In early July 2026 we had Proper Hour Home Services help us with pre-installation work for a new…read morerefrigerator. As always, Proper Hour Home Services were very easy to work with and did a fantastic job at a great price! Our new fridge was too tall for our cabinet space, so needed to cut about 1 1/4 inches from top lip. We also had a long copper tubing run connecting filtered water to our old fridge ice maker. Since Lowe's installation doesn't work with copper tubing and requires a valve to hook up the ice maker line, we needed the copper tubing cut and a valve added to the new end. Ihor from PHHS came and did an excellent job on both tasks! He was able to detach the cabinet lip and cut it outside, so we never heard the loud sawing we expected :-). After installing the cut lip, it measured just right with a little room to space. He cut the copper tubing very cleanly after turning off the water main and installed and tested the valve he bought at Home Depot. Ihor also put down plastic before the work and did a great cleanup job. Our new fridge fit perfectly in the cabinet space and Lowe's installers had a very simple, smooth hookup of the ice maker line to the new valve with their ice maker line installation kit we bought with the fridge. Correspondence via texts was painfully slow with 2-3 days taking to respond to one text at a time and to make a decision on whether they wanted to take a straightforward bathroom remodel job. To make things even worse, they asked if I was working with a designer as one of their requirements. So Fancy. Due to their unresponsiveness, when pressed to get back to me if they want to take a project, they said they are not interested. So much for providing unmatched customer service. A contractor's responsiveness is a direct reflection of their organizational skills and how they will manage your project. Poor communication early on is a leading indicator that milestones will be missed, crews will not show up, and the job will drag on. Stay away from these guys.

They also discovered dry rot and mold growth on multiple stories of my house that likely resulted from the leaks. They were able to quickly and efficiently repair the leak, open up the drywall to repair all the mold damage, and then replace the drywall and repaint/retexture the wall. Oh, they stayed on to re-deck my aged and rotting wood deck with some modern synthetic decking. Yes, quite a bit of repair work, yet all done within a couple of weeks. Well, it's been about two years since they've done this work and I'm sitting in this season's first major rainstorm thankful that the repair work has been holding quite well. The quote was also unprofessional and had terrible grammar and spelling which affected its content as well. It did, however, in proper grammar, say that any work that is beyond what it in the description will cost extra. (What description?) When I asked for the specifics that we discussed to be in the quote, I got a rude and dismissive response. I explained that it wouldn't be smart of me to agree to pay $4700 without a full description of the work that made sense and covered what we discussed. But I got no revised quote. When I contacted the owner Alex, he asked me to disregard the quote. Thereafter, I waited for an entire day for a new quote and didn't get one. When I asked whether there would be a new quote, I got no response. I followed up again one day later, and was ignored again. It seems this company doesn't stand by its offers, behaves unprofessionally, and treats customers poorly - at least in my experience. They seem to ghost you when you simply ask for a basic written contract (as is required legally for such a high priced job). I don't see how ignoring a customer who is asking for something basic and reasonable is good business.
