When I first moved to this area, I went to few nails salons and didn't like it. On my way from work I've come here and they're good, albeit for me not close to my house. They have a lot people working doing it all manicure / pedicure / eyebrows, so some ladies are awesome, fast and great job, others stays on the phone and doing yours nails as well attending others at same time, which one time I've even left without the top-coat because they forgot and of course gel nail polish didn't last long. I was on this side of town for a meeting and decided to run in quickly. The GPS tries to take you across the street but once I found it I got in quickly. Pros- 1. Got me in quick 2. The service was quick but didn't feel rushed 3. The tech was nice and did exactly what I wanted 4. Pricing was reasonable Cons- 1. After I decided on my pedi the last sat down and started doing her nails and didn't explain who would be coming or when. After about 3-5 mins the tech finished with someone and came. 2. Not as cleanly as I am used to- normally all the tools are coming out of plastic, hers came out of her case (she just finished a pedi I pray they were sanitized) I didn't see her sanitize while she was doing my service 3. I didnt see her open a pumice stone just dip it in the water I had my pedi in (again praying its new) Not sure if I would come back due to sanitary concerns but overall the service was good. read more

My nails had little bumps after but barely noticeable so I'll live. I did find that this place looked a bit unclean and for that reason I don't think I'll be coming back. Been a regular for a long time and my last visit was the worst. From me getting nic on my toe after I told the lady the pain hurts she kept going. I hated my nails the nail tech got flustered after I told her to fix them rude. The owner is sweet and eventually stepped in but to me nothing changed or done. For me being in the nail salon for hours because of negligent workers and mishaps only took $5 dollars off. I enjoyed this nail salon until that happened won't be back. I got a regular mani/pedi. Pedi went fine but the mani is where I knocked off stars. They had a second technician do my mani at the same time as my pedi. I appreciate the efficient use of time but it was uncomfortable to be turned around in the pedicure chair for 30 mins and not at all relaxful. She also did not clean up the skin around my nails that got polish on them so I had to do that myself at home. read more

I actually read some of the reviews online and chose this nail shop based on other people's responses to their services. I made an appointment right away on 1/22/2021 for 5:30 pm today. I have never been here before and was looking for a nail shop that could really do my nails properly. (I regularly get them done every 2 weeks.) I arrived today at 5:30pm after getting off work. They immediately started to work on me. I advised them that I wanted to take my nails off and start over, a pedicure, and my eyebrows arched. My nails are long. I was a biter and started getting them done to avoid biting so, I had 4 nails that were still mine. They were long. The rest had broken off. The nail tech started to cut all my nails off and immediately I was upset. The 4 nails that were still long were gone. I let it go. Things were going okay and I liked my toes and eyebrows so, I was good. Nails weren't finished tho. Remember I said I got there at 5:30pm right? At around 8:30pm I was almost done. I told them I would like to pay. She told me $123.00. I gave her my card. She said can I see your ID? I said you did not ask anyone else that. She said it is because it is over 100.00. I looked around looking for a sign with that policy and there is none. I paid and stayed silent. At about 8:48pm I left the salon. I was 38 hot. I felt discriminated against and upset. I say this to say ladies, watch this place. This was my first time going here and I will NEVER come back. Since the early 90's I have been getting my nails done and in all that time, I have not been asked for ID. Nor my mom. (She paid for it back then) I know it's a little thing, but I felt offended. I was thrilled with this place in my first review. However, I've experienced a couple of things that have made me have to downgrade this business. First, there is a lady there who is wonderful and every time I go and have her do a service, things have been stellar. However, there is another lady there who, quite frankly, does not know what she is doing with nails or eyebrows. When she did my nails, I had to go back the next day to have them repaired (gel nails). Normally gel nails last for at least two weeks without the slightest chipping, but mine began to peel on day two. On another occasion, she kept hurting me during a manicure. This lady simply does not know what she is doing and needs her license snatched (if she has one.) This last time though, she absolutely BUTCHERED my eyebrows. There were hills and valleys in my eyebrows and hair left where there should not have been. Also, a bald spot. You didn't read it wrong, a bald spot. The other lady had to come "fix" it, but what can you do about a bald spot? Listen, I tried with them, but now I'm traumatized and I positively won't ever be back. read more

Fuck this place, super aggressive and unsanitary as hell they're all unhygienic DONT COME HERE they cut my mom's toe repeatedly claiming it was to take out her "ingrown toenail" and it started bleeding so much! Also my sister asked to have her nails shorter and the lady kept saying it was too short!????? It's not up to her to decide where the nails should be!! It's up to the client because they are paying for it to be THAT SHORT! Charged 170$ for my mom and my sister pedi and full set but sloppy work. Bad quality and bad service. They charge what they want and do a terrible job. Water was too hot and didn't want to make it warm. Clippers fell on the ground and still continued to use them. I've been coming here for about a year. It's right next to Gwinnett College. Sometimes I come with my mom. My friends also come here too. I like it because they are friendly. They don't rush you or pressure you to get a certain service done. They ask about my family and school, even remember exactly how I like my nails, which is a bonus. That's how to keep a customer :). I also come here for eyebrows. I usually do mood nails or darker colors., sometimes on real nails, other times fake. They have so many colors to choose from. This place only gets 2 stars because my pedicure was good and the girl that did it was super nice. But the good ends there. I decided to treat myself and get my nails done, being new to Georgia I relied on Yelp reviews to steer me into the right direction and I found this place 5 stars and reasonable prices. I arrive and at the time I was the only customer in there I got seated quickly the guy came over to start on my hands while I was getting my feet done I showed him a pic of what I wanted which was "coffin" shaped nails in black. I was confident that it would come out well again looking at the reviews on Yelp. He glued and cut my nails so quickly and without any thought, again, giving him the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward, after asking him to fix a few mistakes it got worst instead of better. He left me with nail polish on my fingers I had to get some other lady to wipe it off with nail polish remover. Used to be my favorite nail salon. I go here every two weeks. Today was a bit different. I did gel toes ( no pedicure) and gel fill in. One lady did my toes while the other tended to my nails. Job well done. When it was time to pay the bill was $60 and I did $12 cash tip since I know they prefer cash. The lady said, " what about her?" I said " What do you mean? I just did 20% of the bill." She said yeh but what about her? I said 20% is standard tip. I do 20% everywhere. That's $12. A different nice lady came over and said it's ok that's fine. And I left. I don't come get my nails done to be harassed into a 40% tip. This isn't a massage parlor and I had the very basics done. Very unprofessional. I'll have to go elsewhere now. I'm not fighting over a tip with these people. 20% is customary! Come here and be prepared to argue about tips. read more

Very Dissappointed in the service I received. My first visit was nice. My manicurist did my nails nicely. I get gel powder and gel nails. I have a pointy shaped nail so I'm very particular who does my nails. The nail salon wasn't extravagant but doable. The guy who did my pedicure did a good job. Fast forward my second visit was 3 weeks later. My pedicure was Horrible!!! I had to stop the lady who did my pedicure at least 3 times to tell her not to cut my cuticles to deep on my toe nails. My big toe to be exact. She was rough and didn't listen to what I asked. She did a poor job of painting my toes. I asked her to redo them. I was livid and uncomfortable. I asked to speak to the manager after my service. I expressed my discomfort and she then tells me there was nothing she could do about it because I wasn't bleeding. Wow!! After going a bit back and forth ,not yelling or unprofessional she offers $3 off. Being so I am a salon owner I know this is unsatisfactory customer service. I'm in no mood to argue. I told the manager don't worry about it. I not only paid full price, I gave the manicurist a tip. I told her I will not return and I will be posting a review. Her demeanor changed. She offered to take $5 off. I told her no thank you. Have a great day. My fill in wasn't the best either. It's been weeks gone by. My Big toe is still sore from the hack job I received during my pedicure. I was told the lady that does the pedicure usually has a large Hispanic clientele with ingrown toe nails! That's insane! I was loyal to another nail salon for 10 yrs. but this place is so much closer to where I live. Keep up the great service. They also sterilize every manicure "kit" and are sealed in a pouch. Horrible customer service. Went in to get a mani-pedi after my pedicure I was told to wait till the other nail tech had finished. They were closed at this point however someone walked in 5 mins after they closed and they decided to let her get some services done because she wanted a mani-pedi gel. As I'm waiting for the nail tech to finish instead of coming to me the person that had been there already she decided to start on the lady that came in AFTER they closed, so I asked to pay for my pedicure so I could leave she tried to lie and tell me the lady had to pick up her daughter and tried to start on my manicure but I declined and let her know that I had things I needed to do as well that does justify it. she only went to her because the lady was spending more than me so I guess she thought her tip would've been greater servicing her, which is pretty ridiculous. read more

4/1/16 - UPDATE - I moved out of state a few years ago and I have never been able to find a nail technician as thorough and wonderful as Mimi. Go here & tip her well!! This was my first trip to Mimi's and I had an excellent experience! I showed up late and Mimi still took the time to give me a high quality spa pedicure with individualized attention. She didn't rush the pedicure and I didn't feel like I was a burden on her at all, but rather that she was glad I was there. Everything was very clean/sterile and Mimi is very, very sweet. This is the best customer service I have ever received at any nail salon. I came into work today ranting and raving to everyone about how they need to give her salon a try. I will definitely be back. Came here to get a mani pedi. The guy who did my hands was a little too rough and my cuticle ended up bleeding. Everything seemed very rushed. Don't come here. I got my nails done at another place and I came here because it was on my way home from work to have my gel nail polish removed and to have the broken thumb nails repaired. (No shade to the other salon I went to before. I broke the thumb nails myself trying to get the gel nail polish off on my own with acetone because the lady at Sally Beauty supply told me that I could, but no acetone will take off the acrylic nail too. That is another story though) The lady who fixed my nails, first of all glued my finger to the nail and did nothing to fix it. At the end when she was done my nail was jagged on the edge and I had to have her fix it. She acted like she didn't want to fix it, like it was ok. She then proceeded to rush me out so she could work on the next client, granted I was the only client in there besides the lady who just walked in, so it was not a busy time. She removed my polish with a drill (instead of the soak off method) and I didn't realize until I was almost home (because the lighting in the nail salon was not good) that she put ridges in the nails that were not damaged and made them look bad instead of smooth how they were when I came in. Because I didn't feel like going back I said I would just buff it a little bit and polish them and it would be fine until I get a fill in and it can be corrected then. I had planned to still give this place the benefit of the doubt and return for my fill in since it was on my way home from work it is in a convenient location. So I'm at home buffing my nails, correcting jagged edges, lumps and ridges, which I shouldn't have to do. The next day I get to work and one of the nails she fixed breaks. At this point I'm a tad upset because I didn't want to have to come right back here and that is why I spent time fixing my nails myself last night. So I come back to have the broken nail fixed. I tell them it broke and they all start talking at once in whatever language and then have the nerve to ask me if it was the same nail. Well duh it is otherwise I would have said a new nail broke and I need it fixed. So that was the final irritating straw. After they fix this nail I'm going to make sure I go elsewhere next time. read more

They recently hired a man back in 2016 and he's rude to say the least. I was a regular but they tried pushing him on me when i already had a tech I was used too. The New dude is very rude and has an attitude. I feel like if you're gonna work in the public and provide a service you should have good customer service skills. I'm not the usual clientele for a nail salon, but I visited this establishment as I was invited to do so by a friend who works there. And honestly, Angel Nails was a great first place to experience what manicures are! They offer an excellent, simple service for those, like me (and a number of other males, I'd presume) looking for just a manicure, no polish or pizzazz thrown on top. The atmosphere was very welcoming, the service quite comforting,and the experience overall one I'd definitely recommend. When I first walked in, the vibe in there was very off. They ask you what you want and then tell you to take a seat. I made the mistake of asking how much for a gel set and from there my service went down hill. Now here's where it gets interesting. When I went the first time, I asked how much for just gels polish. No acrylic, no sns powder. Literally just gel polish on my natural nails. $25! But when I came back for the exact same thing, I was told $20. When their price list states for the polish only, it's 14. I had no problem paying whatever they quoted me plus a decent $10 tip. My issue was more so the fact the I get quoted a different price and notice they add the tip on the service. I'd rather spend my money somewhere honest and consistent.
