My wife and I recently joined some friends for a beach day in Clearwater. On our way we were taken to a Cuban bakery that they love and have visited many times. We also fell in love with it and would be a place we go back. Unfortunately we wont be able to visit much, since it is Tampa, however, if you are in the area, you need to check it out and when we are in the area, we will go back. This is an authentic Cuban bakery serving all the classic dishes including cakes, pastries, bread, sandwiches, empanadas, coffee and more. Since our friends had been here before they ordered ahead of time and they ordered a ton of stuff! Some for the beach and some to take back home. My wife and I ordered just a couple of things to eat immediately. Their store is located inside a small shopping center, there is a small parking lot but very small. Inside, it is very clear and bright. They have numerous counters and two sides to the store. One side had cakes and desserts and the other side had the pastries and empanadas and coffee. There was also a counter to stand and eat before you leave which I thought was great. You didn't have to eat in your car, you could eat right there. I was a little worried as a lot of other Cuban bakeries we have been to, the employees did not speak English and my wife and I, do not speak Spanish. However, the cashier we had was super friendly, explained all the different varieties of empanadas and was able to assist us with no issues. Other employees were helping our friends with their order so she rang us up and boxed up all our stuff. I will say even though they ordered ahead, they were not ready so we spent about 15 minutes waiting for them to pack everything up. My wife and I only ordered a couple things. She wanted ham croquettes because they are one of her favorite things. These were delicious, very tasty, I even took one from her and I do not usually prefer these. They were crunchy and full of flavor. We would have ordered more to take home had we not been going to the beach for the day. She also ordered her favorite Cuban pastry, a guava pastry. I did not try it but she loved it, saying it was really good. I usually go for the empanadas. They did have about 4 different types. I went with a beef and then a chorizo. I have never had a chorizo empanada but this was absolutely delicious. Again, I wish I had ordered more. My wife and I both agreed it was better than the beef. Their empanadas are really large, fried, crispy crunchy, really how an empanada should be. Again very good, no notes on the food. It would be great to have more Cuban bakeries in our area but we always make sure to get our fix when visiting South Florida and now when we are in Tampa. We will be back here! These were also fantastic. If we were not going to the beach for the day, I would have ordered more to take home. Lastly we ordered a guava pastry since those are my favorite and it was fantastic. We really had nothing negative to say about the food. It was great. I do wish we had more Cuban bakeries in our area but we will for sure come back here when we are in the area. They have really great food and tons of options. You definitely need to stop here if you are in the area. read more

I wanted to try another local bakery and I never have much luck with Cuban ones . I could tell the woman that took my order was upset I didn't order in spanish , however, I very much understand spanish . I ordered a simple passion fruit smoothie and an egg and Swiss on Cuban bread . She gave me a passion fruit juice that was horrible and the sandwich was dry with American cheese.. the mistakes could've very well been overlooked had the customer service been way better . Unfortunately we saw Ants crawling all over the pastries in the case after we purchased our cookies. Service was fine but she misunderstood our order and we got 6 Gingerbread cookies instead of the 2 that I ordered. Hubby and I were not fans of any of the cookies we purchased. i was there today (4/24) for a loaf of Cuban bread.... I didn't pay much attention at the time, but soon realized afterwards that the bread was hard as a rock, I did notice within their display cases that they had the bread in two different areas so the most likely scenario is they're selling unsold older bread in addition to their freshly baked bread..... trying to get rid of the older stuff first and possibly their regular customers getting the fresh stuff...i am not a regular customer. this is speculation on my part, but at the end of the day, a bakery that makes bread fresh daily should not be passing on old hard bread to any customers.... read more

Their service is so poor that it overshadows the great food they have to offer. The service folks can be down right rude at times. The worst part is the business model of having the person taking your order also being the person that cooks or executes your order. It's also pretty overpriced to boot! This is an amazing local bakery. It's spotlessly clean. Better yet, the service is incredibly helpful and friendly even though my Spanish is pretty poor. I still try as best I can. They also make Cuban sandwiches or media noche. Plus, they have chorizo, chicken and beef empanadas until they run out. Finally, they have guava pastries as well as cheese ones. Unfortunately, they were out of guava pastries when we visited in the late afternoon. That's ok. Gives us a good reason to return! The colada we ordered was freaking delicious. The crema on top was impressive and it was so smooth. We polished off the whole thing together in a few minutes. I know you are supposed to share a colada with four friends but hey, we were thirsty. They only greet their spanish speaking customers and look at everyone else with a stank look. They need someone bilingual taking orders and working the register. I waited 20 minutes for them to make me 4 "fresh"empanadas. I didn't mind because they were "fresh" yeah right...the empandas were soggy. The chicken was tolerable but the beef was gross. Don't ever get the beef empanada . It taste nothing like real beef. read more
