I joined out of curiosity, hoping to gain some clarity around my own energy levels. I absolutely gained that and MORE. Michelle is approachable, supportive, encouraging, and gifted at educating her clients. During the two-week session, each participant wears a CGM that gathers their personal data, and Michelle guides us through understanding what it all means. Watching my glucose levels respond to foods in real time is addictively fascinating, but having her explain why it's happening is what makes the experience truly beneficial. Michelle holds space with ease and compassion. She never labels anything as good or bad--even foods are simply described as nourishing or depleting--and she gently diffuses any self-criticism that arises, helping the whole group release judgement, and relax into curiosity instead. This group has definitely improved my relationship with food. I now understand so much more about which foods help me feel steady and which ones tend to spike and crash my energy--and deplete my pancreas. I'm more aware, and far more connected to how my body responds to foods and why. If you want to better understand your own energy patterns and understand how foods react in your body, this program is genuinely worth your time and money. It's budget-friendly, eye-opening, empowering, and honestly, worth repeating. Every round gives you new insights about your body, and those insights make a big difference!

Over the course of our time together, Tammy helped me to shift the way I thought about food, promoting simple but effective steps to take after each phone call together. She listened to my concerns and prior frustrations from working with apps and coaches in the past and never once nudged any boundaries I set down. There was no such thing as a stupid question and Tammy made sure I had all the resources, answers, links, and videos I needed to be successful in forming better habits. I really appreciated that she worked with what was functional and accessible for me--on a budget, without a car, limited freezer space, etc. Instead of reminding me to scoop out my morning bagel like prior coaches have, Tammy asked each call what worked for me, what didn't, and what helped me to feel satisfied at each meal. Then we'd find one thing to improve--adding more color to each meal or adding a "sprinkle" like sunflower seeds or olive oil to help a meal reach its full nutritional potential. I also never felt like I was on my own in anything Tammy suggested I try. Gotta make my own broth this week to cook with? Here are great places to get bones, here is a recipe to do it, here are instructions for your instantpot, etc. Want to start incorporating more fish into my diet? Here are 3 brands for tinned fish, a local catch market for seasonal choices, and recipes. I was able to develop sustainable, long-lasting healthy habits by working with Tammy and I find myself continuing to grow with her guidance even though our sessions together are over. After absolutely refusing to put chia seeds in anything for our 15 weeks together, the other day I ate them willingly because I thought "Tammy said these are good for me and I haven't had them yet." This was the shift I was looking for and I'm so thankful for Tammy's warmth, knowledge, and support. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat.

This was my experience with this business…read more First, ALL consultations are on-line. This was post-pandemic FYI ! She does NOT do in-person meetings. Second, you have to download an app to communicate with her Third, be prepared to spend ALOT of time taking pictures of the food you eat Fourth, She is expensive ($1500!) . Has an air-tight policy for getting paid monthly. So don't even think about skipping or changing payment terms. (Please note that I am not saying businesses shouldn't be paid and have clear policies, but tere was something about the focus which was "unsettling" to me.) Fifth, A lot of her advice was also referenced in the book she wrotereplicated (which comes with the $1500 when you sign-up with her!). After I got the book and read it, I then wondered why was I paying $1,500 ? I think you have to sign a contract. SO BE THOUGHTFUL BEFORE SIGNING IT !!!!!! Overall I was uninspired and never warmed to her or the process. In the end, I recommend that anyone selecting this type of service be fully committed. And if any of the points I have raised, resonant with you - think whether the benefits outweigh the price tag for them. BTW: Her book is great. Hence the three stars as it encapulates a lot of solid information.

We made soup, a romesco sauce, an appetizer with dates and almond butter and cashew milk! It was very informative, professional, fun and hands on! Kim shared recipes with me that are incredibly easy to prepare and that elevate ordinary fare to something special. She introduced me to greens that I have overlooked for years. She is encouraging and very thoughtful about the suggestions she offers. I came away with several new recipes to try--and was inspired to do so right away--as well as a newfound sense of motivation around cooking. Kim followed up with an incredibly detailed email on what we discussed. I got a lot of value and really enjoyed my experience with her. If you're looking for a generous, gracious ambassador to offer you new perspectives on the sometimes dizzying world of eating/cooking, I enthusiastically recommend Kim.

She didn't make me give up "bad foods" and she didn't make me go vegetarian. Jamie changed the way I look at foods (ketchup is all sugar) and the way I eat (pile on those leafy greens!). I learned to cut out most sugars and I now shop regularly at Whole Foods for organic everything. I've cooked and eaten foods I never tried before and I feel fantastic! But Jamie isn't just about nutrition - she's a Lifestyle Counselor! Over this past year, I've golfed, tried my first spinning class and gone on long-ass hikes as ways to motivate my body to move more! We went over all the recipes in her handout for fermented veg pickle (like kim chee), sourdough starter (I already killed mine), kombucha (I've got the mother now but not the time or the courage to make the kombucha!)... the class is more demonstration with some hands on prep to make the pickle. Everyone was super nice and I highly recommend Dara's classes. Classes are in the kitchen a 1908 house in the Temescal neighborhood of North Oakland, a ten minute walk from the Rockridge Bart station. Each class is chock-full of cooking instructions, specific methods, and tips and includes a comprehensive handout with recipes and lots of other information and resources. The focus is always on how to make delicious food that is nourishing and nutritious too. Classes all feature a relaxed and comfortable dinner in the lovely dining room after we finish cooking, with abundant food and wine to compliment the meal. This part of the class is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the group and feel the sweet community vibe that makes classes with The Sage Table so special. Cooking is done with the highest quality ingredients possible, adhering to the idea of SOUL food: Seasonal, Organic, Unrefined and Local. As much as possible is purchased at local farmer's markets in the East Bay. Classes are vegetarian unless explicitly noted otherwise.

It took my current cacao skills to a new level. The fermentation class was excellent. I feel confident fermenting foods and drinks. My partner, having watched me make traditional kombucha, began making his own experiments, so we are a super fermenty household now. The vegetarian soup making class opened my mind and palate up to legumes in a new way, and I have yet to try those recipes. The bones, broths and braising class, taught me how to make chicken soup and beef stew, that could have my Jewish ancestors rolling over in shame. The soups/stews we feasted on at the end of the class were nothing short of off-the-BLEEP-hook fantastic. My belly was in pure bliss. Dara was great about answering all my how to cook meat related questions too. There were a lot of things about meat and cooking meat that I did not know before. As a soup lover I can easily say that these were the best tasting liquid meals that have passed through my taste-buds in a long while. I am dairy-free, gluten-free (except for ghee) and so appreciated that these recipes are not dairy dependent. Thank you Dara, for your amazing culinary expertise.
