Came in for a French tip gel polish on my toes, I don't like getting pedicures so I just like doing gel and gentle clean up on the cuticle. My nail tech made me feel very comfortable, made sure I liked the thickness of the French tip. I do have a nub nail for a pinky nail and he even made it into a French. I went here today to get my nails done, and before I moved away from Richmond I went here and never had a bad experience but tonight was just bad. My, I got acrylic, nails are too thick and he even made one crooked and I didn't notice until after I left. He was very rough with the nail file and used his nail to push my skin, which is fine, but he had used so much glue it could've made me cry. It is possibly one of the worst experiences I've had at any nail salon and it makes me sad. If you do go, just make sure you see the same person over again. read more

I had been leaving good reviews about Angel Nails until the last couple of times I went there my SNS nails were done terrible. The last guy I had rushed and they were so thick that it was unreal. the whole place was super loud. I don't mind kids running around in general but there was drawing on the chairs and staff kept getting up to correct the children. Customers were tending to them as well. This isn't a deal breaker for me at all but I work In a preschool and have a son so I generally like to relax at my appointments. I showed the man a picture and he said he could do it but the designs would cost extra (not a problem). I'm sharing what I asked for and what I got. several nails are glued to my skin. some are missing polish in spots and the hearts honestly look terrible. I know I should've spoken up but the lighting wasn't good and I have anxiety. I would've rather he told me he couldn't do the design so I could save money. he rushed through the whole set because someone was waiting on a specific design only he could do. Since moving to Richmond three years ago this nail salon has always been my go to. Just this past year everytime I went in for "ombré SNS" pink and white nails it's been a different price. It was $35 then this last time I paid $67 without a tip. He cut my cuticle and proceeded to let it bleed while he finished up. Then after he went back to buff and grind, he used the buffer and grinder to get the blood off. I of course said something to him and he brushed it off as if he didn't hear me. I recently had my toe nails cut and when my charge transaction came through on my statement, they had charged me $5 more than what they had charged and what my receipt reflected. All I wanted was my my toe nails cu and shaped, so the tech began cutting them and they were way too short. I called that to his attention and his said "too short" and I said yes, but he went ahead and cut them all way too short. In addition, he had neither cut nor filed the sides of the nail, so I pointed that out to him. He said they (only) did that with a pedicure. I told him that I wanted the sides of the nails filed (duh) and I would pay whatever it cost. He was upset and so was I. When I paid, he charged me $5. I charged it and did not leave a tip as I was pretty unhappy with what he'd done and didn't do. When I got my statement, they had charged me $10. Never again to Angel Nails. read more

Terrible service! My daughter & I stopped in for a mani/pedi - the pedi was just ok but not even good but the manicures were terrible! I had polish on my fingers, they didn't even push our cuticles back and clean them up. It was literally a bit of lotion and polish. It's was terrible service and ridiculously expensive for this area. Should have listened to my daughter she had stopped in before and was disappointed but I didn't feel like driving on up to Lex. #LessonLearned. Don't waste your $$$$ at this place. read more

I've gone here for years. The staff is very friendly, but mostly will leave you alone if you do not interact with them first (I believe this is a cultural thing and not meant to be rude). Angel Nails gets two stars for two reasons: One, their clean interior. Totally up-to-date and fresh, nice environment. Two, their acrylic nails, while nothing special, were done adequately. The missing three stars? The complete rudeness of the owner. I went in several times, even taking my mother for a manicure on her birthday, and every single time we were there, he would continually stop working on my nails, to talk to another customer, never speaking to me other than to ask if I wanted a pedicure. The deal breaker was while working on me, he asked a customer next to me, who was already being serviced by another employee, if she wanted something to drink! I was never offered so much as a simple conversation!!! I say, we vote with our dollars, and Angel Nails lost my vote. I have already found a superior replacement right here in town. read more

I never write reviews but this place deserves it!! I recently relocated to Richmond and went to three nail salons that did really bad work, then this past Sunday I found Angel Nails. They took off the horrible SNS polish that have come apart from my nails. Then Stevo (his nickname) proceeded to talk me into letting him put SNS back on the right way. My nail look beautiful! I also did a pedicure & they were not hurried even though they were super busy. They def have a return customer here!! read more

the service was good, but it was $100 for an acrylic fill-im and basic pedicure with gel. this doesn't add up, since my sister went with me and get a full set + pedicure with no gel for $60. i don't know if or why the gel costed that much, but i won't be going back here again. read more

Angel nails was recommended to my mom and I by multiple people through Facebook, so we decided to try it. As soon as we got there, it looked very nice, with a clean interior and a nice reception area. We thought we had found the perfect nail salon! When we approached the reception desk, however, the receptionist was rude to us, but we decided to stay and pick our color. The person who was going to do our pedicures pushed us aside and picked our colors for us! We were so upset, but wanted to see what the service was like. I was a regular at this salon for about a year and I loved it. Nail techs were never too friendly but the store was clean and quiet, it was relaxing! I have two stories to tell. 1. Every time I got French tip acrylics, the white tip would peel off from underneath my nail. It happened over and over so I started getting full sets of solid color. Never had the issue again. 2. I went in for a pedicure and some sort of inspector showed up for a random visit. The girl that was working on my nails hid a metal tool under the towel that was beneath my feet. I don't know was this tool was but they obviously didn't want the inspector to know about it. This has been my nail salon for over 2 years and tbe last couple times i have been so disappointed. The 1st time we waited over 30 minutes for someone to have their nails and toes done for a wedding and was happy to wait she was doing it last minute but when she was done there was 4 people walked in and I was told it be about 45 more minutes because they had an appointment. I left went to ViVi nails and had great service. 2nd time they were rude and I didn't get what I wanted and then had to go back cause 3 of my nails was terrible. I visited this salon regularly when I lived in Richmond several years ago. I was in town, and I thought I would stop in for a mani/pedi. They say they open at 10, but no one shows up until 10:05. This place was recommended to me by a friend so I went to check it out. I had to wait for an hour and people who were arriving after me went first. The receptionist was very rude to me. As for the nail process, I got French tip acrylics and the lady made them almond when I asked for square. After they came off I had what is called the ring of fire from them drilling too much of my natural nail. Overall I did not have a good experience and would not recommend. read more

Within 3 days of my acrylics being done, 2 now are lifting from the original nail! And I had just got my very first lifted nail fixed YESTERDAY. My mother and sister both have had their nails done here and each time they have lifted, or broke! The materials used are CHEAP needless to say. I walked in and immediately had someone ask what I wanted and also got asked many times if I wanted a drink. I got into a chair relatively fast, but.... the man had seemed to be one of the superiors. He seemed very rushed as they were busy. He did not do my nails well nor took as much time as I'd liked. I knew he was rushing to get me done and I did not like that. My nails ended up looking great. I had an appointment but waited an hour and 20 minutes. They took walk-ins before me and I get my nails done every month. Also, they do not have prices showing in the salon aand charge anything they want. The last time I was there it cost me $65 for gel polish and a fill. Ridiculous!!! I have gotten my nails done religiously since 1998. I have had them done at "holes in the wall joints," and "high-end salons." I have to say this was the worst service and fill in I have ever received. I just relocated back to Richmond and remembered Angel Nails from when I lived here 8 years ago. The techs were rude, did not speak to me or my mother who was with me, and did a HORRIBLE job.
