The plug for sonny angel, smiskis, stickers, and everything cute! They have just the right selection and all priced very fairly. My friends who grew up in the East Bay are loyal to Kingstone. The long-running bookstore is ran by sweet and friendly people! It's tucked in the mall, where there's lots of seating outside to eat and take time to look over your cute buys.

I hope this place stays here forever!! I love this place and I enjoy it more that I can come here and then do my food shopping. I usually come here to get my planner for the year, and also some toys, Keychains or stickers. The owners are really sweet people. We have been coming here for over 5 years. Most of the stuff is reasonable price but some are expensive and way out of my budget. I did however splurge myself on a couple of Studio Ghibli items though. We also bought out kids baby blankets from here. Easy parking, happy lemon (milk tea) is around the corner, and food options.

Wow this store is so amazing with all their gift products! They also hold many real licensed Sanrio goods. Great items and real Pokémon cards! Service was quick and packed up nicely. They also gave my kids bath bombs for free. We will be back!

How can I put this...? This store is truly one of the finest establishments I have had the pleasure of visiting in the Pacific East mall. The assortment of items available is simply exquisite, encompassing a wide range of offerings such as stationery, plushes, CDs, albums, posters, and more. The level of service provided is nothing short of impeccable, with the workers exhibiting remarkable sweetness and kindness. This store holds a lot of value to me. I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to this establishment whenever you find yourself at the Pacific East mall.

I saw some cute stuff at the display window and ran in. There used to be so many stores like this in my area but they all closed down so I'm glad I found one here. I bought hello kitty baby in the car sticker, HK cards, HK red envelopes, birthday card and Naruto fridge magnets. I had so much fun browsing and debating what I'm taking home! If you're into this stuff be sure to stop by. It's inside the plaza. Plenty of parking spaces. They accept credit cards.

Inside the Mall, before you hit 99 Ranch. You are greeted on the outside by Totoro and its plentifulness. You go inside and then you see a huge Totoro greet you :D There are many other things there that I don't remember but they have a wide variety of stationery, cups, magazines. It's a Chinese bookstore! Kawaiiness at its best. Service is nonexistent because they only acknowledge you when you're paying or have questions for them. (you have to go up to them). They also start closing the store before all the customers leave (we found out that their closing time was 7 when their lights went to half dim- didn't say a word to any of the customers in the store).

Everything in here is so cute. Such a fun selection but it is pretty pricey for some items. Seems like legit sanrio and other brands though.

Love this place. Come here all the time. The nice thing is that they have a network of them and…read moretheir inventory system is very good. You can order online of course; or go in the store and order them from another store which will ship over for free. I was able to find some (what I thought were) esoteric titles surprisingly. Staff are very friendly. Chairs here and there making it feel welcoming. Quite big and large selection. Very sad it's closing soon- grumble grumble landlord.... Hope it sprouts up somewhere else- not as if there aren't vacant retail properties ALL over the place. It's definitely an anchor to the block and the "arts district."

Save your time! Save your money!…read moreIt's time that they got what was coming. We came here and it was an absolute waste. Most of the stuff they have are packed up in the boxes that you can see in some of the pictures. You can also see they pulled a lot of stuff off the shelves and the prices are higher. I have a picture of two of the same books. One looks used. The other one looks new and one is 699 and the other one is 599. It isn't like one has a signature or anything. It's not special. It just cost more. The people who work there were kind of just hanging around in the back and not doing much. And they're already closed! I remember what the days when they were open until 10 11 o'clock at night but that was a long time ago back when they were relevant. I say it's karma because they didn't buy everybody's books. I have a picture of them saying they are no longer buying books. They don't buy books from Black people, full stop! And so. Bye!!! The problem they always said they had my books that my books are old. So why am I looking at a bookstore with nothing but old books. If they have separate pricing for Black people, they should just say that and suffered the consequences for that. This is a place I used to go to for all my books and I loved going there because I love getting a bargain, however, when I wanted to sell some books that's when things got funky. I find it interesting that I get more money from other places selling less books than I've ever gotten from them and I never did do my experiment where a white friend would walk in and sell my books so that I could see how much money she got. I bet she wouldn't have been told about how old her books are, which is hard to understand when the books are old as Methuselah! But, now they won't be my inspiration for purchasing off of Amazon, which is pretty much what they've become to me. I see a book in the store, look up the author and the book online, and if I can get it at my library or on Amazon, I will get it because I don't wanna waste money with people who say they buy books and don't buy them., full stop! Bye...

Although it's…read morevery close to our home, I drive further to other independently owned small bookstores -solely because of the employees terrible attitudes here. It's sad because Book Passage has fantastic events, classes, speakers, and more. But the employees are SO useless and act like you're inconveniencing them when you ask for help to find things you'd like to buy. On my visit yesterday, I was shopping for some gifts for my former students and their parents (in SoCal). Naturally, this gift was to be special and I wanted to find the perfect thing for them. When I asked the woman (not sure of her name, but she has red hair in a long bob) where NorCal specific items were, she half motioned with her hand and said it was in the other building. When I went back to ask another question, she stared at me and then walked off. Another employee begrudgingly helped me. The two women working in the other building were deep in personal convo and looked SO annoyed when I asked about the gift items area. When I was rung up, there was no "thanks" or "have a good day", just silence. Wow, these ladies are so rude and such a buzzkill!! I debated leaving a review, but after I came to check other patrons experiences, I see this is their M.O and it should be a good warning to all that shop here.
