Andy gave me a quote for $1800 to sand 2 holes in my ceiling and an additional $325 to paint, he clearly didn't want to do the job. The next day I contacted a professional contractor who gave me a quote of $300 to sand a paint those exact holes. The job was done in 1 day and my ceiling is perfect. I can't imagine anyone paying that price for sanding and painting such a small area, so I'll chalk it up as he didn't want to work for me so he gave me a price to that made sure I wouldn't call back. read more

I hired Andy On Call to paint my garage. One of the worst paint jobs I have ever seen. Painted over peeling paint, came back and painted over peeling paint again. Lousy scraping job. Lousy cleanup. To top it off, painter used my plastic bin to clean his dirty paint brushes and dumped the dirty water on my plants. You can use this place to fix your door knob but be aware of painters. I would give this job negative 10 stars if I could. read more

However, I am disgusted that a job that I thought involved low-level spackling & maybe hole repositioning for a small shelf only involved two screws being tightened but it cost me $75! I feel the worker was unscrupulous and avaricious. He made the same amount on the other jobs so the fact that he wanted an extra $75 that badly is evil. I emailed them about some work to be done and they couldn't give me a straight response through email, they needed to come in for an estimate. They couldn't even tell me if they charge hourly or a flat rate. After I called them it took over a week for them to get back to me. Finally after playing phone tag I was able to get someone out to give me an estimate. The price they offered was way over what I anticipated so I ended up doing the job myself. DO NOT use this service. I hired Andy OnCall to remount a blind in my bedroom. They damaged the blind and are refusing to pay for a replacement yet they state that they are bonded and insured. Called to get an estimate. He scheduled my appointment for a week from the day I called. Prior to the appointment, I received an email reminder and he even sent a postcard to my home in advance of the appointment. The day of the appointment, I had to leave my sons lacrosse game to meet Andy at 11:30 at my home. I waited until 12:30 and he NEVER SHOWED UP. I called him and left a message and he NEVER CALLED BACK. I'm a super busy single mom and was really hoping I could use this service to get much needed things done around my home and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with this unprofessional and inconsiderate lack of response and will NEVER contact this service again. Had front and back door as well as metal outside cellar door painted April 2016. Cellar door paint is peeling off, but when I contacted AOC I was to,D they only stood behind their work for one year. Very disappointed in response. At the time the work was done thought they were a little expensive, since I had to go out and buy the supplies for the job. They installed bifold doors in my sons room and the right side kept falling off. They had to return twice to fix it. It never stayed hanging for more than a week or two. The left side never came off. So... when it fell off the 3rd time. They wanted to charge me $75. Saying that my son must be opening it weird because the frame is bent. I asked if maybe the frame bent from the 3 times the door fell on my son when he tried opening it. He said No. They supposedly have a year warranty on their work, but apparently not. I'm extremely disappointed in the work. I would never use them again and I suggest you think about this before you do. read more

The owner of this company, John, is the most rude, indifferent, and aloof individual I've ever interacted with. Joe on the other hand who performed the estimate was polite and professional. We had questions regarding the quote, and when I called the first time, John acted like I was a nut, and hung up on me. I called again and got the voice mail and apologized for any confusion since I sounded confused because I didn't know much about construction. The next day John called back and my wife spoke to him and although he was rude to her, again treating her like she was an idiot, we were able to straighten it out and set a date to do the project. (We should have taken the hint at this point). Later on my wife and I had more questions so I left yet another message. The next day John called back around 6:30pm and while I was speaking to him, my wife called me on call waiting on an emergency and I told John that I needed to put him on hold to take the call. When I tried to get him back, he had hung up. So I left yet another message and after 5 days with no answer, I decided to compose an email asking about issues my wife and I had. Sure enough 2 hours later, John called to tell me that he was not going to be able to do the job at all. Didn't explain why nor apologize. I'm amazed that this company can even boast about being in business for 16 years. What a waste of time this company is. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with these people. read more

Very happy with the work. I called in the morning with a relatively small job. They came out and looked at it around lunch time and finished it that afternoon. We had been waiting on an estimate from a traditional siding company for several days. When it did come back it was about $150 less than Andy, but the personal attention and quick response were more than I got from the siding company. I would use again without hesitation. read more

I called Andy on Call to hang curtains in my plaster walls. I specifically asked what product the handyman was using (as you can not drill into plaster walls and expect the walls to hold curtain rods). He assured me that he had a great tool for hang the curtains. Within the warranty period, one of the curtain rods fell down. Turns out that Andy on Call drilled directly into plaster w/out additional support. When I called to have Andy on Call fix the problem, I found out that my location was out of business and the corporate headquarters would not honor the warranty. All though Andy-on- Call is a national chain, you are not hiring a vetted or backed handyman and there is no recourse for shotty work. read more
