I had a fearful experience at midnight on my way into Orange Beach with 4 teenage girls when my battery light came on and my car suddenly locked up and quit on me on a very dark country road with no where safe to pull into. We had a 4 hour wait for tow and taxi to get both car and family to the condo safely. Needless to say, my entire next day from 8am to 8pm on what was supposed to be a vacation was spent on trying to find someone honest to diagnose my cars problem and hopefully to have it fixed for me to return home in 24 hours. Andy worked with me every step of the way. He conference'd called with me and my dad and discussed the different options I had. He broke down the entire bill item by item and he even waited for my car to get to his shop after the tow company was 3 hours behind schedule to get it there. Andy worked late to have my car ready to go that night so I could get me and my girls home the next evening. I have been to many vacations on the beaches in Florida and Alabama's Gulf Coast. My experience in Orange Beach at the condo this trip and with the rental company was probably not my best experience and would choose not to go back to that location. Because of Andy and his honest, professional and over and above work ethic, I will go back again just because I know if I'm there and something happens to my vehicle, I can count on Andy to help me out of a bad situation. I can not say enough positives about Andy's auto service. We were in the area vacationing when our suburbans back end went out. This was wed and we were to leave on Friday. Everyone I called said it would be weeks before they could get to it and I was probably looking at a whole new axle. I was able to get it to Andy's by 1 on wed. I explained our travel situation and He got it up for a quick look to asses what I may need. He got the parts ordered in from Mobile to begin working on it Thursday. When he was able to asses everything, he was able to replace the needed parts and not have to replace to whole axel. A significant savings. He also personally worked on it till almost 7pm to get us done so we could leave as scheduled. I only wish Andy was in my home town! This is a guy who cares about his customers and does great work. We had traveled all day on Saturday from Dallas to our condo in Orange Beach and had gone to Walmart for groceries. When starting the Tahoe at Walmart, the battery light came on and not charging message on the dash. I was able to make it back to the condo before the battery died. I called Andy on Monday morning at 8:30 AM and described the problem and that I had a side trip planned on Tuesday but could rearrange my plans. He said it sounded like a bad alternator and once he looked at it would give men an estimate and time to repair. I had the Tahoe towed by AAA to Andy's and it arrived at 11:00 and he called with estimate at 11:30 and it would be ready around 3:00 PM. It was ready at 2:00 PM and the cost was very reasonable. I picked up several of his cards and passed them out at the condo. I was very pleased with the experience and because of Andy, my vacation was barely impacted. Arriving in Orange Beach from Western New York, we noticed an antifreeze leak in our 2008 Subaru. Always a concern when you need car service out of town, we went with the reviews for Andy's on Yelp. Very Glad We Did! He told us to bring it in the next day at 8:30 and a day and a half later we were on our way. He replaced the water pump and timing belt (which I had been warned about before we left WNY). Checking online to get a ballpark figure of what it should cost, Andy was right on if not cheaper. It was obvious he enjoys his work and helping people who are in a bind. Even offered us his pickup truck to use! If he was in our hometown, he'd definitely be my go to mechanic. We were from out of town and needed help- our truck made a clanging sound as we pulled into Orange Beach. We read other reviews and chose to go to Andy's Auto Repair and we are so glad we did. Andy diagnosed the problem right away ( needed new hubs) and we left it there a couple of days. Our friends drove in their own car, so they were able to pick us up and bring us back. He talks to you and lets you know what he thinks the problem is and gives you options about fixing them. We were in the area for vacation and the battery light in my car was blinking, we called around and Andy was kind enough to rearrange his schedule for us on short notice. He was fantastic and fixed it within the evening. The next day our engine light started blinking so we drove over and checked it out and replaced a spark plug for us, again rearranging his schedule.
