Bonjour! Yeeees. We stayed in a line for about 30 minutes or so and wait to get in as other tourists say, being in Paris, I enjoyed every moment of the city atmosphere, sounds, and smell of the air. Paris!!! It was worth waiting and I would do it again. The waitress was nice and elegant even though my French was not good at all. (She spoke English to us.) My favorite Mont Blank pastry was super delicious just as expected along with Chocolat Chaud (rich hot chocolate with heavy whipping cream). It was a moment in Paris that I felt "I don't care how much weight I gain!" and I am a adult figure skater + runner who watch my weight all the time. (LOL) This place is right by musée du Louvre. Visiting Paris with my husband, we discovered Angelina just a short walk from our hotel. Inside the mall (Les Boutiques du Palais), Angelina is a beautiful little cafe that I would love to revisit with my girl friends if we ever had the chance. So many tempting pastries to look at when you first walk in! My husband enjoyed an Eggs Benedict dish with salmon which he later said was his favorite meal of our trip so far. Since this was our first actual breakfast in Paris, I decided to order the Parisian breakfast. I was served hot chocolate in an adorable teacup with a little side of whipped cream and the extra hot chocolate left in a creamer-type dish. Then a tiered tray set was brought out with several pastries on the bottom and on the top were tiny jars of jam, honey and chestnut cream as well as a serving of butter. I don't think I've ever had such wonderful butter before! I wish I could have brought loads of it home to the States with me! I'm not a fan of jelly and honey but I tried the chestnut cream which I thought was decent - but definitely good enough to buy a couple of jars to bring home to friends. My one dislike was actually the hot chocolate which was literally melted chocolate in a teacup. Way too rich for my palate. read more

Delightful pastries + strong coffee = The perfect Parisian experience. Angelina is quintessential Paris, so be sure to stop by for a treat. From the moment you spot your treat through the glass counter, you'll be hooked. The location is tucked inside of a high-end department store, so don't fret if you can't find it right away. It's one of the first cafes inside of the store. The customer service and staff are hand's off (it's a cafe, after all), but if you need anything...just ask! They are very friendly. My favorite items are the Mont Blanc and African Chocolate. Everything is served on the trademark pink and white Angelina china, which makes the experience even more luxurious. If you're in a rush, you may ask for your order as takeaway. But really, I recommend sitting down, relaxing and soaking in every last morsel of your Mont Blanc. We went based off friends recommendations while at the Musse De Lourve. Expensive, yes. Delicious, also yes. The hot chocolate will knock your socks off and have you grinning from ear to ear ALL day. I had the eggs Benedict/ bacon style and it was scrumptious. They offer fresh pressed juices, and an assortment of other goodies. The service was slow, and it took forever to get out check, and then pay. Our server spoke English to other tables, but pretended not to know any when she came to us. If the food and drinks weren't so stinking good i don't think i would go back, BUT they were. They have several locations so try one ! Do it for the hot chocolate !! read more

My mom and I were staying at Porte Maillot and when we saw that there was a branch of Angelina practically in the hotel, we checked it out for breakfast. What a dreadful experience. We noshed on a brioche and a salmon platter and were at first relatively pleased. The place was small and lacked the cuteness or scene of the Angelina on Rue de Rivoli, but it was at least convenient. The brioche was good, with a little crunchy sugary cluster on top, and the salmon platter was interesting. There was smoked salmon, a salmon pate, and some sort of shrimp paste, as well as a salad with tomato and avocado and a few small savory pancakes. We were enjoying the plate until I noticed a little black bug crawling around in my food. We immediately notified our waiter and he seemed to think it was our problem. When we refused to touch any more, he took it away, less than half eaten. I'm about to lose credibility here, because after finding that bug I still ordered dessert. It was a chestnut sundae with chestnut ice cream, whipped cream, and meringue. I will admit it was very sweet and very good. To our shock, when the check came, the salmon platter had been left on the bill. It was only after extensive arguing and indignation that it was taken off, without apology. I've never heard of such service in the States, and was shocked to see it at a place boasting the tourist-magnet name of Angelina. I'll go back to the Rue de Rivoli location in the future, but never again will I step foot in here. Be warned. read more

Unfortunately, I was extremely underwhelmed. I had been dreaming about this visit. We went to this location which was located inside a shopping center. Staff was wonderful and there was no wait to be seated. However, my favorite item was the lettuce that came with my mother's omelette. Perhaps I didn't drink the hot chocolate correctly? I checked out the menu but was not impressed so I opted for a take-out hot chocolate. There is a stand outside of the restaurant so you don't have to go in if you don't want to. The chocolate is very rich. So rich a spoon can stand up in it. I got a small cup and was able to drink half of it. I managed to hold onto it until I got back to my apartment a few hours later so I saved it for the next day when I drank it again with some scalded milk. Stopped in for "Tea Time" after a day of site-seeing and opted for Angelina's famous hot chocolate. Such a delicious, rich, cup of chocolately goodness!! The accompanying tea sandwiches and pastries were tasty as well. Service was a bit slow as we seemed to pop in at a pretty busy time, but still great! This is the Angelina's the French come to. As I sit here luxuriating with my hot chocolate I am the only non Parisien in the room. Compared to the Rue Rivoli experience where you get the ambience of the room (but only if you get the right seat) plus every tourist in Paris and no space to breathe or talk this Angelina's may not have the decor but it has the French. Its oddly situated in the mall attached to the Palais de Congress filled with lunching and chatting French ladies, husbands and wives and businessmen. Spacious quiet and relaxing. My service was immediate and the waiter stood at attention watching the room for even a flicker to whisk over to a table. I had to have the hot chocolate though truth be told I knew it would take forever to recover from the decadence. Its pure melted hot African chocolate blended with cream and a spice to give its exotic richness or it could be the origin of the cocoa that flavours. Served like high tea with a dainty pot of chantilly cream which I could have inhaled by the tub. If you drink it all I cant imagine you'd not feel a bit green. Its rich, rich like eating butter or drinking pure cream. I had half a pot mixing in the chantilly cream to mute the sweetness. Yes putting in cream to make it less sweet, that should be a sign right there. Id come here over Rue Rivoli and tourists. Im here for the food and drink not the company, especially not the same company I could get lining up for a Disney restaurant. As I sit there is an adorable older French couple in their 70s dressed beautifully for an outing sharing a pot of chocolate beside me. This is the French experience. read more

Went with wife and 5yo daughter, and had a great experience. Our server (African - for reference) was great, and was entertaining my daughter the whole time. She dropped a fork, and he immediately came running to replace it. However, when we were about to leave a different server (Asian) went to clean our table. Being a kid, my daughter made some mess. This second server was rude enough to keep showing how he hated seeing the mess that he, as a server, needs to clean up. This happened while we are still at the table. Compared to the Rivoli location or even other Angelina restaurants, this one is far less busy or touristy. On the bright side, you can get your hot chocolate or Mont Blanc here that taste exactly the same but without the line-ups and pushing and shoveling; on the down side it costs you the same without fanciful decor and all that people-watching as you would have the chance to enjoy in Rivoli locale. I like having a choice. For a morning coffee and croissant, it's nice not to have to wait in a line so I appreciate having this location. read more

We got the hot chocolate that was recommended by the friend as the best one in the town! It is the most rich and creamy hot chocolate that I've ever had. Definitely not the kids' flavor who might like more milk flavor but it's good to try a luxury hot chocolate with bunches of pretty cakes! read more

Nice place, great service, food was not very good. Their famous classic chestnut dessert seemed premade quite a while ago. Japanese chestnut desserts are much better. The verbena infusion came in a tea bag. For the price it should have been whole leaf. The truffle linguini was very creamy but good. This Angelina is located in Les Boutiques du Palais which is like a high end shopping center that also has a place for conferences and events. At first we saw the stand not knowing there was the actual cafe behind it, so we only ordered their signature pastry the "montblanc" to go. The ladies at the stand were very sweet and friendly. After walking out we only discovered the actual cafe, and ended up here after walking around the center for a bit. It was pretty quiet when we we walked in. Our server was very nice and patient while we looked at the menu. We ordered their ice cream sundae since it was warm out. The sundae was rich, and decadent but hit the spot after walking along the Champs-Élysées on a warm day. It was vanilla ice cream, that sat on a layer of their signature hot chocolate (which is almost like chocolate sauce, but soo good), topped with velvety chantilly cream that was served with a buttery cookie. The hubby and I shared this as lunch and we were so happy! Service was very good, and the woman made sure we were taken care and always with a smile even if we didn't order food or anything else.
