I like that. He is a very thorough doctor and is always open to suggestions on how he can better assist you with your care. The staff at this place is also great. The Pali Momi Medical Building is modern, bright, and well maintained. Parking is plentiful in the building or right next door at the mall during the week. I will continue to travel from town to Dr. Washecka's office if need be. He is worth it.

EYE see you. After…read moreconducting research on the HMSA website, I came across Dr. Fustato's profile amongst the "network" providers listing. The office location was not far from my home, And so, I made my decision (to make an appointment) based on proximity to home, as well as being included in the HMSA provider network. NOTES 1. The office is located within the Stadium Mall complex near the entrance to Ice Palace. Ample parking available within the complex lot. 2. I made my appointment online, BUT they do call to confirm the appointment fyi. I was contacted two days prior. 3. Email correspondence with the office/staff was polite and professional. 4. My visit was in the 1st half of July 2026. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment, and the front receptionist extended a friendly greeting as I approached the front counter/office area. I signed a consent form, provided my ID and insurance cards, and patiently waited my turn. I was initially assisted by Alice, who expertly took my medical history and necessary patient info. I found speaking with her very comfortable, and she definitely put me an ease before she began the initial eye exam (I would later meet wit Dr. Fusato during the visit who also conducted other testing). Alice patiently explained the purpose and use of all the instrumentation she would be using in the exam room (four all together). She was very patient and knowledgeable throughout the entire process, and I appreciated her thorough explanations about how to position my face for each of the instruments. After we were done in the exam room, I waited in front area for a few minutes before the exam continued in another room. The next portion of the exam was very similar to the eye exam for renewal of your driver's license. After Alice was done administering these tests, Dr. Fusato came into the room for the remainder of the exams. Dr. Fusato's demeanor/"bedside manner" was very friendly and professional. He explained the testing results thoroughly and provided a comfortable environment (for a first time patient visit) for discussion and questions. In end, I made an appointment for a follow-up visit later this year, and he also recommended yearly eye exams beginning in 2027. side NOTES 1. There is a decent selection of frames at the office; for reading glasses and sunglasses too. BOTTOM LINE This was a true eye-opening experience. Thanks to Dr. Fusato and staff for making me (a new patient) feel comfortable during my visit.

Yikes. My first visit here in 2015 was very pleasant, but it just went all downhill from there. I…read morereally want to give a higher rating because the doctors are so very nice, thorough and informative... but all the cons just outweigh all the pros. The front office staff are not friendly and not very welcoming. I always get the vibe that I'm just more $$$ to them and they don't really care about me as a patient. Every time I come on time to my appointment... I still have to wait at least 15 minutes (even when I'm scheduled in the morning, right after opening!). I see the assistants just sitting there, and then 15 minutes in - she gets up to start my exam... like why did I have to wait for? So not very efficient. Also - they do a very horrible job trying to keep the cost low for you as a patient... I always feel jipped when leaving their office. I don't even know how to explain this, but I'll try my best. Some parts of the exam are unnecessary, but they'll make you do it anyway - even if your insurance doesn't cover it. Moreover, insurance will cover some parts if you do it on the same day - for example, a contact fitting will cost less if you pair it with your eye exam, but instead I was scheduled to come back for a fitting... where I then had to pay out of pocket for that eye exam. They didn't even TRY to inform me about that kind of stuff beforehand. Also - my contact prescription NOR the brand I use didn't change... but I still had to pay for contact fitting to check that the same EXACT lenses still fit... $90. REALLY?! Ugh. I agree with Yelper Julez K. about them tacking on fees and extra cost whereever they can without it benefitting you at all. On the upside, the doctors (I've only seen Dr. Au and Dr. Wong) were very nice and informative. They educate you very thoroughly about eye wellness and health and answered all my questions, and they are indeed, very good doctors. I just don't feel like paying an arm and a leg or having to sacrifice my first born (or whatever) for this. Sadly, I won't be returning. Please, do yourself and your wallet a favor - find a different optometrist practice. Yelp 2018 Challenge: 14/30

I did not have any regular ophthalmologists since I had previously gone to the eye centers at Costco and Sams club. After calling all around the nearby areas in East Honolulu, I found that all other doctors were about 2 weeks out for any new appointments. Finally called Dr Yoshioka and was able to get an earlier appointment due to another patient's cancellation. The office is located in the small office building next to the public parking lot off 11th avenue or in the same building as Subways and Paul Mitchell salon school on the 2nd floor. Parking is either around the neighboring streets by meter or in the pay lot. I parked +2 hours and the fee was only $3.00 The office is fairly small with just a few seats (4) in the waiting area.
