a Yelp review in a very long time, but was so impressed with the meal and experience tonight, that I had to write as soon as we finished eating our chicken.

I decided my hands would be cleaner if I didn't use the restroom. As I waited for my order I couldn't help but notice how disgusting the floor and windows were. Garbage and bugs on floor. If this wasn't bad enough I took a photo of the kitchen. As the saying goes..."a picture is worth a thousand words".

Also, when you have use by dates on food and its expired. Perhaps don't have it facing in the beverage cooler for all to see! Really made me question what I don't see.

I'd been wanting to try this place, but it is well-off the beaten path in Nelson, Illinois…read more How far you ask? Around 10 minutes from Dixon proper, with lots of small roads to get there. But I went just the same. This is decor wise, a simple bar. Tables are available, and a separate room is to what I think was the south (left side as you enter). There were slot machines along the wall and the the room to the south. The mens room was nice and clean, and had good water pressure. No bad smells! I ordered lunch. After asking what was good - the menu was pretty extensive and had a bunch of options, I kept remembering the chicken reviews, so I went with the chicken fingers and fries. The Root Beer soft drink server was down for maintenance, so I ended up with a lemonade. The chicken fingers didn't disappoint. They were served fresh from the fryer, and somehow held the heat quite well - better than the usual fast food fare. I agree, the breading was out of this world in terms of lightness - it was very good, and the chicken tasted fresh and good. I found the fries to be good as well. The Cole slaw could have used something more - it was a bit on the bland side. Give yourself some time, take the drive, and try the place out. The server was quite pleasant. Keep in mind, there is a 3% upcharge if you use a credit card, which isn't unusual.

Pros: + in terms of a bar and grill style restaurants the food quality is really good. They definately embrae southwest flavor very well. Of all the food items I've had, I had not been disappointed. + Great ambience. A large venue, clean, and they have slots here. Even the mens room is well kept. Over the last two years they have taken great care of the place. A very large outdoor seating area and music stage suggests this place can hop on the weekends. + decent amount of parking. Despite lacking a private lot, the fact its on a corner makes up for most of it. + staff was very attentive. Not a lot of screwing around with them. + you can tell the locals and regulars love this place overall. Rightfully so Cons: - I really had to dig for true cons here. Don't underestimate food portions here. Most will be stuffed by departure. - Ummm.... yeah I don't do well with tall bar seating. With the exception of the outside.... most seating is tall. Can be a challenge for those with disability. And yes that front door was a pain to open :) Bottom line: Whiskey Barrel Saloon does better at the bar and grill thing than most in my own local scene. Food quality is high, place is clean, staff disciplined. What more can one ask for? Definately would be a regular if local. Mad Respect to Frankie for getting that door for me.

They have multiple tv's placed all around the building some showing sports others playing music videos. The music playing was a little loud to chat over the lunch hour however it is a bar. The server was friendly and even though she appeared to be stretched pretty thin she tried very hard to keep up. The menu is varied with many options including but not limited to sandwiches, burritos, appetizers, and many flavors of wings. The food we ordered was all very good and served hot and fresh in a timely manner. We ordered a couple of different flavors of wings which were saucy so it might have been a good thing had they provided wetnaps of some type. The chimichanga was so large I was unable to eat it all. The pulled pork sandwich was a large portion and came with a side. The onion rings were also a hit with all who tried them. The prices were good and it was easy to pay using the QR code on the receipt which I appreciated.

Willy's is pretty much forgotten about except by those who live by there. Funny how most in town have never heard of it. There's a few pretty great specials.
