Terrible don't waste your money my wife and I went there we ordered I ordered a banana split wanted the normal on with vanilla chocolate strawberry was told if I want that it would be 1.50 more for the flavors they charge for changes to the ice cream plus they charge for whip cream and nuts I have never seen that not even at daily queen my wife ordered a hot fudge Sunday so it came it was half melted hardly no topping on my split and my wife's Sunday had maybe a tablespoon of fudge just awful we know where not to go for ice cream we would of been better off going to the grocery store and getting ice cream don't waste your money read more

This is a legendary spot and my happy place. This is a place I consider comfort food. Not on the doors, not on the menu, not by the register. But hey, they've got their own ATM with an exorbitant fee that they pocket a portion of for refusing to take credit cards in 2020. Andys Igloo feels like you're stepping back in time. All the meals are written on pieces of paper and taped up in the walls, and they are all awesome! Burgers, hotdogs, fries, fried chicken, fried breaded pork tenderloin, ice cream sundaes to die for, shakes, tater tots, chili, fried fish and yeah...salad. Old fashioned booths & a counter with stools. You get your bill on the little pad of paper and take it to the cash register...I just LOVE IT! The ONLY reasons they don't get 5 stars? Two reasons. 1. It's a cash only business and it doesn't say it on the door going in, so you're stuck using their atm (extra fee!). Then, they hire what seems to be high school girls for waitresses and instead of training them to be friendly and have fun to add to the old timey atmosphere, they are often rude or sullen. We do have a favorite that is always smiling, but you don't have a choice when you sit down, so it's potluck... Just remember...a little smile goes a long way (in your tips, also!). I have to admit, I've been to Andy's Igloo at least 50 times. Andy's not only sells amazing food inside their restaurant, but they are definitely known for their ice cream! They have a drive up area that makes it extremely convenient to grab and go with your ice cream, or enjoy it all year long! This time, my song ordered a small strawberry cone with rainbow sprinkles and I ordered their "twist" soft serve in a cup! Also, Make sure that you have cash as they don't take debit cards. Andy's is my favorite place I love eating there from the mushrooms to Andy's salad to the pork BBQ sandwich to the ice cream sundaes to end the meal it is all perfect. We have been visiting Andy's for a few years but today was our first visit for breakfast. We ordered French Toast with sausage patties, 3 pancakes with bacon, and an omelet with hash browns and bacon. The pancakes were of good size and fluffy. Some of the best pancakes I've had. The omelet and had browns were sizeable covering the plate and very good. The French Toast was good but nothing too special. The bacon was crispy and the sausage was quite flavorful. My wish is that we made it in for breakfast months or years ago as now I know we were missing out. Prices are very very reasonable and service is always friendly and plentiful. We have been visiting Andy's for a few years now and we love it. The owners are always on site and active throughout the restaurant. The servers share all of the tables and service is impeccable. The menu has a good variety from breakfast items to soup of the day, salads, burgers, hot dogs, plates (traditional diner)and ice cream, shakes and malts. They have so many choices that everything doesn't fit on the menu so they have signs on the walls with more choices. Portion sizes are ample and prices are a great great value. The restaurant is almost always full and tables are seat yourself. They also have a walk up window outside if you just want ice cream. To give an idea of prices, a half pound burger basket with krinkle cut fries and cole slaw is $6.65. The decor is very clean and kinda old school diner. This is a cash only restaurant and they do have an ATM inside if you forget to bring cash. Love this place, love the food and love the owners and staff. read more

I have only ever been to the outside part for ice cream. The shakes here remind me of going to an old fashioned ice cream parlor. The portions are larger and the prices are reasonable. My only complaint is the cash only policy. I usually don't carry cash on me. They do have an ATM inside but the fees are on the higher side. I would like to start by saying that I almost never comment on service, unless they went above and beyond, but this was the opposite case this night. We sat down for dinner and the service was great inside, although we weren't fans of the fish and chips, cuban, and the chicken fried steak was actually chicken. We figured we would go out to the window for ice cream once we were all done, just to clear out a table and sit outside since it was freezing inside. We were told they were out of bananas, and then that they weren't making more milkshakes. No problem, we understand and keep it moving. We stood outside to finish our ice cream, and in the time we were there we saw that she made multiple banana splits and milkshakes, right after we were told they weren't available. We were left kind of confused because we ordered maybe ten minutes before but couldn't get what we originally wanted, so why lie? Everyone in our party has worked a service industry job before, so we're pretty easy going, and don't expect to be met with over the top enthusiasm or even look for a smile even, but this interaction just left us feeling irked. Would consider coming back considering you really get a bang for your buck. But next time we're staying inside. Fried pickles were perfectly crunchy, and everyone was happy with their steakette. read more

Talapia wasn't warm and when asked how they were we told server the problems and all she said was sorry! The steakette burger was greasier than the floors in this place. I understand burgers will have grease but it soaked the bottom bun to a point where the burger fell apart.... And all I tasted was grease, literally. The chili cheese fries were unseasoned crinkle fries, layered with canned chili and canned cheese sauce. The restaurant works on the buddy table system so every waiter/waitress is there to help you. Our order was taken fast and the food came out even faster. This place has amazing food and some of the best ice cream I've ever eaten. I love the old school vibe it gives. The staff was attentive but could have been a little happier to be there. This place is about as close to old school diner that I have found. The ice-cream here is delicious and I believe they make it here. Andy's has been around for a long time in winter haven. The food is still delivered to your table in a basket so when you order a basket it's actually a basket. The food here is always fresh and delicious. Bring cash though I'm not sure if they take a card yet. When you finish your meal make sure to try a cone of some delicious ice cream, if you have room. Lots of nostalgia and good prices. read more
