I know those files are usually only used for artificial nails, but I didn't think much of it at the time. I walked in for a gel manicure this week just hoping to pass some time and feel a little extra glam in my day. I didn't expect to walk out feeling so impressed with my experience that I'm here writing a review about it two days later. They made time for me even though I didn't have an appointment and got me in and out in less than an hour. Every person on their staff was super polite and welcoming. Highlights: -They have SO many options for nail art! They carry several different types of high end chrome and hologram polishes and powders, the selection is so good. A lot of salons offer nail designs, but this place seems to specialize in it. If you're looking for custom or complex designs, I recommend coming here. -They LISTEN to you and work within your comfort zone! I have thin, sensitive nail beds and I don't like having them filed hard with the standard Dremel. The woman switched the file head to something super gentle for me and actually *thanked me* for letting her know so she could accommodate my comfort. -At one point, she noticed one of my nails wasn't quite filed to her standards; I guess there was a little rough spot that she missed that I didn't even notice. Without missing a beat, she quickly corrected it and still had me out of the chair with 20 min left on my meter. Her attention to detail meant my manicure has lasted longer and feels nicer. I'm so impressed with the quality of their work and their quick and kind customer service. My only regret is not getting some cool nail art designs on top of my chrome because they seem like they really excel at fine detail work. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Wow I got a pedicure. Basic pedicure done here by a man. Last customer of the day, my and my hubby and he didn't even paint the whole damn nail! He totally missed the sides which is terrible. A 6 year old could paint better than that and we didn't get the hot towel wrap at the end. It's listed on their basic pedicure of what's included. Probably because they just wanted to close up and there weren't any hot towels anymore. And each pedicure was $40!!! For that service.....a complete waste of money. I got my nails done on Friday the 2nd. I called them within 3 days saying my some of my nails have broken off. I work all week and by the time I'm off their salon closes. The next available appointment they had was Saturday the 10th. When I got there the lady that did my nails started acting rude and said more nails fell off and she would not fix. How can I prevent my nails from breaking if it was placed on wrong. She said you did not come within 3 days that's our policy so we cannot fix or return money. Why did you let me book my appointment and waste my time? I made it clear within 3 days that my nails were falling off but I'm at work so cannot come in right away. My first toe pampering in B'ham! I hope to explore many more of the options available here, but this was a nice start. My pedicure from Mimi and manicure from Kin were both thorough and enjoyable. The salon itself is welcoming and bright, and good Covid protocol in place. The location right in downtown area makes it easy to combine with other errands or shopping. Cutest little real pedicure chair I have seen for those young fashionistas! I'm giving 5* for staff and 3* for price, which I found higher than expected ($62 for standard mani/pedi). If i could give negative stars i would. The lady that did my nails did them horribly. The first one broke off within two days. (Doing nothing) Not only were they 70 dollars just for a full set of acrylics but they were rude the whole time. Then when i went into to get that nail fixed( THE ONE NAIL, that was their fault bc of the poorly font nail) they tried to charge me 5 dollars for it. I was asking her what i should do if they all started falling off and they said i don't know figure out why they are. No help what's so ever. And then i said okay i can't pay the 5 dollars right now so i need to just go pick up my daughter and i asked them to just take it off. MIND YOU THEY ONLY HAD JUST APPLIED THE ACRYLIC TIP! My first experience I did a walk in and was told they'd have someone in to help in 5 min, I waited 15 and then another 10 after I was sat without any water in the tub. Horrible customer service but really good paint job. So I figured, let's give them a second try. Welp... This time I made an appointment and still waited 10 min... she cut my toe and I scream in pain but that didn't stop her attempts to fuck with my toe more. She wiped my toe funk on me rather than the towel and she knew it was wrong bc she kept looking at me. I got a 5 min shin exfoliating rub which was rather irritating to the skin and a 0 min foot rub. If you're like me and go for the relaxation foot message, save your time and money. $38 is ridiculous for what they offer; or lack there of. If you're unlike me and enjoy pain and annoyance and being ignored when asking for more or less of something and being over charged- this is the place for you! This is one of the cleanest, nicest nail salons I've ever encountered! The people who work here are attentive, kind, thorough and very talented. I had a gel manicure and pedicure, and both were wonderful! They have coupons on their website, and for the month of December they are giving 15% off services as well as a free 20 minute massage in their super cool massage chair! This massage chair was amazing, a total treat after a long week! The owner, Lisa, is totally devoted to her clients. The woman getting a pedicure next to me told me how she had moved salons to keep coming to Lisa since she's done such a wonderful job over the years! During my services, Lisa and her employees offered me water, made sure I was comfortable and chatted with me. The whole experience was really lovely and enjoyable. I will absolutely be back! Beyond an excellent initial experience and their impressive salon, I ended up chipping the polish on one of my toes a day later. Great experience, one of the best. The pedicure was AMAZING. I got matching red mani pedi. There was a massage chair and I got foot/hand rubs with lotions that smells amazing! It was such a quiet and calm space, I plan to keep coming back. They do have a sign that says walk-ins welcome, I chose to call ahead of time and see if they had a availability. On a Monday, it was super slow for them (right after a homecoming weekend) and they happily took my appointment 15 mins after I called. Took about a hour and a half. Also- I didn't get any designs, but I did see that they had the CUTEST nail design options. Definitely getting a design next time. I paid $65 for the gel mani and regular pedi. read more

I got seated at 330... 30 mins after my "appointment". Sat for another maybe 15 mins as the water got cold for my pedi. I had to ask the nail lady to add many layers of polish so my finger nail wasn't showing through it - this was a little uncomfortable as she didn't want to do it but I expect at least this when paying $90 for a mani and pedi. Awesome customer service!! I went here to get acrylics done, which I rarely ever do, but I tried something new and they ended up not being for me. They did a great job, but the length, color and shape just didn't feel right for me. I called the next day to see if they would be willing to take them off because the nails were driving me crazy. I spent a decent amount of money on the acrylic set though so I was not excited about having to pay more to get them off and get a basic gel polish. They were happy to fit me in the same day and removed the nails and gave me a polish free of charge! Everyone was so kind and I'm so happy with the gel polish now. Everyone here is very friendly and I usually can get an appointment fairly quickly. I do have to say though that every time I get my nails done here, they do not last longer than a week. The last set of GelX nails I got did not even make it three whole days. Pretty disappointing when you spend 60$ for something to last and it didn't even make it through a week. read more

I've never been so upset with a set of nails before.. I went in on Wednesday (today is Friday) and they are chipping and pealing already, they are super uneven.. and when she started painting she didn't even take off my old set that was all black.. she kept them on and did 4 coats of paint over the black and because the paint is so thick now it's pealing.. 89$ and a 10$ tip for this??? Terrible. Worst nails I've had in so long.. she didn't even really try to make them all around even either.. not worth the money very disappointed. read more
