Good, good good vibrations!!! Absolutely a top-notch metaphysical store. One of the best, if not the best, in the country, and I've been in quite a few-- everywhere from Sedona to Mt. Shasta to London to New York. This is a great shop. It's laid out beautifully, they have an amazing selection of books, shirts, gifts, incenses, oils, bags, tarot cards, statues, pins, you name it. In mid November 2010 I visited the store twice. I have been in many metaphysical bookstores. This one is one of the best in the country. I could see from the quality of items for sale displayed and the way they were displayed that I great deal of love and care your put into buying them and arranging the display. I have spent about 5 months taking classes at the bookstore with Evelyn Mazza. I have had the pleasure of taking the Psychic Development, Mediumship 1 and 2, Animal Totem, Ancestral, Nature Devas, Angelic and Fairies class with her and she is absolutely amazing. Within those past 5 months, I have been able to enhance my own abilities and reach new levels of understanding. I have been able to receive information regarding past lives through Evelyn and it has helped me a lot. I have brought plenty of friends and it is always informative visits to the bookstore. It was my second visit to this store in the start of this week.On my first visit i had bought about 9 crystal stones,some oils and a 7 chakra pendant with the stones on a quartz crystal.The chinese lady at the store was very nice,polite and helpful.I asked a lot of layman questions and she satisfied me with answers with a nice attitude and attention to every single question.The store has a variety of metaphysical supplies whether it be oils,already dressed candles,books and crystals,rocks,stone pendants,almost everything i could think off.The store carries a nice collection of native indian stuff and t shirts as well. The seven stone pendant broke last week(as it fell off the chain) and i brought that to the store on my second visit.It was the same chinese lady there and she gave me the full credit for that pendant with a calm and happy face.She helped me choose another 5 crystals and a nice travel safely pendant.Well in the end i want to recommend this store to anybody from a layman to an expert. read more

I'm a spiritual gal, so I am very thankful for any retailer that caters to the metaphysical/psychic arts, but this store is just a little too untidy for my taste. There seems to be a layer of dust covering everything and a bit of clutter. The owner is wonderful and I've taken some excellent classes here, but definitely not my favorite place. However, they have a wonderful selection of books and crystals. The psychic readers are some of the best and affordable. This was my first visit to the store for their Halloween Psychic Fair. What a darling gem of a place to go for metaphysical things - an incredible selection of crystals. They had a binder I could reference. They had so many shelves of books and cards all over the store. All the other variety of items from mala beads, sprays, palo santo, candles, jewelry, so much! I loved that they have classes. It was great to have a reading with Evelyn. Evelyn mentioned things that she wouldn't have known unless she had the gift. It was a nice touch for the Fair to have hot tea and snacks offered. The dogs were sweet an dressed in costumes. Valencia and her staff were very welcoming and helpful. Firs off, this store has a great feel. The environment feels positive, friendly, and open. I went into this store looking for healing crystals. I was afraid no one would be able to tell me the funtions of each crystal. I was wrong, the store owner came right up to me and was very knowledgable and helpful. I'm not exactly a spiritual person by most standards, but I love this shop. They have very lovely greeting cards that defy the boundaries of normally recognized occasions... some that just offer inspiration without a special occasion needed. I like that. And they were SO reasonably priced. They have some great jewelry, and lovely dreamcatchers and Native American paintings. They also have incense, candles and precious stones, etc. I was surprised I never wandered in there until now. They also have a nice tea room, a charming patio, and events with psychic readings. The lady there gave me a book about her journey as an entrepreneur after I told her about my hopes to open a store. It also includes some tasty recipes! I love, love, love this store!! When my husband & I lived in San Leandro we would frequent this store all of the time, but since have moved & had a baby we have been unable to visit! While I could be there for what seemed like hours my husband would get easily bored after a few minutes! I loved the whimsical, enchanted, spiritual aspects of this store... I always found something every time I went and easily could spend hundreds in one visit! As far as the store being cluttered I liked it like that, to me I would go in looking for a specific item & always happened to find it! The store reminds me of an dusty attic where you happen to stumble on a treasure! While the material items were great I also loved to visit Valencia because she provided me with excellent spiritual insight! I have been going to this store since I was in high school and when I first became aware of how meditation can help my mind, body, and my awareness of life around me....may sound cheesy to some, but I have known this owner for over 11 years now and when she moved from Redwood City (literally 5 minutes away from my house) I was pretty upset. I have driven past it many times, thinking she is not long there!? Where did she go?! There have been times in my life when I have just walked into this store just to be around positive energy and gather myself from the world outside. It has been a safe place. And today....I decided to yelp Angel light to know she moved to Berkeley......I don't know the owner's name but over the years we have gotten to have discussions about spirituality and life and she is anything but "lacking focus." I just attended Angel Light's Halloween Psychic Fair in Berkeley yesterday, Oct 29. It was fun, eye-opening and at times cathartic for I've just recently lost my mother. For coming in costume, I was the winner of a simple yet metaphysically powerful blue kyanite pendant with a black tourmaline accent. I'll just leave it up to you, dear reader, to look up what these stones mean. Nevertheless their purposes are eerily apropos to what I'm going through right now as a grieving daughter and family member. Ms Valencia Chan, the owner, whom I've known since 2014, is scintillating as usual with her encyclopedic knowledge on her expertise: crystals and stones. She is also an excellent metaphysician who practices astrology, tarot, feng shui, and a host of others. I was also able to get 15-minute readings ($20 each) from the three readers present: Ms Eloise Hill, Evelyn Mazza, and Helena Mazzariello - for which I am forever grateful. I am a regular customer of Sunrise Books, Ancient Ways, and Lewin's. I am such a sucker for metaphysical shops that at this point I could probably open my own. Today I took a different route to town and I stumbled on Angel Light in its inconspicuous locale by the BART tracks. I almost didn't go in. The outside appearance and front entryway cater to a different image than the standard east bay metaphysician enjoys in her magic mirror. The glittery trinkets and angel references seemed to speak to a quaint Unitarian grandmother sort of mysticism. But the sign did read "metaphysics" and "philosophy" and I had happened across this shop almost as if by fate, so I went in. The shelves I perused were satisfactory. I saw some books on Native American spirituality and some art that would be of interest to me after I got paid. I asked the owner the hours and ended up in a heated discussion about Vedic versus Western astrology. Valencia seemed genuinely interested in discussing the occult with me in a way I have never experienced in a shop before and most certainly was not expecting given the humble presentation of both she and her shop. It was only then that I noticed my favorite section of Angel Light which resided behind her workspace. The section on astrology and tarot rivaled that of the other shops I frequent, and I was especially impressed by the selection of stones. Within ten minutes I rationalized the purchase of two books which made my day. When the transaction was complete, Valencia gave me a free cookbook and instructed me to close my eyes and pick a stone. I picked bloodstone, which she immediately described the significance of, hitting upon a personal revelation for me. Before I left she made a point to show me another hidden area: a spacious back room devoted to drinking tea, eating cookies and relaxing. The only drawback I can report about Angel Light is the concealed status of its most valuable aspects. hmm. . .what an odd location for a store. i was driving down the street and saw the sign. at first i was gonna pass it by because i assumed it was a christian bible store. when i saw the word "metaphysical" i did a semi illegal turn so i could check this place out. when i stepped in the store i was dismayed. the first thing you see is all these cheesy new-agey statues (spare me). but i decided to take a deep breath and check out the rest of the store. there is a decent selection of books on buddist meditation. . .although not too many books on hinduism. they have a decent selection of books on astrology, wicca, and alternative health. there's lots of incense, some candles, fragrance oils, and a modest selection of bulk herbs. if you look closer at the merchandise, you see that the store carries items for whatever spiritual path you may be on. i did find some cool meditation books to buy. the owner let me pick a free stone from a large basket. keeping my eyes closed i thrust my hand into the basket and realized i had picked a stone that is particularly suited for me. :) if your're in the neighborhood check this place out. read more
