I had a good experience here. The salon is clean, techs are friendly, have all the current trends in nails, pricing is fair. Really enjoyed my nail tech. Had a great conversation with him the whole time he did my nails. My nails look beautiful. My only suggestion for improvement is that they apply some essential oils or some lotion or something at the end- my skin is so dry it's ashy. Otherwise a good experience. Update- the day after I developed weird dull patches on my nails. It's been two weeks and FIVE of my nails have popped off, taking huge pieces of natural nail with it. It hurts so much. I got a different color on each nail and she told me it was $10 extra. I said that was fine. She seemed extremely irritated the whole time and was jerking my hands around/sighing. One of the regular customers commented on the outfit I was wearing... she must not realize that allendale is a college town and people do, in fact, wear oversized sweatshirts. I would never go back. Angel Nails is new in our town in a brand new facility next to Family Fare. They do manicures, pedicures, eyebrows, upper lip hair removal, etc. The facility was very clean and the people were very nice. I took my daughter and her friend in for their very first manicure ever. They had fun with the girls who were 16 and 17 getting ready for winter formal. The only negative thing we noticed is that they were not very professional they way the yelled back and forth to the back room. But we would definitely go back again. As far as cost, we paid $15 for a regular french manicure and it included a hot oil treatment. The price seemed very reasonable. read more

Then I've gone on two different occasions now to get dip powder on my real nail and the dip itself cracks. I went back each time to get fixed and just told it must be my fault! I usually go to a nail salon in Grand Haven, but living in Allendale I sometimes do not want to make the drive. I started getting my nail done with Mike and he is awesome. He always makes my nails look just how I want them. I went in today for a pedicure and didn't request anyone because I thought "no one can mess up a pedicure," I was wrong. I came in with my toe tails a little longer than usual and while getting them done the younger guy said "sorry i cut them short." I assumed he was taking about my big toes because he cut them shorter than usual. As i'm sitting there drying them, I looked down and noticed that he completely cut my toe nail off, and there was a little tiny nub of a nail left. I asked for my money back all my nails were crooked, there was paint all over my skin, and my short toe nail. I will never go back and just make my drive to Grand Haven from now on. read more

I went in for acrylics which I've had done a million and one times from other places. The nails themselves were super thick, some were significantly longer than others, and a couple fell off in less than a week. Figured I'd give it a second chance and went in for a fill, this time they were a little thinner but the nails were kind of bumpy and again fell off in around a week. When they came off my nails were absolutely destroyed. My nails have never been this damaged after acrylics. They are literally ripping. If I could post a picture I would. My nails hurt really bad because of how weak my nails are and how far down they're ripping into my nail. The techs were all very sweet but I suggest going elsewhere for acrylics. read more

BEYOND MAD. just left this place, was charged $15 for them to paint my nails. i asked for a shellac manicure and got a basic paint. no soaking, no pushing my cuticles back, he didn't even file them right my nails are scrappy. for each coat he beat the UV drier, which means he was going way too fast and did a terrible job. if you're from Grand Valley their are STUDENTS who will do your shellac better. i'm literally paying someone else to do it today. read more

This had to be the worst place I've been to. I seriously get my nails done all the time and it was like pulling teeth. I was on a time budget so I couldn't get them redone, but I will never waste my money here again. I wanted a fan tip full gel full set, with leopard print done to the tips. And I got neither. THEN I was charged 50 bucks for it. As I was trying to pay with my card, he just pointed to a sign that they don't take plastic... So I had to go into family fare and get cash back. Ugh. I'm so heart broken and embarrassed on how these turned out. I work with my hands as a bartender, and usually everyone compliments my nails. All I got for 3 days instead was pity. I went here for a pre-wedding manicure. The manicure (French) itself was solid, but the woman who did my nails was incredibly rude -- I think she was one of the owners because her kid and husband were both there. She kept telling me to hold still even though I was holding as still as I was able. I don't get my nails done very often, so I was treating myself but instead I sat there, as still as possible, burning with shame because of how the woman was treating me. Then, as an added bonus, I was charged double what the sign indicated for a French manicure. I was so humiliated by how I was treated that I wanted to get out of there as fast as humanly possible, so I just paid and left. I've never had such abysmal service, and no one should be treated the way I was that day. I'll never go back. read more

me and my mom went in to get our nails done, my mom got shellac and had a lady that was really sweet her experience was great! i got acrylic with shellac polish and the guy that did them (i'm not sure his name it was a month ago or so) but he was so rough and was rude!!! he was yanking my hand around and even smacked my hand a couple times i was shocked i've never had a nail tech do that to me before but he was going so fast as if he was in a rush to get done quick and he cut me a (which is understandable i guess it can happen with anyone) but not just once, it was three or four times. then when painting the nails he did a horrible job he got it all over my skin and wouldn't even wipe it off he just left it there, and he didn't let the polish dry fully under the uv light because he was rushing- when he finished paining one hand he made me take my other hand out from under the light before it finished curing. on top of all that when the glue was on my skin he'd use his sharp nails to dig it off and separate my nail from my skin which was so painful it was honestly really hard to not get up and leave. when we paid my jaw dropped because of the price i got, ive never paid so much for plain nails that came out so messy (apparently here they make you pay for shellac AND acrylic which the place i normally go to doesn't make you do) but aside from all that the shape was good, once i cleaned off the nail polish mess he left me with it looked good, and they had good music playing ‍--for the pictures i posted keep in mind this is AFTER i already picked a bunch of the polish off my skin, what's left on in the pictures is what i needed nail polish remover to get off smh-- read more

I've gotten my nails done there twice. Both times I have overpaid for a really really poor dip manicure. On top of that, there is a younger male worker that has done my nails both times and both experiences were incredibly uncomfortable. He made very forward advances towards me including asking if I would go home with him and asking my sexual preference on "roughness." When I finally had to ask him to stop being so inappropriate his response was "calm down I'm only joking." I will not be going back. read more

I have been to this particular nail salon twice. Once last year and then about a week ago. The first time I went there, I was not impressed. We had a reservation because I had somewhere I had to be later and we waited for 30 minutes after our reservation time. I decided to try out this place again just because my friends really loved it. My second experience was great! They are redoing their nail salon and it looks really great and clean. I decided to get acrylic nails and I wanted them shaped in an almond shape. Not only did the nail technician do a great job, but also it was cheap! $25 for acrylic nails shaped whatever way you want. I look forward to going back to get my nails done again! read more

Made two appointments right when the place opened and we ended up waiting there an extra 10 minutes because the people doing our nails couldnt arrive on time. We both got acrylics, mine are shaped awfully, they are crooked and are unnaturally rounded. My friends were even worse, she wanted french tips and tried showing them a picture but the girl wouldnt look at it and ended up messing up her nails. The french tip took up half her nail!!! She asked them to try and fix it before it went any further but they said they couldnt and she had to get all her nails done like that. She ended up crying afterwards and I dont blame her because they were butt ugly. Would not recommend. read more

First time I have been here :) Customer Service is extremely excellent! I got a French pedicure (black tip) and it looked okay. Andy was painting them was nice. Only problem I had is when I sat down to wait for my toes to dry and the manager came by and see if they were dry...he added more clear polish and said it will help dry faster. He press down on my toe again and said I was g2g put on my socks and boots and head out. Came home took socks off and saw that the black tip was jacked up from socks lint and wasnt fully dry yes I was disappointed for a 30.00 pedi and first time here drove back and they fixed them free :) read more

Awesome experience! They are so friendly. I went because my nails were crap, the last place I went to did a horrible job. They removed the old nails (pain free I must add), and put on new gel nails for me and they look great so far! He always made sure to ask if he was hurting me, the place is very new looking, very clean and neat. He was also very quick, I was out of there in under an hour and that includes drying time for the wet nails. I am deffinately going back! read more

0 stars in my book...it looked as though my 2year old did my nails. They are extremely rude and horrible quality of work. From the moment I walked in the cocky attitudes and rude behavior began. They didn't listen to how I wanted my nails done, they just asked me what I wanted and then completely ignored what I said. Do not get your nails done here. It was the worst pedicure I have ever had. The guy who did my nails ripped out my cuticle on my big toe and it started bleeding. Poor, unfriendly service. The service has definitely declined since I last visited this salon. The manicurist wasn't very pleased that I didn't want a shellac manicure but only wanted the old shellac removed and a regular manicure. After telling me twice that the regular manicure doesn't last long (yep, I know this), she removed my old shellac and moved me to another manicurist to finish the job. The second manicurist asked me if I wanted a shellac manicure and after declining, he also informed me that regular manicures don't last long and then gave me the worst manicure I've ever had! The price of the manicure started at $10 then went up to $12 and I finally ended up paying $15 for the manicure and $5 to remove the shellac. I'm surprised this place stays in business with grumpy, unfriendly manicurists! read more
